While I'm incredibly jealous of the amazing array of foods in those stores (beats the hell out of the selections in the UK) I kinda wonder about what it says about a culture where so much effort is spent on convenient meals for one. Seems lonely
Sort of true. There are other reasons for it, though. One of them being that convenience stores are a different beast in asian markets. They dont sell gas, so they need to pay attention to the quality of their products. People who are busy, dont know how to cook, live alone and/or may not have a good kitchen (super common for single folks) are all part of the demographic. The competition can be a little more fierce in certain countries too, pushing the need for quality. There is also just more of a standard for how everything is done, especially in countries like Japan. You see a much better work ethic in general and level of pride and care for everything that they do. That's not to bash us western folks, it is just the way it is!
Idol sandwiches were sold exclusively for singers in the cafeteria of SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System). The sandwich contains the cafeteria president's wish that the singers who came to film the '인기가요' don't starve convince store version of idol sandwich is copy original SBS cafeteria's recipe

Me in lockdown: Watching all convenient store videos
I love an inkigayo sandwich. It’s such a bizarre sounding combination, but it’s so satisfying. There’s just something about eggs, Mayo, surimi and strawberry jam. I don’t know what it is!
Question: How are you supposed to pay at the convenience store there?
Like normal convenience stores around the world lol. Cash or card or cardless payment like kakaopay
I won’t get on UA-cam all day. But once I see he uploaded I right away go watch. He’s dedication and he’s personality is everything.
"You've got skin too."
That sounds like something Hannibal Lector would say.
Oh, I Loved the Amy Grant reference as a Nashvillian we do Love our Amy & Vince! She does have the voice of an Angel. Love your channel, and your appetite- always drooling over your delicious finds!
He see's dumplings
He eats dumplings
Cause this is strictly dumpling 😂
Absolutely love Mikey's 7 eleven and all other convience store videos. They are my favourite videos of this channel! ❤️
The sandwich contains the cafeteria president's wish that the singers who came to film the '인기가요' don't starve
convince store version of idol sandwich is copy original SBS cafeteria's recipe
Hello mike, early so I will stop by to say hello
Having actually watched the program Inkigayo, I can tell you that the proper pronunciation is:
Ink-ee-GUY-oh
It's not a bad show. That's how I discovered popular indie bands like Thornapple and Nell. And that, in turn, led me to check out Korean indie labels, which just cause my love of independent Korean artists to grow and flourish into a near-obsession.
