Before I had the money to buy one, I picked up 4 copies of the Roland User's Group which each had an indepth tutorial about the VS-880. I was literally up and running within 10 minutes. I'd been reading those (the magazine in general. Not those tutorials) since high-school. So many memories
I just unpacked mine bc I wanted to start recording my kids. Well after 30 years of being in a box I can’t freaking remember how to use it. I used it to record my and local bands back in the day. Then I look at that Bible that they call manual. No freaking way!!! Kids don’t do drugs unless you want to remember NOTHING! 🤣 I’m looking to see if I need something newer, everyone is telling me “ get a Mac! “ Did I mention that I’m computer and tech illiterate? 🤦🏻♂️ If anyone has a simple solution, without thinking on budget so much rather easy of use plz lmk! My family will thank you!
I'm just glad that it fired up and worked after 30 years, quality of equipment was heading towards where it is now during this period of time, but it was still well made.
@@JNo-sk5mz right! 30 years is a long freaking time. Unfortunately after a handful of uses the Zip disk got stuck. Something I can take care down the line but it was so emotional rewarding hearing all my old stuff. Brought me back in time, to the simpler days 🖤🖤🖤
@@zjedinite This thing sounds so good for being so old. I love the effects. I'm thinking of buying one just to noodle around and get away from my computer DAWs.
@@ANSWERTHECALLOFJESUSCHRIST the effect are dope! I got to mess with it a bit, put some of my old recordings on and felt the nostalgia running down my face. Then…….. DISK STUCK! I tried and tried but the next step would have been to take it apart. So back in the box it went 😞

This was a cool find…… I still have my VS-890….. had it for sale for $100 bucks but no one wanted it…… so I kept it…… glad I did…..
Thanks so much for this upload, brother! 😁
Still have mine, I expanded the HD and added the EFX (2) option. Now I use Tracktion Waveform free DAW for PC.
Can you explain that in further detail for me I just grab one of those I'm waiting on it to get here is there more effects that you can put into it
Would be great if tascam at least put some loc button's on the dp24/32 ?
I found a used one, but I can't assign input 3 to track 1 and input 4 to track 2. Is this possible?
Is it difficult to change the screen back light bulb on these machines?
I don't know I don't have the machine anymore. I just found the tutorial and thought it would be helpful to post
@@theritchieritchproject yes if you are tech-savvy not too hard
