PLEASE NOTE:
The willow items in this video could potentially be dangerous due to all of the gaps. I no longer consider these as safe items.
I definitely think the same. They look really pretty but it's just too risky. If we plug the holes in the bendy bridges but leave willow items in then what are we even doing. Though covering it completely with moss would be a good solutions for the ones people already own.
there's something so satisfying about watching enclosure setups
If you're familiar with this channel, you may be wondering why I had to change out Robin's bedding! His old bedding (kaytee clean and cosy) had to be switched out. I hadn't realised how dusty it was!! I moved a handful of it, and a cloud of dust went in the air and into my eyes. The bedding had been affecting my asthma, not great at holding burrows and started smelling. You should never remove large amounts of bedding (apart from medical reasons) and this is really a medical reason, as it affected my asthma, and the dust could have affected Robin's respiratory system too. I kept some of his bedding and put that around the cage, so some of his scent was still there, and of course all of his items still smell like him.
Oh no!!! I use Kaytee’s dupe from PetSmart & it isn’t dusty at all. I’m sorry that happened to you!
I hope Robin isn’t too stressed ♥️♥️
@@carriemiles937 It's been a week since I set this up, and he's completely fine!❤️
@@TheHamsterRoom that’s great! 😃
Sorry to hear how dusty the bedding is. I used to use Kaytee too and found it was dusty. I switched to Fitch First.
@@carriemiles937What dupe is it? :)
This was a great video and everything was explained really well with detail. The enclosure ended up great as usual!
I wish those lower fat sprays were available in the US. I did go to Moony Paws but it’s $24 or so for shipping 😭
I also don’t like how expensive sprays are here compared to the UK.
I really enjoy all of your enclosures 😊
Aw yes, it's so unfair that they are much more pricey outside of Europe 😔 Thank you!
Ur voice is so relaxing ❤
Aww thank you!!
Ur hamster looks so cute and his new environment looks so cool! ❤ i bet u have a happy hampter!
I love this channel so much ❤
Thank you!!
@@TheHamsterRoom of course!!!!!!🩷🌸🩷
@@TheHamsterRoom do you think you will ever do a reacting do my subscribers hamster cages because I just got new things for my 2 hamsters 160 quart bin cages
It looks amazing!! I bet Robin loves it! 🐹🌿🌷
Thank you!
Just beautiful
May I ask what bedding you are using now?
Chipsi classic
Ok thank you! I'm just trying to avoid Kaytee Clean and Cozy because it's getting dusty now days🙃
Love your new profile pic of Bear! 😍🐹 As well as all of your videos! 😃🌻
Thank you so much!!
A lovely video and a great setup! 🥰 Your video quality and the way you record have improved a lot as well! It is so easy to see every part of the enclosure and how it is set up. ❤ What camera are you using if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you so much! I just use my phone😊
@@TheHamsterRoom No way! What phone are you using, if it's ok to ask?
4 minutes ago! Wow
Great video! Where do you get your leaves, forage and sprays?
Thank you! Sprays from Koernerbude and leaves and flowers from Bunnybistrouk
@@TheHamsterRoom Alright, than you so much! Do you know if they ship to America?
Unfortunately they don't. Getzoo or Moony Paws are other places that do ship to the US😊
@@TheHamsterRoom Alright, thank you!
Thanks for your video! I’ve got a question: you use the Chipsi Classic bedding and I was checking it out and says it’s made of Fir and pine trees. I thought pine has to be avoided, maybe there’s something I’m missing since I’m new at this 😅
Chipsi is made mostly (70-75%) spruce which is safe, and the rest fir. Because it is predominantly spruce, the phenol levels are low enough to be considered safe😊
@@TheHamsterRoom Perfect! Thanks ☺️
ssuper😀
Hi!😊 Then do you prefer chipsy better than paper (like kaytee clean and cozy)? I use paper chips but I really like how It looks wood chips. Just...this doesn't hurt his skin, isn't it? Thank you!!!😊😊 I am from Spain and I want to be an expert like you to help spanish hámsters.❤
Thank you!
Yes, I prefer chipsi- it is better at holding burrows, less dusty and more affordable. It's not sharp so it won't hurt their skin😊
Oh another question pls...cause I don't find the answer and I don't understand. Pine it's bad but spruce It's fine...and both are conifer...Then why!? 😢 Both should have toxic resin isn't it?? I'm paranoid with this topic...sorry😅
No hace polvo esta madera para el hanster?
No it doesn't
Is it hard to spot clean with the cage that like filled with stuff? It seems difficult to move everything around to clean.
It's not difficult at all! ua-cam.com/video/Ovrn7s28Tp4/v-deo.htmlsi=auVE0yHkeqr4gqR4
@@TheHamsterRoom thank you! I’ll be sure to watch.
Hi, are you sure that Chipsi bedding is save? It is made of wood shavings isn’t it?
Yes it's safe, I wouldn't use an unsafe product
But what is it made of? It is not mentioned on the package, and people in hamster community write that it is wood shavings which is not save to use. You can easily find such discussions. Of course the manifacturer writes that it is safe
@@vague_1255 Pine and cedar are unsafe due to the level of phenols. Chipsi is made from approximately 75% spruce which is safe, and 25% pine. Due to the small amount of pine, the phenol level is low enough to be considered safe. I hope this makes sense.
Thank you!🙏🏻
Also bought it for my hamster but was confused as it was not clear
HELLO! I found out classic Chipsi beddings are not safe as we thought so..turns out it’s made out of fir and spruce although it has gone through kiln it’s still not 100% safe😢 I just got my hamster this Monday and I used Chipsi as well but I’m planning to switch on Pet Select paper beddings and a local bedding called Emily Pets (made of birch wood)
There’s also beddings reptile beddings like snake beddings that are safe for hamsters so you can check those out. The brand “crediball” is a aspen bedding that’s made for snakes that’s safe for hamsters and is quite popular for hamsters in my country!
The percentage of spruce is around 70-75% so the level of phenols is low enough to be considered safe😊
@@TheHamsterRoom ohh okay! Well at this point i’m not really sure anymore bc I saw a video from Victoria Raechel about safe and unsafe bedding and she inserted a pic of chipsi bedding in the unsafe bedding list.. you can try searching “Victoria Raechel safe and unsafe bedding” and I’m pretty sure you’ll see that video😁 also a local hamster community in my country recently canceled Chipsi from the safe list😔 I really don’t know anymore hahaha this is getting quite confusing!😆
@@TheHamsterRoomohh okay! Its quite confusing bc my local hamster community recently canceled chipsi classic from the safe bedding list and I just recently saw a video of Victoria Raechel about unsafe and safe hamster beddings and she inserted a picture of the chipsi bedding in the unsafe bedding part of the video
What is the cage dimension?
@@MoodyClooudy 100 x 100cm
I feel so poor. I can't even afford a proper cage😭
There are lots of ways to upgrade on a budget! 🙃
@@TheLittleThings-nk5tj I'll upgrade when I couldd:>
You changed ur profile picture
Such a great video with lots of detail to explain everything. This set up looks amazing as your set ups always do. I love the idea of putting one of the different substrates inside the sand bath. I would never have thought of that. 😍
