6. Preferably woden accessories

8. Dish for water and food
9. If you can, add some herbs and hays

I’m just gonna rant about my hamster because I love him. The first time I saw him , I was in the pet store and I’ve always seen hamsters , but never really wanted one... until I saw him he was in a little ball eating food and I fell in love 😍 I rushed to my mom and told her I needed him , she didn’t care until her saw him and she also fell In love . Then he started climbing on the grid trying to get out and a worker walked by and said he had never done that before. After that I knew I wanted him. I’m the car I was excited because I said I already had a 10 gallon tank and I could put him in there...(silly me) when I got home I got on UA-cam and did my research and found this channel where I learned everything I needed to learn. My mom did not like the idea of having a big cage in her house but I begged and begged. The next day we went to Walmart to get a bin cage but then... once I picked out the biggest one there, she said I could not get it and we had a big fight. She made me buy a small one that was not big enough. I was sad 😞 but kept hope and spent 100 dollars on all the stuff he needed. The day we got him... my mom comes home and says get in the car we’re getting the hamster I was confused but excited 😆 when I got in the car I saw something something amazing.... it was a huge 40 gallon tank I couldn’t believe it, she said she did not want a ugly bin in her house so she got me this instead. We don’t have a lot of money so I was very grateful. We rushed to the pet store and got him the worker said no one had wanted him and he had been there for a month, well I wanted him. We brought him him and put him in his new home he loved it and started buroing. Ever since then he has been the sweetest little hamster. He loves getting out of his cage to playing , loves to snuggle in my hands , love to explore his new set up when I change it , and most of all loves food it’s him favorite thing on earth 🌍. Basically I’m so glad I could provide him with everything he needed and he is the best first hamster a girl could ask for. Your videos have help me with every question I’ve had and helped me give the best hamster the best life ever so thank u 😊 I love your videos so much . ♥️

This video was so helpful! I used to have lots of hamsters when I was little and didn't understand that they needed much more room to run and dig. I hope my new hamster can live a stress free life in her brand new 20 gallon cage with lots of bedding and hides. Thank you so much!
Actually, the minimum tank is a 40 gallon, so you might want to upgrade
I am trying to convince my mom and dad to get me a hamster, and I need a really good cage idea! Although my mom isn't a fan of the idea, she loves animals and says if I get one it must have a big nice cage to treat it right. I'm so glad she doesn't want to get a small one- hopefully she lets me get one! Your video's help alot!! :)

@@emerson4557 Actually it wasn't! In her description she says she filmed a video on setting up a cage in 2018 and decided to remake it since her process has changed. Just look at the surroundings, the room is her new pet room and the sand bath is the one she actually got early 2020

Hello, I recently discovered this channel because I want to get my two sons a hamster. I have been trying to watch as many videos as I can to educate myself, and I love this channel🥰 but I have a question that anyone that knows can answer for me, I'd appreciate it. So I am going to list the things I have already, can anyone let me know if i need some more things, or if something I listed is not good to use for hamsters. I am wanting a syrian long haired hamster but the pet store here doesnt have any so I will get a dwarf hamster instead. I am wanting to do a DIY bin cage with my sons for the dwarf hamster. What I have so far:

Aspen soft bedding 24L
Bathing dust for Chinchillas
9in round cake pan natural aluminum for sand bath
Small animal grooming kit nail trimmers and brush
Wild harvest advanced nutrition hamster and gerbil food

Two pet feeding dishes for food and water

Industrial strength velcro for water bottle

Shift the sand and then bake it for a little bit
For food I would recommend Higgins Sunburts, mealworms, and mazuri rat and mouse diet
You also do not need a grooming kit

Awsome even though you want to get a girl hamster boy hamsters are a lot more calmer, from my point of view I had a boy he did not bite often and he was a lot calmer and now I have a girl too ( they are in separate cages) and she is very skittish and wild so I would recommend a boy but it is your choice! This video changed my life... before this i thought it would be fine to put a hamster in a small petsmart cage, before i got my hamster i thought i could look at some "cute" vids when i stumbled across this.. "WOW that is a big cage!" i thought, then i subscribed and watched ALL ur videos, now 3 months later i have Pippin my white and ginger Syrian hammy he lives in a 700 square inches purple cage with alot of bedding, a sand bath, 12 inch wheel, loads of toys and a water DISH... thank you Victoria you saved my hamstersa life you are AMAZING!!!

Everything you have here is perfect, apart from the chinchilla dust as mentioned in this video it can cause respiratory issues so I recommend using chinchillas sand, reptile sand with no added calcium or children’s play sand. Hope this helps
I had a critters trail cage. I thought it was great. I got my gerbil as a surprise and I didn't even have time to do my research to find out that the cage was absolutely terrible. I got him a new cage 2 days ago and i can see he's happy. He even lets me pick him up now! I wish they wouldn't sell those cages in the pet stores.

Wow... I had a hamster 2 years ago and came across your channel a month ago. I realised how much things i've done wrong, such as giving a really small cage, using cat litter during summer, giving only a tiny bit of bedding just enough to carry the cage base, giving cotton etc... although he died in a relatively old age at almost 3 years old, i guess his life could have been a lot better if I actually did more research back then. If I ever get a hamster in the future I would definitely use your tips! love your channel!
because of your videos me and my dad made a large hamstercage and i only use paper bedding now. i bought a sandbath and lots of new toys! i also put a lot more bedding then i used to do and i have put togheter a new diet for my hamster. i live in the netherlands and they sell alot of small cages and not the good types of bedding so it was a challange to find the right kind! but so worth it! thank you for the great videos! i have learnd so much about my little friend! ❤

In a few years once I decide to get another hamster I will use this as a guide for their personal home . Ever since I had my old hamster a few years ago when I was 14 , I was still a bit uneducated on cages and sand baths so this is great for me to help give the next hammy a better environment to live in . Cuz I still regret the bad cage and living space I had for my old hamster cinnamon when my family and I moved to Rhode Island for a year . Looking back how much more I could have done to bond with cinna before dying of old age or something. I wasn’t present when I found out. Learning experience or not I wish to give the next little critter a better living environment

Hi Victoria! I don’t know if you remember me (Shayla Aviles) you used to reply to my comments all the time. You helped me learn so much about hamster care at a very young age. I got my first hamster in fourth grade, (2018) and I was actually very mature for my age, so i was not too young to have a hamster. I named her Ginger, and she was a long haired Syrian. I started watching your videos in fifth grade and immediately upgraded her cage and gave her the best life possible. She was very very happy and a lot happier than she was in her old cage. She unfortunately passed away a few days ago: Thursday, April 30, 2020. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. R.I.P Ginger. She lived a very long life and was with me for a very long time because she was so happy and had no health problems. She passed away very happily. She was very very old because I got her in fourth grade and I am now in six grade, and she died a few days ago. She was already almost 3 years old! Thank you so much for making Hamster Care videos because they really really helped me give my hamster a very good life. And I hope that makes you happy that you gave a hamster a good life! I love you so much Victoria and hopefully you start replying to my comments again! I will never stop watching your videos! 💖💞

Just got my first Syrian hamster but I make sure to first watch every single video to learn as much as I can
I got a 40 gallon tank and the little one looks pretty happy, I made sure to give him one site of the tank with 10inches of bedding and he is been digging like crazy, just one question.. what is a good brand for sand? I been looking like crazy but I can find any sand that doesn’t have calcium added I think I’ll order from amazon US but any brand that you recommend? I finally got a bin cage! Yay! It's literally got about 8 inches of bedding in one area, and she loves it. Thank you so much for inspiring me! She was so confused when she was first brought into it, but now she's making the most of the bedding. I tried giving my hamster a sand bath, and smoothed it to check for footprints to see if she liked it, there were only two footprints right by the entrance! 😂💞

I bought a winter white dwarf hamster about 2 weeks ago and I bought a tiny tales roket ship cage but after watching a couple of your vids I am upgrading her to a 900 square inch bin cage so thanks for the information!!

I wish I had enough room for a cage THAT big!
It’s only 2 by 4 feet. There’s Guinea pigs cages that size lol. To me it’s not much different Han having a cabinet. Depending on your budget and creativity, you could probably even fit a cage under a table if you needed to.
Same I have no space or any space that will take up half the entire room

Just wanted to thank you for your channel, have learned a lot on how to have a happy hamster.
Bought a 110 qt storage bin, and am looking forward to making my hammy's new home. Had a hamster before, but I didn't know why she chewed on the bars so much. . didn't realize the cage was too small, (bought it online, so was a lot bigger than the ones in stores) and she didn't have enough bedding to burrow in.
Always took her out to have playtime, but didn't know that the hamster ball wasn't good for them. . saved a cardboard box to make a playpen for the hammy I will get. (sides are high enough). Already have the wheel (Niteangel), and lots of wood chew toys, and hideouts, as well as the Higgins sunburst and Mazuri rat mix,nuggets) and some millet bunches.

Actually! You’ll most like have to spend up to 200-300 dollars because they have a lot of supplies. BUT A BIN CAGE HELPS WITH PRICE!
