Probably one of my hottest zoo takes, but I really don't mind Fort Wayne's Orangutan exhibit. Of course outdoors would be better, but of the all indoor orangutan habitats I've seen, Fort Wayne's is by far the best IMO, and I've never really considered it a poor exhibit.
I love your videos, Derek. I loved the footage of the swamp monkeys, pelicans, hyenas, vultures, orangutans, and moon jellies. Speaking of which, what are your thoughts on the brand new Red Panda Ridge at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo?
It's fine, but as a visitor I don't think you would guess it was the zoo's newest exhibit if you didn't already know. It would've been nice to see some more natural climbing opportunities for the Red Pandas, but one positive is the open air exhibit offers great eye level viewing when the Red Pandas do use their climbing structures.
@@JacobFiveash Got to be Detroit, because of the use of large real trees. Memphis and Indianapolis are some other places that use trees well in Red Panda exhibits.
The red panda ridge was a decent addition but an outdoor orogutan space was need more.
