Knuckles down in the starting position is also something that really helps for me in addition to all the other tips already on the screen
This whole thing would make a good poster on the gym wall.

Love allllllll the Greg vids!!! Keep helping us and thanks again!
Great tutorial, short and to the point, thank you 🙏 and keep up the great content
All your videos are awesome including this one
I just found this video and it’s awesome!!! I love all things catalyst athletics ❤️
Coming back from a broken left wrist trying to get my snatch back on track; the videos are helpful!
Great video thanks
Mattie is a BEAST!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Best snatch video i’ve seen on youtube
Love the short vids.
This is the best snatch video I've seen!
Many weightlifting instructional videos have athletes doing olympic lifts with way below their max, which is useless or maybe even misleading
for instructional purposes, like Oleksiy TOROKHTIY snatching 100 kg when his best competition lift is 185 kg.
Well here is a lady, barely half Oleksiy's bodyweight, snatching 100 kg, NICE! Womens snatch world record is 148 kg, for her weight class probably 124 kg or less.
BTW would be nice to know who it is.
It's Mattie Rogers, 4x silver medalist at the world championship and medal contender in her weight class for the upcoming Olympics.
It's like ballet with a barbell !
Great cues
gold!
Phenomenal
Feet under the bar, hands on bar...
I watched it on 2x speed to not waste any time, going straight into gym to grind
Nice
Do power clean
Fantastic! Any other channel would be a 15/20 mins video, with lots of unnecessary stuff, thanks
Hey anyone please tell me whats the meaning of this ?
Snatch Balance (5-8 x 1-3)
Or
Clean + FS + Jerk 1RM (5-8 x 2)
Thank you in advance!
What is the source? That would be the person/place to ask.
Can you please describe the physical benefits of these lifts and why athletes should do them?
Not all athletes should necessarily do them. This channel is concerned primarily with competitive weightlifters, for whom the snatch is one of the two competitive lifts.
In basic terms, the lifts develop power/explosiveness and the ability to productively absorb and redirect force.
over back of neck
Do power clean do power clean do power clean
Clean 1-minute tutorial when!??!
Eventually
@@CatalystAthletics Thanks Greg - I've learned a lot from your book and videos and my snatch is pretty decent for being self-taught but my clean is very inconsistent mechanically (different thigh contact every 2-3 reps). I generate enough vertical power every rep to complete but I can feel that some reps are better than others
@@aigamithite Try this - ua-cam.com/video/G8IDYxaBuec/v-deo.html
@@CatalystAthletics I tried that this weekend it helped - I tried it again now and it feels even better. I will keep working on it. You are an outstanding teacher and the only US based coach I know of that has such an open mind and doesn't resort to bashing other nations to clout. I hope the universe returns your kindness back 10fold :)

Some lifters seem to catch the bar in a higher position then descend into a full squat. Is it personal preference?
No, all proficient lifters do it but to varying extents. See these -

@@CatalystAthletics But someone like Lasha seems to catch it in the bottom of his squat?

I can't snatch, due to poor shoulder mobility.
@@khmak9387Watch the videos. And watch videos of lasha doing lighter cleans. I promise I’m not lying to you.
@@CatalystAthleticsI see what you mean now. With weights of 200 kg and above, he catches consistently at the bottom, but higher up for lighter lifts.
