  • Bruce Lee's isometric routine is essential to maximize strength, speed, power, and explosiveness. This video will show Bruce Lee's isometric routine and the specifics of how isometric training works. Bruce used the deadlift, quarter squat, shrug, full body pull, calf raise, shoulder press start, and shoulder press lockout.
There are so many exercises you can do. In addition, this video will show you isometric combinations using the back row and triceps. And demonstrate more exercises like the biceps curl, triceps extension, lunge press, back row squat, and martial arts lunge punch.

I got my exercise-genie in high school back in 1967, still have it. The is the first time I’ve seen anyone ever mention it. Thanks for recognizing its benefits in health maintenance.

I think it also requires a strong mental commitment with limitless exertion. Bruce Lee's training routine 👍

    Question!
Are you doing this for a cycle in place of a "normal" weight lifting program or is this done in addition to a lifting program?
My concern is overtraining and going into burnout. Thanks

Hello, and thanks for the comment and question.I know many people who do isometric training only and some who incorporate it. I incorporated it into my training by using complex and contrast training methods. If you were to do Bruce Lee's isometric training routine only, I would consider that strength training for the day. Bruce Lee's isometric training routine is difficult and challenging because you are pushing and pulling from 95-100% max effort. I have done it many times. Isometric training has a highly stimulating effect, the reason I use it to stimulate as a primary exercise before a dynamic secondary one. But you can also break down Bruce Lee's isometric training into two days or break the routine down to where you're doing a few exercises before your resistance training so you can reap the benefits. This way, you can enjoy isometrics and maintain your training program simultaneously, and avoid OT. It all depends on your strength training program, your goals, and what you are doing. I hope these explanations help.

How long is each isometric hold for? It looks like it was just a few seconds. I thought iso holds were supposed to be for 10 to 20 seconds..more or less.

Hello, thanks for your comment. You can do isometric holds for any amount of time. You are correct; usually, it is for 10-20 seconds. I hold and show the exercises with less time for viewing purposes. I think people will get bored watching each exercise for the full time. So that is why I shortened the exercise to less than 15 seconds. Sorry for any confusion.
