"Sorry, all you piquant-word knowers!" This video is one of the most amusing you did later. Thoroughly enjoyable. Also, trivia: I think "piquant" is an acquired French word. This food review was so helpful. I always feel overwhelmed by the frozen food selection at Trader Joe’s. You made it a little easier. Also, thank you for all you do to support small businesses! You have a big heart❤️
I’ve said this before, but next time when you come to Japan and if you have a decent kitchen, I really want you to try frozen foods here, even the ones you can buy in convenience stores. They aren’t anywhere near to authentic, but I think the quality is simply mind blowing.
I love your videos. Your personality is so inviting. Plus, I'm always curious to hear people react to and try foods. But the last few minutes where you talked about helping small businesses was just heartwarming. The inhumanity of people is becoming more and more visible and depressing, but your response to what you can do in crisis was so encouraging. Thank you.
Piquant is a fancy way of saying spicy/zippy/vinegary. I'm used to hearing it for like mildly hot/sour European food. Same root as the Spanish "Picante" - although most things I've heard described as piquant are mostly pickled and a tiny bit spicy - like pepperoncini.
Picante was borrowed directly from the french word piquant but came to mean spicy hot in spanish. The spelling was changed to preserve the pronunciation and the e was added to make it a proper spanish adjective. Piquant derives from the same root as pike (ie something sharp).
Mikey, try baking those Korean pancakes. They come out soo crispy and delicious!!! They’re oily enough on their own, so you just need to bake them. One of my favs from TJ’s. 400 degrees for 10 mins, and then you’re in heaven! 🙏🏽😋🤤😋👌🏽
