      I don’t know to be honest, I’ve read some really popular books and loved them, unpopular books that were great, but also some popular books that were awful.
      A Good Girls Guide to Murder was very popular a while ago, and I think it was totally worth the hype. However I HATED The Cruel Prince. And Five Survive was a DNF for me.
      However, Where The Crawdads Sing isn’t a very popular book but it’s my all time favourite.

If I may offer a little tip for your vertical videos filmed with a front facing camera, consider doing an image flip of the screen to ensure it's not in a mirror image form. Particularly the text, titles, and covers of the books. Not only is this aesthetically pleasing and accurate looking, but it allows viewers to be able to READ the text when it's not in a mirror image form 😊

    FINALLY someone who appreciates Colleen Hoovers books, i dont really care of she has done something controversial, i just enjoy reading her books! I think her books are very well written and fast to read. You are literally the first person who didn't bash CoHo for "romantacizing" abusive relationships in It ends with us. I definely don't think she romantacizised them. I think she told a story in the POV of a person in an abusive relationship, and how it may be hard for someone to let go of the abusive partner even when they know they should. It was a raw story for sure but she did not romantacizise abusive relationships, but rather took us on a journey to show what can happen behind closed doors in an abusive relationship. Her writing was beautiful and captured the emotions well. I also loved Reminders of him. It was so good and i was so sad for Kenna😭💘 But im so glad you liked her books and didn't hate on her for random stuff.!!

    • @JustAli
      @JustAli  Рік тому +32

      Yeah I honestly don’t understand how it ends with us romanticizes abuse at all. I thought Ryle was awful and not romanticized AT ALL. Except for in the beginning before he was abusive but I interpreted that as her showing how abusers can be charming, attractive, successful, etc. Anyone can be an abuser which is so scary and I thought it was very real and raw that Lily went through so many conflicting emotions about the abuse and how hard it was to leave. Anyway thank you for your comment!

    --------
    I am adding one of my reply's to a comment to this comment because I think this is important.
    --------
    I have nothing against this creator or her content, but I do have something against colleen hover books because of some of the points of having women be in abusive relationships and excusing the abusers, not only excusing but Romanizing them. And also the only abusive relationship that is ever even recognized as a abusive relationship is in it ends with us, when in reality all of her books have abusive and manipulative relationships but they are not recognized as that. Also I don't like the incest themes that she likes to add to books. I have many more reasons and points but I have nothing against the creator. I understand why many people like her books, it is mainly because many colleen hover books are easily consumable, if you have not read in a long time or don't like to read, you might really enjoy her books for that reason. As a big reader, there is just better literature out there to discover. I would suggest that you watch videos on people who don't enjoy her books to get perspective and then form your own opinion. My first comment was made as a joke and I personally have nothing against this creator or you. Thank you!

      @@emmaburch9940 I have nothing against this creator or her content, but I do have something against colleen hover books because of some of the points of having women be in abusive relationships and excusing the abusers, not only excusing but Romanizing them. Coho definitely doesn't deserve the hate she gets. It ends with us romanticises abuse in no way, and I don't get why people who have never been abused would know. I personally don't really like nor read her books, but that's just a personal choice. I am just not a fan of her writing, and that's okay. I do recommend Verity for anyone who likes thrillers and her books.

I think colleen hoover books give you a reality check and make u understand the perspective of other people and makes us more empathetic towards them.

      Honestly I’d say you shouldn’t rlly read most of her books- some of them are ok like reminders of him but other ones like it ends w us and November 9 are just rlly bad, just cuz a lot of the topics in her books that shouldn’t be normalized are and it’s kinda gross too- (there’s also like incest or incest adjacent stuff in almost all her more popular books)
