    I love my vs 880 its very reliable and more fun to record on then my computer it makes you feel like your in the 90s recording in a real studio when my homies seen it they didn't even realize it was a 20 year old recording device it makes me feel like a boss everytime I use it

      It's crazy how today's equivalent aren't as beautiful, solidly constructed or practical. Tascam DP series come close but it's not Roland.

    Hands down, best new user vid I've seen for this unit. However, towards the end I would have liked it if he went slower and showed button by button during effects, cut copy paste, and looping. I liked the speed and the depth of tutorial in the beginning much more than towards the end. But overall this is still the best video I've seen for this unit and I will definitely use this when I'm working with the unit.

    Roland should rerelease this unit with new improvements such as a SD card hard drive and USB port for DAW connectivity.

    I loved this in 2001 with my MPC and Korg Triton. I can’t roll like that these days.

      This is an old Roland product video. You might find more on eBay on VHS. I bought the 880EX and CD burner when they were new, which included the manual and surprisingly - the actual User Guide and Quick Start for the 880 are really well crafted. It's easy to understand unlike many manuals. If you find one (or a PDF) it will be quite useful, too.

    Its a quality recorder but not very user friendly...Mastering this machine will take a time to understand and use. On the otherhand once you know your way around a real studio environment will be familiar.

    Are you open to questions about the VS880??????

    • @dijons
      @dijons  3 роки тому +2

      I’m open to questions but can’t offer many answers. My dad gave this to me after he bought a 48 track. I didn’t see a lot of use navigating the interface after logic and ableton so it’s been sitting safely in storage.

      There's no tape outs its a great machine but Roland knew they were leaving out the good to only make more recorder's with small upgrade's !

      once you record and are done mixing it, record the stereo line out to a PC or digital device.

    Hi dijons, I have the vs880 and i want to get my music off but i don't have SCSI burner. What else can i do to burn my music?

    • @dijons
      @dijons  10 років тому +3

      If you have a DAW (like Garageband), you can connect the master outputs of the 880 to the inputs of your USB audio interface. Might need a splitter cable for L+R output running to a single input.
      Play each track of your song on the 880 while you record it to your comp in real time. You'll retain all the flexibility for mixing & mastering without the headache of dealing with optical media.

      Thank i will try the connection and let you know how it turns out.
