Giveaway linked in the description! So a little addition to what we've spoke about in the past given that SEGA#s news yesterday was quite interesting. Could pan out quite well for us if CA, SEGA and GW see Warhammer 3 remaining very profitable. I'd imagine so considering the DLCs packs are quite large and people seem to be enjoying them BUT the true test will be with this next dlc. If it does as well as TOD or close enough. Have a great day guys!
Quick question why in the instant gaming website there is a total war Star Wars and you can add it to the wishlist when I was checking out the website when I look up total war and it showed up kind of weird
We'll see after this DLC, if the next one comes 8 months after, I can't see us getting the amount of DLCs we want, but if it takes 4-5 months it would mean that CA is back on track and that we can be optimistic.
I do think if you are a developer and there's a lore to keep mining, its easy money to keep making DLC. Certainly dogs of war and some of the peripheral 6ed stuff should be popular and not require huge investment from the company.
If CA actually extended WH3's lifespan, nothing would make me happier. I'm not interested in 40k, I'm not interested in WW1/2. I want WH3 to have the treatment it deserves. I wish I had a bigger voice to let CA know this. I want WH3 to keep going, and I'm more than happy to keep buying DLCs for it.
It really depends on what you consider a healthy lifespan. I'm sure the dlc cycle will last till 2026-2027. But beyond that i really doubt anything happens. A game of this type can't get infinite development. You may not be interested in 40k but it's the bigger IP than both Fantasy and Age of Sigmar by far. And it's having a moment of great exposure and popularity right now, which will only increase if Cavill's cinematic universe starts doing releases.
I'm deeply interested in WW1/2 and 40k. But they need to finish fantasy well for me to have any faith they can pull it off and not wait two years before looking at it. I really enjoy fantasy and it deserves a good end. And if CA doesn't stick the landing here how can I expect them to do something bigger and in a style they aren't used to?
Eh if I was CA I wouldn't try to do Oldhammer on a new engine because it will not be able to be as feature complete as TW WH is right now which would dispoint fans... Also I don't know of how any new engine would overcome the fact CA would need to start over and will have much less cotent then TW WH has right now. Like all the things you would want from a new engine that would make sense for Total war can be done on TW WH's engine. Even if it wasn't cheap to it would still make more sense then starting over. Which they can add naval battles to TW WH it would lilkly be another "game" because to do it right it wiouuld cost more then enternal empire mode did. Given that it was built up over 3 "games" and ten years in a game engine made for it. But to do naval battles right CA would likely make it TW WH 4 and to be fair would make actually sense unlike divided the game intio 3 games. Which if TWWH was moved to a new engine with new assets adding naval battles could be cool. But whould nuke the cintent in the the rest of the game drastically which I don't think gamers by large want or have ever liked at first.
@@GreenBlueWalkthrough naval battles are pretty much impossible for Warhammer fantasy because for some races their main strength is their navy while don't even have a navy (wft is a wood elf faction gonna do if they fight a vampire coast faction in the sea ?)
@@giorgaras1851A wood elf faction could have some crazy stuff like actual floating forests or whatever. You don't really have to hyper adherent to lore if it'd make for good gameplay. The bigger problem is that naval battles in total war games have historically sucked. 40k space battles will probably not translate to water based navies even if 40k space battles are fun to play.
@@GreenBlueWalkthroughI doubt that content transfer would be as hard as you think. It'd take a whole new game but i doubt that touching up and maybe redoing the actual assets for an upgraded engine is something crazy. All the ideas, mechanical design and concept work and logic is already there. It'd take some effort but probably would be a crazy financial success. Personally though, I'd much prefer them work on a different fantasy series with maybe a smaller IP after 40k. Though if 40k is a success no doubt they'll make it three games or more, since 40k is definitely more popular on its own than oldhammer. 99% of times when companies say new engine, they mean their existing engine is getting major upgrades, but not being built from scratch.
@@user-ez9ng2rw9c CA doesn't have to follow the lore 100%, but that doesn't mean they can pull things out of their ass. The things they can add need to be in the tabletop game or at least be mentioned in a book (and also be accepted by GW themselves).
@@michaelmorton6566 Unless they rework the Southlands to add extra space to implement Araby, then I don't see them. Unless as a mini-racepack where anyone who can will recruit their lords, heroes and units if they build the proper buildings in settlements that do belong to Araby.
If they're really hell bent on never implementing Ind, Kuresh, Araby and Nippon they could at the very least give us token concessions like mercenaries and characters. I've wanted Halflings for years myself.
a focus on campaign map optimization would be best imo. rn, unless you have a beast of a PC, a single turn on average is like 1 minute on early and 3-4 minutes on late game. Adding new factions/settlements would just make it worse. if they chose to reduce the settlement and make the map shrink just to add other factions, that would be the worst.
The slow speed of releases is the only thing that keeps me from thinking this can continue for a fair bit of time yet. I imagine at some point people will become uninterested and the lack of speed of the introduction of new stuff is not helping to keep people interested.
I expect the pace to pick up for the next DLC. I expect all dev was on hold while they figured out the plan of future DLC after Thrones, plus all the lay-offs and reconfiguring of teams. Once CA and Sofia are more settled with proper plans I reckon we could see DLC every 4 months or so.
it is so obvious they can make a second chaos dwarf dlc. they definitely neglected some content on purpose. we will get a bullcentaur lord and hobgoblin hero. plus the other missing units.
There is soooo much more they could do with this game... they could milk it for a long time. Cathay alone could easily do 2 or 3 more DLCs. Dogs of War, Southern Realms, Ind, Kuresh, Nippon, Araby....
They should release Free LLs sometimes, like Rakarth. Especially for Bretonnia, Dark Elves, Vampire Coast, Wood Elves, Tomb Kings. Looks like no missing units left for these races. Or as DLC, only one legendary lord with a fancy trailer for 3-4 dollars.
They maybe can "add" the LL already in game to become playable, for example Boris.. Red Duke.. Sarthoreal.. only add some bonus faction and done.. simple patch I think
They could easily add free Lords or Factions which only make sense if you own DLCs, like Nagash. You would need every DLC with an undead faction if you want the hole roster. This thing is also happening right now with every DLC adding some units for the beastmen oder chaos warriors.
The only faction you stated there that doesnt really have room for another DLC is the Vampire Coast. They also stated with how theyre gonna be doing free content going forward and stated they will not be doing legendary characters but will be doing things like unit variants.
They could even sell upgrades for existing Legendary Lords, mainly unique mechanics but also units and characters. Half of the game could benefit from that kind of dlc. If they run out of legendary lords this is an idea to support that game even longer. Optimisticly they will add mechanics as free update and maybe they can do it. If its not viable for some reason then this kind of small content can be easy developed years after their new games come out.
@@poobis7731 And even the Vampire Coast _could_ get (and could arguably do with) another DLC, although my suspicion is that the best they're likely to get is unit variants plus an undead version of the merwyrm if and when the regular version joins the High Elf roster. But yes, the claim of 'no missing units' is very much contingent on where you're prepared to look and how you think TT should be translated into TW. For example, the Wood Elves could be said to be missing hunting hounds and strangleroot treemen from 8th edition - were the former (which could accompany Orion) implemented adequately via the 'Hounds of Orion' ability or is there a case for the unit itself to be added - and are strangleroots just a simple unit variant even though they'd be making the switch from purely melee to ranged? And given that we've seen several units added from the Monstrous Arcanum, could the khemric titan be viable for the Tomb Kings? And how far back are we going? I regularly see people make a case for Lizardmen to get another DLC on the basis that they don't have culchans yet, but culchans haven't been a proper unit since 2nd edition. You can find more units for some of the factions on this list without having to search that far back, and those are factions with less expansive in-game rosters than the lizards as things stand.
They need to finish filling the map. After Slannesh DLC do Ind, Khresh, Nippon. Maybe in a year they can do one race pack and 2 dlcs or 1 dlc and one race pack. Tribes of the north and Hobgolins would be great. I would love a strong horse archer horde fanction like Atilla.
Ending the game at end of 2028 should be the bare minimum to cover everything that needs to be added into the game, but if it was me, I would push until 2030 to add even more lol.
Can it? YES! Give people the Kingdoms of Ind. Give people Khuresh. Also give people friggin Nippon and also rename it from Kingdom of Nippon like it was in the artbook for game 3 into Kingdoms of Nippon instead. Not to mention the mythical continent of Lumbria too... And I'm not satisfied with only lord packs and race packs. Give people mini-race packs to enhance the existing races and factions. Give people more units in general via simply unit packs that are not connected to specific lords. Thus giving us more stuff to play with...
They'll almost certainly not add a lot more races that aren't on the tabletop. Maybe one or two at most. GW has no incentive to let them do that. And i doubt GW, being the slugs they are, are planning to release more than 1 or 2 tabletop races, and that's if sales are going really well... Which considering past history feels difficult to imagine. They're super slow to add stuff to even the golden child, 40k.
I don't know about Ind, but racepack with another chaotic/evil army like Snakemen of Khuresh would probably sell like crazy if it would contain enough of creepy monsters (and you know that probably more than half of their roster would be creepy). Ind could also be quite interesting, as it could be made more into a hybrid faction having higher numbers of beastmen and more fantastical creatures compared to purely human-centric factions (Empire, Bretonnia). Pushing in that direction would also lead to expanding Cathay - Li Dao, the Fire Dragon fending off Khuresh from Southern Provinces and Monkey King clashing with Indans. You could also potentially have Yin-Yin (Sea Dragon) against Nippon, although she could just as well be on expedition to Southlands.
It’s GW. Sometimes they bless up and sometimes they make a decision so stupid nobody would have even considered making it. They’re very VERY, protective of they’re IP and for some reason when it come to games showing off stuff they want to make sure that if it ends up being bad or controversial it won’t see the light of day outside the tabletop. If I had to get they don’t care for games and movies. They just used them as advertising to get people buying the models so if they keep stuff tabletop only people are more likely to buy tabletop, even though it wouldn’t make a difference as more people would pick up the games than models as the models are expensive.
New races like Khuresh, Ind, Nippon would definitely sale and extend the lifespan. I mean imagine 3 more races, maybe not as big as Cathay, but like Kislev or Chaos Dwarves. Would definitely show that they are going for the long run. Take my money plz.
If they expand the lifetime of Warhammer 3 maybe that means bigger chances of Ind, Khuresh and having a full roster of Dogs of War! Please, make it happen!!
Warhammer 2 had 4 years of content before the release of warhammer 3 and warhammer 3 is intended to be the ultimate warhammer fantasy game in total war, they could easily reach 5\6 years of new content
@@mrhelzbygrad7485 I want to see a Jade Blooded LL go to VCoast. VCoast needs more content, and VCounts already has more Bloodlines than it can handle.
From a business perspective I do think that Ind, Koresh and Nippon could provide CA and Sega as walls GW a long term way of providing funds as long as they can introduce them as a "lite race pack." E.g. Immortal empires only with only an intro cinematic.
As far as I am concerned, the longer this game last the better. I used to buy all the historical titles, but ever since the Warhammer series started, I can't see myself buying another Warhammer title ever again. There is enough content and replayability already to last a lifetime and I just want to see more and more. The game is getting better all the time and constantly feels fresh and exciting with meaningful patches and DLCs.
If we get 2dlcs/year heres how CA could finish Warhammer before 2027 Obviously Ind and Khuresh as races are out of the option however: 2025 June - Slaneesh, High Elf, Monkey king ( Ind opened up ) 2025 December - Dogs of War 2026 June - 2 Requested lords with Thanquol at the front ( Khuresh opened up) 2026 December - Nagash/Bloodlines + Endgame Crisis Throughout these years Bretonnia/Lizardmen/Undead/Norscans would get their free reworks. its 2027 and CA moves onto something else but Total War Warhammer is now truly a complete experience for 600 euros ( with hopefuly sieges, order and corruption reworked as well )
Makes sense, adding to that a Tzeentch FLC probably. Rich Aldridge implied that Van Hortsman was coming eventually, I think we'll get him a a random point. Also I feel like the Empire is still getting a DLC, or at least something for Boris. Dark Elves need an update too, Malekith is a rather pathetic Witch King right now and at this rate they'll be the only faction in the game without a legendary hero... Kislev was mentioned in one o their blogs as well for a little something something.
I pray we get many years of dlc, even though it’s an unpopular opinion but three cathay dlc for me, also where can u find the new dlc wallpaper looks amazing
I think they should reduce the content in future dlcs after Slaanesh. Scale it down to the dlc model of Warhammer 2 The current rate, price and content is only appealing to fans not more casual players. It makes the price of the game more intimidating. And people start thinking "Is this dlc really worth the price of an indie game?" Also, the release rate of Warhammer 2's dlc made sure to bring people back to playing the game, increasing its player count. Which also increases the likelihood of the game being featured on the steam store page. Attracting more players and old players. Like it or not, for total war to do better they need more players and more sales. Ultimately quality > quantity here, but, there's an art to dlc sales and pricing.
Warhammer 2 got it highest player count when it was releasing it's DLC's 7 months apart. WH3 is currently releasing 8 months apart and it's DLC's apart from SoC (which had only a 4 month gap) are almost matching WH2's highest player counts, so your logic is somewhat flawed.
I mean realistically even after they get all the faction content out they could start doing new maps/campaigns as DLC based on specific lore events during specific periods or even just specific regions as semi-narrative sandboxes. Especially if they are easy to make, it would add a lot more replayability to the game
Sports Interactive brings out Football Manager. A very popular soccer games for the wannabe football manager's. Definately a game that always brings a lot of money in SEGA s pocket, as they bring out a "new" game every year.
Its kinda scary to think where the community will be once support for Warhammer Total War 3 will be cut. There will be no game set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe being worked on (what with Vermintide 2 being in maintenance mode) being actively worked on.
Dogs of War is almost a certainty, some of their RoRs are already in the game, and Lucrezzia and Borgio were mentioned in the game files. You can probably expect Ruglud's Armoured Orcs in the upcoming DLC, another hint at Dogs of War. Dogs of War will probably come after the Slaanesh trifecta or after the Monkey King.
Subfactions pack should arrive from CA. A DLC with Middleland and Musillion as a sub race with their own slots like the race by themselves and giving to us The Cult of Slaanesh free content race faction for multiplayers using the models and units with some aesthetic retouch.
ostanky should be a subfaction with her unique roster limited to her. I tough they will do it before realese but hey went lazy and now kostaltyn is runing with forest beasts.
I agree with you, sub races/sample races are the way to go. As much as I want Ind or Khuresh, I think GW will close that door and both those zones will primarily be Khorne/Slaanesh/Monkey which is a damn shame. Hobgoblins, Halfings, Fimir, Beastfiends etc could be tidy subrace packs. And moving certain characters into sub races (Saltspite comes to mind) who should never have been under their current faction.
I hope they expand the map. Since places are getting a little crowded. The Throt campaign has notably change in the past year. Now you need to get warp lightning cannons online so you can shoot down the dawis' durable dirigible instead of being able to do south as soon as Kieslev was down.
Depends. If the development time is *this* long, we can only hope the DLCs are much, *MUCH* more content-packed to make up for the wait. Our silver lining are the *interim patches* that are released progressively, which improve the game MASSIVELY over time. Small, but substantial improvements. Like the recent Ogre Bounties rework and Mercenary Recruitment and Unusual locations.

Football Manager is huge in Europe and has a very unusual player engagement curve. It doesn't have high peaks but neither does it fall to very lows. Here's some interesting data: Warhammer III All-time peak: 166 000 players 24 hour peak: 32 000 Right Now: 21 000 FM24 All-time peak: 90 000 players 24 hour peak: 66 000 Right Now: 33 000 Pharaoh Dynasties All-time: 8 000 24-hour: 1000 Now: 600 FM23 24-hour: 7500 Right now: 4000 A new one is released every year. It's not a cash cow the size of Fifa for EA, but like Fifa it is also a game that's essentially the same every year, with very minor adjustments other than an updated database. I can't imagine the costs being anywhere near the ones involved in producing Total War games.
I think Monkey King + Ind makes a natural pairing that turns a minor race pack into a guaranteed seller. Khuresh is more difficult. Not sure how deep GW ever got into Khureshi myth, but there's plenty of stuff in Korean myth to draw from. And Korea's a fairly big market if they want to tap it.
We need Vampire Counts DLC to add bloodlines like the WoC DLC added a lord for each Chaos God. The most forsaken and under-developed non-DLC race in the game. Their one and only DLC was in mid-W1 and other than a small blood kiss update in mid-W2 all they got was an extra unit in recent patch.
I think that releasing new characters/factions has lost some steam. They've neglected what should be done across the board. Diplomacy, administrative mechanics, public order, building chains, and dilemmas for all factions can still feel very copypasted, uninspired, and predictable. They keep trying to remake the same mechanics, ex: new skull throne = sotek sacrifices, and I would really prefer they improve the universal mechanics or add new ones especial for the lategame. Still waiting for a dawn of war style army painter too.
I do hope its lifespan is increased as there’s a lot left to put in. Ind and Kuresh need to be filled in, nippon could be added although I doubt it’ll ever be added. We’ve a few cathay dragons to be added, lots and units to be sprinkle around the existing factions and some mechanics overhauls for certain lords and hero’s. We’ve the big stuff like Nagash and Thanquil. As neet as a 40K game would be I do hope they eventually get to do an AoS as it’s not got many games compared to the others. Although that’d be a long way away. Definitely should do 40K first.
I really want to see DLC or rework for every race that came out prior to Warhammer 3, the undead trio, the elf trio, Bretonnia, Lizardmen, Skaven, Norsca, Beastmen, along with Slaanesh as the last Monogod race and hopefully Ind and Kuresh before Warhammer 3 is finished.
As far as 'What could possibly be added at this point' goes - remember, Total War Battles: Warhammer? The mobile spin off thats likely never gonna release at this point. That one head loads of obscure characters - very different direction from the main game. I'd love to see Kap'n Skabend, Snorko the Cunning, Vorgaz Ironjaw, Gregor Martak, Bazrak Bolgan etc added. When Total War Arena was shut down, they actually ported a handful of characters over to Rome II, eventhough the art direction very much clashed. Still, welcome addition. I'd like to think that atleast some of the work that went into TWB:W could be salvaged aswell.
If it sells well and the game keeps an fairly large active userbase I am pretty confident we will get most of the stuff we want. Ind/Koresh and other race packs besides DoW is probably a bridge too far but I think we will probably get most stuff people want for the existing races.
At that point they will make warhammer 4 to milk more money and come out with things like ind kuresh and nippion plus of course dogs of war if it doesn’t show up in this game and niche and very unlikely but Araby
Khorne and Orcs are intriguing me, orges maybe they can make them actually fun for me. And well we still need the map areas for Kuresh and Ind opened up just for the sake of the gameplay as it is now, let alone for Ind and Snakemen.
I means they could sell their own old world version to make more dlc , i means like every electors count one , plus a bigger chaos wastes (internal conflit between chaos) , ... isn't warhammer their first income by the way (for the last 2-3 years)
Gnome DLC incoming. They are canon again, thanks to WFRP, and there is even an illustration of one in the Old World rulebook (see page 320). Probably not gonna happen, but who knows?!?
Hardlight make a lot of money for sure from their Sonic mobile games and you'd be surprised how much Angry Birds still makes. Sports Interactive literally makes one game a year, Football Manager, and its a guaranteed multi million seller every year.
The problem with this game lies at the heart of the game itself. The DLC'S are not the issue. They covered the problems of the second one with the problems of the third. The third was rushed. The game itself is bad. Until they fix the core of the game, nothing will change. Layering DLC'S on top of a broken product wont change anything.
I'm extremely excited for this DLC....but to be honest the mystique of the FLC lord and hopefully a unique campaign mechanic if you lose a battle sounds like an actual change to a campaign that isn't an artificial difficulty increase like belagars upkeep then mash 4 powerful early game lords in between you and karak eight peeks.
Also to retouch on the actual subjects of DLCs, I think with most of the team focusing on the next big title and us being left with more of a team the size we got during WH2s size. I would seriously doubt they continue releasing packs with 3 Lords. I think a return to 2 fleshed out lords with better freemium content and overhauls and or fixes to certain race traits and mechanics is what we will see. But then again, they clearly saw what we will do with our wallets when things don't live up to the price tag. They know tying a bow on this trilogy before trying to move us onto 40k is a must so maybe the actual last DLC we will see is finally Nagash and Thanquil and then once the end times is shown they'll probably give us a teaser trailer for a 1 year to 6 months out release date for 40k. With the promotions of like "The end times may have come but in the Grim Darkness of the future there is only war!" then cut to the teaser of 40k. They won't want each Warhammer game to compete with itself especially. Doesn't make sense financially when you have Warhammer and total war fans that would then have to choose between buying a fully-fledged new game with all new mechanics and playstyles versus quality DLC that can continue playtime for potentially hundreds of hours.
I am hoping the longer time going into this DLC is them figuring out a new work pipeline for making DLC after the layoffs and stuff plus dealing with the new patch system they have going on.
The biggest limit for dlcs in my opinion would be the size of the map. Unless the map is greatly increased in size, it is running out of space for legendary lords to start. Opening Ind and Kuresh would probably not be enough
Modders already increased the map and even add new ones and we are talking about actual devs. People have really low expectations after shadow of change, maybe that was the plan from the begining?
I just hope they crank up the output to 3 Dlcs/year....and when it comes to Ind&Kuresh i wouldnt mind if they just release a proper mapexpansion (also other spots on the map, looking at the NE of cathay and also adding some more stuff to naggarond) and fill it it with the usual suspects (savage orcs, Beastie Boys, lizardmen and order colonys etc)
It'd be nice to see, but with the rate of delivery for WH3 DLC I'm not too hopeful. Pretty much everything we've gotten has taken 8 or more months; we're going to run up against the effective limit of support for the game at some point, and with no direct sequel this time around that limit isn't "indefinite as long as the sequel gets delayed" like WH2. The problem so far has just been the lag time between DLCs, tbh; if they can turn that around somehow (via Sophia's involvement or otherwise) then maybe, but if we keep having these long stretches between releases, there's just not going to end up being that much.
If everything goes great for Sega, there might be a future where we could say, "Yes, they're putting the Snakemen of Kuresh in the game, and it's all thanks to Shadow the Hedgehog" !
you all remember spartan: total warrior? great game... and that was it for total warrior. you know what would really kick ass? if they FINALLY brought it back as...WAR-HAMMER: total warrior with several different campaigns instead of just the one character. with the same kind of action oriented game-play. with all the hype space marine had, fantasy should have its own somewhat similar version of this. could be another gold mine for Sega.
I’m actually setting aside some money to buy this whole DLC! Orcs, Khorne, Ogres, this DLC is a dream for me! I hope there’re more DLCs to come, if the game ends soon, so will my money to CA, I’ll maybe Buy Three Kingdoms, but after that, these games are rough on a PC. I’ll be done with Total War for good. Immortal Empires will give me fun for decades to come anyway
I don’t think warhammer 3 is going away anytime soon until they can make another total war that is just as reliable of a game, total war warhammer is their main game and a lot left to offer for it, including map filling of ind and khuresh which are literally already there
I was really excited to see the hobgoblin hordes, ind and kuresh when TW3 came out and was convinced they would happen. What's happened instead has been a major let down 2bh.
I see no downside to perpetuating WH3s lifespan with dlc until they think the opportunity cost of dev time spent on WH3 noticeably outweighs the profitability elsewhere; or they think they can migrate players to a bigger title like 40k because it’s cannibalizing their sales there. I just hope they see the value in diversifying their ongoing product offerings. Although, WH3, 40K, and a Med3 might be too much for some of us to handle 😅
A easy way they could milk Warhammer fantasy, is make either another game release or expand this game for "more eras" so either as they pay on even more lords and such they can slightly redesign and reuse the map, or even as Warhammer Old World releases more they can add it to their rosters.
What would you think of a Warhammer 4 consisting of Araby, Ind, Kuresh, and Nippon? Do you think they could finally achieve naval battles on the new engine?
we NEED the moots halflings as a faction or empire subfaction. also places like border princes, tilea and estalia cant stay empire clones. ofc id love to see ind and nippon included and the faction roster further filled out with the dogs of war, hobgoblin khanate, nagash, albion, araby, the eastern norscans... heck id even welcome amazones but that wont happen
I am not sure if the halflings is not much more something for hardcore-fans of Warhammer tabletop, while many others who did not got into the game that way will not be that interested in that kind of battle-humor. The halfling units are not veryones taste...Ind, Nippon, the Snakemen may sell much, much better.
Idk on our current pace, we’re looking at maybe one dlc in 2025 and if we’re lucky another in 2026? If the next big title doesn’t drop by then, maybe more? I really want the scope expanded but unless they do some smaller scope, more frequent dlc’s, there’s not much more they’ll have time to do. I’d love to see a lot more content but it may not be in the cards
I always believe the original intention for Warhammer 3 is to make it last for at least 10 years, because that is a typical lifespan of Paradox game ever since CK2 released, and Total War has been copying Paradox model for its releases since at least Total War: Rome II (that is base game, follow by multiple DLCs). It is just that unlike Paradox, Total War used to only have one active game at a time (when Attila released, Rome II support ended, and Attila's support ended when Warhammer released) so their historical game only has very few DLCs compared to Paradox's Games. However, ever since Warhammer development exist in parallel with Three Kingdoms, it is pretty obvious to me that some higher up in CA wanted to copy Paradox model even further (multiple games supported for multiple years). At least until some other higher up push Heynas and screwed over the Total War team, but thankfully that is over now. So I always put 10 years as the minimum support length for Warhammer 3. So to be honest, when thinking about "scope" it never comes to me that people thought after Slaanesh and Dogs of War DLC CA will end Warhammer 3 support. At bare minimum, I always predict that every single race will get at least one DLC during Warhammer 3 (including Vampire Coast, Norsca, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, etc. Though Bretonnia might be relegated to FLC). Personally, when talking about "scope", I am thiking about "will they remake Immortal Empire so Naggaroth and Soutland get bigger?", "will they add Ind, Kuresh, or at least add more subfactions?", "will they add Chaos Realm?", or "will they add mini campaign like in Warhammer 1". And based on how happy SEGA is with Total War, my answer it yes. I remember CA said that they are changing the map again for 6.0, which most likely mean they add a few more settlement. But with Skulltaker seems to be located in Lustria, maybe they are actually tweaking Lustria (and Naggaroth) so it is now bigger in Immortal Empire? And if that is the case, then we have a good few years before they are touching Ind and Kuresh, which hopefully allow them to negotiate with GW to allow them to make new armies for them (and Nippon and other races). In fact, I think there is a slim, but not impossible chance we are getting a standalone expansion covering only the Far East which allow CA to justify creating Ind, Kuresh, Nippon, and other races that GW hasn't made. With the way SEGA talking about how important Total War: Warhammer is in ensuring better financial report for them, it is not impossible that they want to make a bigger product (though not too big) for bigger return. Though again, this is only a (very, very) slim chance.
I bet the number of WH3 DLCs will correlate directly to when TW40k releases & how successful that launch is. Probably as soon as CA sees it at drawing players over, they'll move every hand over to build 40k DLC instead.
I don't think they will ever do Ind and Kuresh, it's too much work for them. After the one coming soon there will be another 2 or 3 big DLC's max and the game will "finish" in early to mid 2026 as they will want all hands working on whatever is next, be that 40k, Star Wars or whatever.
Hey nathan have you made a video about bretonnia what they could do to revive that race i havent played them my self since i think they are pretty boring to play for me atleast but missing units and what not you got they knowledge and i dont 😅
I dont see a reason why they should cut support for this game. It has a high player base and interest, and its clean money stream if they dont fuck this up. Only problem is the price cuz lots of games can be bought for cost of few lords and units, if they rised it they are certein of this action profifibility. Dumping this game to trash should be a big red flag for ALL total war players. That would mean you can NEVER trust that this company will handle a big long term project. I mean most companies don't have that trust but if you are seling a promise for 8 years and dont deliver... then why smeone should buy something from you ever again. Long story short - they can screw me over once.

I want a Warhammer 40k Total War.
@@TheGreatBookofGrudges its really too many lord packs in a row, for every like 2 lord packs we should be getting a new race
@@frozzytango9927 40K is just Fantasy turned into Autism.
Just give us a seige rework already
Quick question why in the instant gaming website there is a total war Star Wars and you can add it to the wishlist when I was checking out the website when I look up total war and it showed up kind of weird
We'll see after this DLC, if the next one comes 8 months after, I can't see us getting the amount of DLCs we want, but if it takes 4-5 months it would mean that CA is back on track and that we can be optimistic.
Let them make quality dlc rather than quantity, as long as it's good content I don't mind waiting 9 months.
I do think if you are a developer and there's a lore to keep mining, its easy money to keep making DLC. Certainly dogs of war and some of the peripheral 6ed stuff should be popular and not require huge investment from the company.
@@Lallunalapruna123 That's not how it works, they aren't paradox. it's more likely they'll just go onto a new series.
My guess is that next one will be quite sooner. We all know past few months have been a wild ride and finally they seem back to stability.
@@user-ez9ng2rw9c I suspect so too, given the leak seamed to show they had other plans which where dropped, but I guess we won't know till we know
If CA actually extended WH3's lifespan, nothing would make me happier. I'm not interested in 40k, I'm not interested in WW1/2. I want WH3 to have the treatment it deserves. I wish I had a bigger voice to let CA know this. I want WH3 to keep going, and I'm more than happy to keep buying DLCs for it.
With a better campagn multiplayer yes
I am interest in 40k but if they dump that game then I am not interest in anything.
I want WH4 to happen where they focus on just the immortal empires gameplay with the entire map explorable and expanded
If 40k turns out great with the new engine, then I want a Warhammer 4! (with naval battles).
IND? KURESH?
Araby and Nippon
Realm of Chaos? (but like, good)
@@michaelmorton6566 Unless they rework the Southlands to add extra space to implement Araby, then I don't see them.
Isn't that what the in-between updates are meant for? Giving some minor reworks and new units?
@ it certainly helps a little.
@@MithrilRoshiIn theory yes. Personally, I haven't played the game in 5 months
Doubt it
They can, but unfortunately I don't think they will.
@@mhaghverdian06probably FLC sprinkled in updates if we are lucky.
U don’t need a hobgoblin hero when you have the champ
Hobgoblins are trash anyways
There is soooo much more they could do with this game... they could milk it for a long time. Cathay alone could easily do 2 or 3 more DLCs. Dogs of War, Southern Realms, Ind, Kuresh, Nippon, Araby....
Race packs are very much desired but hobgoblins or halflings is just underwhelming. They should go big. Nagas of Khuresh will sell like hot cakes.
I think they will combine the Amazon warriors with the Khuresh snakemen to fill out the race. The recent Blood Bowl Amazonion faction did this.
Ind being basically Chaos but good is interesting too.
A chicken riding Halfling doomstack obliterating Nagash (When, WHEN, he comes) would be the cherry on the cake.
I don’t understand why GW would not want to let CA to release Tomb Kings DLC with the Old World stuff.
Still waiting for Nagash.. :'C
and a propper siege rework where those pocket ladders are gone!
New races like Khuresh, Ind, Nippon would definitely sale and extend the lifespan. I mean imagine 3 more races, maybe not as big as Cathay, but like Kislev or Chaos Dwarves. Would definitely show that they are going for the long run. Take my money plz.
Warhammer 4: Forgotten Factions. Khuresh, Ind, Nippon, Hobgoblins, and Araby plus even more impressive Immortal Empires map to accommodate them. Sold.
We NEED more RACE PACKS, they are all so interesting and we deserve it after saving CA's ass with ToD DLC.
If they expand the lifetime of Warhammer 3 maybe that means bigger chances of Ind, Khuresh and having a full roster of Dogs of War!
Please, make it happen!!
Ind, Kuresh and Nippon at least. Complete the map, please!
Warhammer 2 had 4 years of content before the release of warhammer 3 and warhammer 3 is intended to be the ultimate warhammer fantasy game in total war, they could easily reach 5\6 years of new content

8.0 Dogs of War(Borgio + Lucrezzia + Marco + Lietpold)

If we get 2dlcs/year heres how CA could finish Warhammer before 2027
Obviously Ind and Khuresh as races are out of the option however:
2025 June - Slaneesh, High Elf, Monkey king ( Ind opened up )
2025 December - Dogs of War
2026 June - 2 Requested lords with Thanquol at the front ( Khuresh opened up)
2026 December - Nagash/Bloodlines + Endgame Crisis
Throughout these years Bretonnia/Lizardmen/Undead/Norscans would get their free reworks.
its 2027 and CA moves onto something else but Total War Warhammer is now truly a complete experience for 600 euros
( with hopefuly sieges, order and corruption reworked as well )
Makes sense, adding to that a Tzeentch FLC probably.
Scale it down to the dlc model of Warhammer 2
The current rate, price and content is only appealing to fans not more casual players. It makes the price of the game more intimidating. And people start thinking "Is this dlc really worth the price of an indie game?"
Also, the release rate of Warhammer 2's dlc made sure to bring people back to playing the game, increasing its player count. Which also increases the likelihood of the game being featured on the steam store page. Attracting more players and old players.
Like it or not, for total war to do better they need more players and more sales. Ultimately quality > quantity here, but, there's an art to dlc sales and pricing.
Not only an indie game to be honest. Top tier AAA too, it just not the newest.

@kapixniecapix3869 if a modder can do it, why not the official developer team
@@kapixniecapix3869 They could add it.
Its kinda scary to think where the community will be once support for Warhammer Total War 3 will be cut. There will be no game set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe being worked on (what with Vermintide 2 being in maintenance mode) being actively worked on.
I’m really hoping they Add Kingdom of Ind, and Dogs of War.

I wouldnt be paying for something we already have, boris, the red duke and sarthorael must be free
@Lallunalapruna123 I do think that they will use others LLs for the DLC and adds them with it.
ostanky should be a subfaction with her unique roster limited to her. I tough they will do it before realese but hey went lazy and now kostaltyn is runing with forest beasts.

@@kapixniecapix3869 they should give a share of the campaign units. Kostaltin should use more basic units for his campaign I think.

Depends.
If the development time is *this* long, we can only hope the DLCs are much, *MUCH* more content-packed to make up for the wait.
Our silver lining are the *interim patches* that are released progressively, which improve the game MASSIVELY over time.
Small, but substantial improvements.

A new one is released every year. It's not a cash cow the size of Fifa for EA, but like Fifa it is also a game that's essentially the same every year, with very minor adjustments other than an updated database. I can't imagine the costs being anywhere near the ones involved in producing Total War games.
Yes, please gimme Nippon, Ind and Khuresh
I love your optimism. My concern is that the momentum won't be there in the community if they keep releasing the DLCs at this glacial pace
Definitely should do 40K first.
they should release one lord at a time instead of waiting forever to release 3 at once
As a huge ogre fan this is huge I'm excited AF after seeing how they did nurgle I'm ready for that over hull for my big bois.
If it sells well and the game keeps an fairly large active userbase I am pretty confident we will get most of the stuff we want. Ind/Koresh and other race packs besides DoW is probably a bridge too far but I think we will probably get most stuff people want for the existing races.
Give Nippon the Cathay treatment, please!! I need it to tie me over until Shogun 3 in 15 years!
Do you really want a Shogun under this CA? It would actually be a garbage game in every sense of the word, brother.
2027? Even that is dream land.
We probably will have support for longer than that
@@devinphillips8085 "Support" as in DLCs or substantive content? I seriously doubt it, friend.
Also to retouch on the actual subjects of DLCs,
I think with most of the team focusing on the next big title and us being left with more of a team the size we got during WH2s size.
Where can I get that wallpaper?
Funny that the 'no AoS, no End Times, EVER'... People have changed their tone so much Iver the last couple of years.
I would play the Hell out of a Halfling DLC! It would be amazing! I wish that the Halfling mod that existed for Warhammer 2 was available for WH3. 😢
I love it. The more the better, the dlc brings me back in and buying little plastic men is way too expensive
Rumours are stupid, GW themselves said they made an entire 8th edition army book for them. (Cathay)
Make a DLC that improves sieges and I'm sold. I think is the only element lacking besides AI improvements and maybe some better campaign MP support?
For how big the map is it’s pretty compact and tight
Wish they’d reconsider Araby. Unlike Kuresh, Ind and Nippon, Araby has much more to work with.
I just hope that CA add anything that there is before leaving TWWH project.
I like idea of lord packs but imo what this game desperately needs is harder campaign AI. That is enemies who attack in stack. Nerf Lighting strike.
I hope it goes well, maybe Kuresh? NIPPON!
I want Araby.
Araby and Dogs of War just makes sense.
Could I get a new dlc to make the beastmen more fun. No, but I can get DLC's with new units for them, and that is the closest I will ever get.
I imagine that Tilea and Estalia atleast will become minor Dogs of War factions, if not major ones.
No, halflings are boring!
@@drafezard7315 halflings are fun and unique
Even just a landmark that you can build there to recruit those units would be cool, better than nothing.
I just hope that another DLC for WH3 won't take another 8 MONTHS. Seriously, CA is now on good path - now it's time for them to pick up the tempo...
I hope we get a law faction before an end times dlc
I don't think they will ever do Ind and Kuresh, it's too much work for them. After the one coming soon there will be another 2 or 3 big DLC's max and the game will "finish" in early to mid 2026 as they will want all hands working on whatever is next, be that 40k, Star Wars or whatever.
Hey nathan have you made a video about bretonnia what they could do to revive that race i havent played them my self since i think they are pretty boring to play for me atleast but missing units and what not you got they knowledge and i dont 😅
I still want character packs so we can get more LHs and LLs without the whole DLC setup
Araby doesn't even require expanding the map but still we don't get it from CA... :/
hopes still up for Khuresh! long live Warhammer Total War
im ready for a WH40K Total War! i wanna play iron warriors or The leagues of Votaan
My completely unrealistic wish is that we could have the game expanded to have naval combat.
