Love that Popoyan and Mary are still together! Just shows that their bond is more important than many other factors. :)
Popoyan and Mary sitting together like ma and pa!😂 All they need are two rocking chairs!🤣
Mary is amazing. I am glad she need not breed any more at the price of her health. I hope she can emotionally still lead a nice life. Papion still loves her.
Mary is an amazing spider monkey and a wonderful mother and partner. Her man knows he has a great woman and is isn't gonna abandon her. The human men could learn a thing or 2 from Popoyan!
Popoyan ain’t cheating that’s a married monkey
Much respect to a loyal gent!
what i wouldn't give to be able to just sit in the company of such an old wise spidey monk
I had no clue they lived that long . I’d love to be able to rescue one and grow old with it 😂😂 they’re too cute
I just love this series in the Zoo❤Thy !
Just now finding this series! Monkey World is between seasons on the wildlife channel, think I'll be watching this one too!🐒
Какие они приятные на морду. Первый раз вижу таких обезьян.. Красавцы.
I wonder how long we humans would survive in captivity.
i'd said at least 30-40 years if socialized if not around 10-15years
@@CaptainBlackBeard1 humans was what she was asking that about, not the spider monkeys
@@ritamccomas9271 i know
i suppose maybe less for if not socialized
5-12 and probably most would suffer from mental illness's like depression so the average for even being socialized with other humans i'd say around 20-25 years at best
Isn't that what the SHU is for
Nature is so much more than different types of things that might be so different types of things that other stories and different chapter and other people and animals and nature so watch and enjoy 😁❤
7:40..."he loves her, that's what we choose to think"...lol uhhh considering they are primates I'll say they love each other with a lot more certainty than that. I'm incredulous that people that deal with these animals all the time would be surprised that this kind of bond between primates would exist.
In retrospect what if having babies is keeping her alive 🤔
I did not know Monkeys could get birth control
Humans are animals too lol I bet your vet could operate and save your life just as well as most doctors.
@orangeyewglad with the hospital in my town I would go as far to say that my vet could operate better!
VoiceOver sounds like Olivia Colman!

Well they also live longer with free medical care provided to kill off viruses that the monkey would normally die from.
You all went too far. You shouldn’t have interfered. There are other male female combos for the breeding program. This is infuriating to watch.
like father like son
I don't know... I think that for a lot of animals in captivity that manage to stay alive for a long time, that being able to and having babies is the main thing that keeps them going. And especially for a 50 year old spider monkey that's had 19 kids! I think that not being able to have babies anymore is going to cause Mary WAY more suffering than attempting to have another baby could ever cause her. Even if trying to have another baby caused her to die... Think about it. She's not going to want to take it easy from here on out as she winds up having to see a doctor more and more as her body slowly fails her piece by piece like we do. Always having babies and raising them is probably part of how she's lived so long. And besides, letting her keep having babies will let her go out like the amazing spider monkey that she is. AND, instead of the rest of her life being long and drawn out, it's likely she would perish sooner, allowing the very important breeding program to continue on sooner. Also, while I know giving birth again would be dangerous for her, she has had 19 babies, and when she has one she delivers it herself and just pulls it out. So it's obviously nothing like when humans give birth. That's just my opinion though. And I'm just trying to give another perspective. And even if just a small part of what I said helps Mary is some way, then it was worth typing all of this out. Not just for her, but for all of you who are keepers. I know the salary that y'all make is not what keeps you there at the zoo.
