Combination of cold and cave diving makes this experience even more challenging.
I'll stay up here with fresh air
I will second that! :-)
Amen to that.
Big time.
Same
I feel so claustrophobic just watching this
Yea If you accidentally knock out your air supply you're dead!
Film about diving where there is apx 5% diving shots - bravo ! 👍🏻
No kidding. This could have been a pretty good video but there is no substance, no information. At the very least they could have told us why they only do this in the winter.
Hahahaha just watched it terribe!!
For anyone wondering what these guys get to see for the first time that nobody else has ever seen, it's rocks and water. That's it.
Well, it doesn't look like it's really the "first time" with all the guiding ropes drilled to the bottom.. looks almost like a tourist attraction.
@@HawaiiGuitar there’s rooms in the cave no one else has ever mapped or even seen before. Like the video says, no one knows how far or how deep the cave even goes. So yes, there’s lots to see for the “first time”
@@undrwrldsk8fred Thank you for the explanation! You're right, now it makes sense.
Lmao. I know! Like, congrats bro. You crawled for a long time. And then crawled out. Wow.
@@HawaiiGuitar u go down there then.
2 primal fears combined - claustrophobia and fear of drowning. How fun!
These fools are going to fuck around and find, "The Thing".
Joe Biden's Shotgun ? What's the thing?
Joe Biden's Shotgun its a movie search it up
Crimson Clipz oh my god...
I so wish they had more shots of the actual diving.
As always a lot of talking and very little substance.
+Tony Wade Yep. Just trendy yuppies with expensive gear talking about their feelings. National Geographic is a pathetic vestige of its former self, worse than Outside magazine.
What, about 50 secs of actual cave footage, all told, in 7 minutes of video? I'm a cave diver and can say there's hundreds of better-filmed and more exciting cave-diving vids on UA-cam.
+Lezuum I think NG sold out to North Face or REI.
I agree. Stop with this hipster array stuff and give us real content.
So true.
Yeah... I always heard stories about dangerous dives in caves.
The number 1 danger i heard about was diving a very long cave that has lots of dead ends that look exactly like the way you are supposed to go and when you pick a wrong one you get out of oxygen to cemplete the "trail".
Now all i wanna see is a pov of a diver who goes down one of those labyrints.
Seems like the "GoPro" was invented in vein...
If anybody knows of such a video (without blabla and actual footage oft the critical parts), please tell me or comment with a link or something.
Sike... the cameramen were the first people to enter the cave
Yup. Cave diving is one thing I'll be passing on. Way too much risk versus reward. Once your in a cave, you done if anything goes wrong. To scary for me
*too
I’ld love to atleast TRY IT once.. just like sky diving..
yep
There is no reward.
I’ve been caving a bunch, but the concept of doing underwater is fascinating. You probably see some amazing sights.
Skip to 3:00 if you value your time
+xxxLel c0d_iZ da gretust_xxx Hashtag Skip the whole damn thing and go for a real cave-diving video.
Thanks for that.
Bullpup Baggins .. thanks a lot..
thankyou
Bullpup Baggins bless you
Donald Cerrone brought me here
Yeah hahah
honestly
Nate same
Same, just watching him on Joe Rogan right now.
yep
I like so much this expeditions, explores caves underwater etc it's very magic! Hail from Brazil, são Paulo!
These guys are gonna screw around and find some monsters down there
A swimming yeti 😁👌
I love it (L)Youre doing some incredible discovering guys...I LOVE IT!
This is still the recreational activity that I want to participate in the most, but at the same time am more scared of then any other activity, including skydiving, base jumping, and wing suit flying... Holy shit, I want to do this so bad but I am so scared of my light running out or getting trapped underwater in one of these caves that I am scared that I will never get a chance to experience it myself...
Im going to earn cave diver certification soon, really the thought its not that scary. If a light runs out you carry a back up light. Your buddy has a light and a back up light. No problem at all. If the line breaks theres ways to go about resurfacing. Get out there and do it, if you die it would have been doing something awesome.
"recreational activity?" get your facts straight. its technical diving.
tankmaster1018 take with you a good supply of alprazolam
tankmaster1018 What is life without risk
tankmaster1018 i
Is there a reason y’all only do it during the winter?
Sam Nelson As this is a part of a river the water flow is too strong in summer when the snow has melted in the mountains upstream.
Maybe it has to do with the water visibility is much greater during the winter months, making it a little bit safer
Monsters might be hibernating , that’s why 😛😃
I don't know what I'm doing with my life anymore.
Jesus is the way ask him he will give you the way out to explore a new life
MAYDA PEREZ don't make me throw up
Outta my league..but i enjoy watching
Go diving with sharks....
Wow! How amazing! They go and risk their lives to go and see dirt underwater. Somethings I’ll never understand
Why does this feel so intense like there in a mission to save humanity but there just going in a cave. Well not just going in a cave what you do is amazing guys just saying feels intense great video and amazing job by the diving team
Editing
I am a diver currently working on my DM and Sidemount. I have an increasing fascination with cave diving that is starting to worry me.
So addicting to watch...imagine what it must be like to do!
May your dives be many and your life long.
“If you are not thinking right” is what describes the whole endeavor
So three seconds of cave diving in a seven minute video cave diving video? What the freak did I waist my time for!
so altitude, cave and under ice!! WOW Would love to do a dive like this, one day!! :) what a dream!
amazing filming! kudos
Riktigt häftig video 👍🏼
Is really beautiful yet scary ...I wonder if some wild something won't come out at them at any point. .....lol.....looks beautiful and peaceful
Ursuit is awesome. I'm happy to be one of the ursuit's family members :)
That looks terrifying.
Loved this video, such an interesting and intense group of folks. Do they only dive in winter? And if so, why?
I think it is too have easier access to the caves with all the equipment. I'm not completely sure though.
Oh! Looks like nice holiday!😁😁😁
Just tell it like it is guys, you are hunting pokemons down there. gg.
Nnnnnope.
Orca that wears a tinfoil hat
Nice!
Beautiful. I wonder what created that pattern on the cave walls?
Yeah. Its really pretty.
***** Thank you David, very kind of you to answer :-)
+Michael Moorlock it's also pretty too!
Water
Erosion
Those bubbles will stay trapped forever on the roof of that cave. That somehow makes me sad
Forever? They will pop
how can they do this when its so cold omg
Most commenters are so missing the point. This is absolutely beautiful! It captures the the pure passion for the sport! This is not about the dive, it's about the people. I'd love to join them any day. Thank you for this beautiful short film.
So? It dosnt matter if it’s beautiful, I’m not risking my life going in a small cave because it’s eye candy.
@@justanormalinvestigator2640 But would you drive your car to a national park or museum? Every activity in life has risk. A cave diver spends a lot of time and effort to make sure his dive is as safe as it can be. Not going is safer, however the same holds for that drive to the museum - which is also eye candy.
@@ErikH83 but cave diving is especially risky, bad comparison. If that's what you wanna do tho, go for it.
@@seife41 It can be risky when done by divers without proper cave training. Too many people have unfortunately died in caves due to not being properly trained and prepared with adequate safety measures or becoming complacent. They became statistics and gave it a bad reputation. But at least it keeps the caves from getting too crowded ;)
@@seife41 how many people die a year in car accidents? I know not many humans cave dive. But driving your car is a huge risk in itself we just don't think about it because its second nature at this point.
i wonder if they listen to soothing black metal while they dive
obi juan I understand what you mean😂...go to oslo
Divers often wish we could jam out while down there... Unfortunately a significant number of potentially deadly complications are first noticed by the sounds they make. You’d be amazed how fast and far sound travels underwater
Yes, some peaceful Brodequin 🤪🤘
I could never do this. I would panic so bad.
Great footage of amazing cave diving. National Geographic at it's best.
So amazing I'm going to try this someday!
This is so beautiful, but deadly, at least for me it would be! Is there a reason why they only dive this cave in the winter? Seems like it would be warmer to wait until summer, but I am sure there is a good reason that a couch potato like me wouldn't know. Have fun guys, and stay safe!
During the summer animals specially predators tend to come out specially during the spring so it’s best to avoid any underwater cave exploration unless you want to meet with a huge fish that could potentially eat you or some other creature. Almost all animals including fish are going through hibernation or are sleeping during the winter too so you are all on your own with no one to bother you or you bothering the ecosystem too much.
While huge fish is not normally a very big danger in Bjurälven, the current is... Summertime the current can be up to 20 knots and it is impossible to enter the cave. This is why we go wintertime, when the current is much weaker. Also, during winter we can drive snow mobiles and this allows us to bring in our equipment while making least possible impact on the nature in the Bjurälven nature reserve.
Great production value but wish that we could have seen more of the actual dive and better footage there
My father used to do this after I was born, he's a professional diver.
I'll enjoy it through your eyes...tks..
I got cold just watching this
As a cave diver, I would to understand why they dive in the winter. Do the caves drain in the warmer months? Are the mosquitoes unbearable? Is it just easier logistically because you can use the frozen rivers as transportation roads?
Imagine first person to ever try it and comeback like it’s fine 💀
If no one ever was there how is there a guideline ? 😂 But very nice Video
natural buoyancy lvl 9999
Thank god I haven’t reached this stage of desperation yet.
Be safe out there, my brothers and sisters.
1 bad incident lights out well and truly
pretty cool
3:34 someone dropped the shovel
why do you go just in winter. can you go in summer as well?
I wonder if air pockets just keep getting bigger...like in deep deep underwater caves...more divers bigger air pockets?
I’m about to start cave diving training in 3 weeks
I’m literally just here out of curiosity
Does anyone have a source on the music?
were can i find the whole documentary
Nervousness the cause before failure, fear and Death
Don't know why I read it as underwear cave diving... It piss
I read it as underwater cave digging lol
+Crash Bandicoot it divening
ma lord
In your underwear there's one cave no one will dare dive into
literally a minute of footage from the cave.
Darc Gibson and?
good point
Yes, that's what's in the video
These people are crazy :D
This makes me cold...
4:20 is beautiful
It's like space on earth
But why dive it in the winter? Just dive in the summer, when its warmer and there is one less danger to encounter while diving
This is why I live in Los Angeles. Looks cold.
underwater spelunking is bad enough, but during the winter when the water is frozen over?? absolutely not lmao
To each it’s own. Personally I find this to be claustrophobic, without the fact that it’s super risky. Don’t mind the pictures; but doing it myself? No thank you. Rather a nice beach with a cold beer as my next vacation.
wow! I'm happy ☺
Where is this ice Age place??
under water like on the out of earth
I cri evry tim
Mi too
So they are motivated by seeing something nobody else has seen before. Maybe it is unseen for good reason... there is nothing to see. Dark, cramped tunnels, and empty walls. Slight chance they might discover something noteworthy. If I was going to do something that risky I would want to be assured there is something REALLY spectacular at the destination.
Cave diving in the night solo.
Wow finnaly sweden My country
This super cool but I get claustrophobic just watching it
This was 2015...how much have they explored now??
SO this is what bruce wayne wanted the nano suit for spelunking
How are they diving in that ice water without ffm?
I feel safer going 150 on my bike than scuba diving. It’s gotta be hard to fit through those restrictions dragging 2 basketball size testies behind you
how did they find it originally?
mrballen brought me here
Dive talk brought me here.
Terrible if a change in underwater environments causes the cave tunnel and walls to suddenly crumble break im not sure if this can happen though?
Are these guys helping in Thailand ?
Andrew Rodriguez The water there might be too warm for them, lol...
My question is, why do it during winter?
How do they prevent hypothermia?
this might be the same cave that's on the documentary "diving into the unknown" where two divers died
jazmar0822 no, this is recorded in Sweden. “Diving into the unknown” was in Norway...
I would NEVER enter a cave. Never in my life... I think my biggest fear is tight caves like this...
3:06 They're actually in the water
And then BAM exploding subnautica fish comes swimming at you
Brisk my goodness brisk!!!
