Coming upon what looks to be no more than a puddle in the middle of a jungle only to jump in, realize there is no bottom, and discover an entire world below is the closest thing to a realized childhood fantasy I’ve ever seen. It’s both mesmerizing and terrifying all at the same time.

It really puts things into perspective when you realize that every single one of those stalactites/stalagmites indicates that these cave systems at one point in time weren't completely submerged for literally 10s to 100s of thousands of years.
That's awesome to think about and to remember that ~65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period a 10km wide asteroid hit right smack dab on where the Yucatan is today. Maybe that started the geological recipe that came together to make these caves.
Dove a Cenote a few months ago.. I was in the cavern section so the exit was always easily accessible. There's actually signs prior to the CAVE section that basically say "turn back or you'll die in here." It's pretty trippy but an incredible experience.
Really cool bunch of dudes, thanks for being pioneers of this age, not many people can say they've been places other people have never been. Can't wait for part two!!
Sea levels used to be a lot lower! The last Ice Age, known as the Pleistocene Epoch, began almost 1.8 million years ago and lasted until approximately 11,700 years ago. During this time, massive glaciers covered most of the surface of the Earth. Slowly but surely, the ice melts, raising the sea level.
This is absolutely amazing! They should make a tv series out of this or something! I hope that this is part 1 out of like 100 because I will watch all of them!
It's good to see that even people from other countries around the world would devote their lives to explore and protect the beauty found all over the world.

Hi Bill, Hi Toddy, great to see you both doing what you do best. Wonderful filming and lighting too. We need to make as much effort to inform everyone of the damage that's happening around us. Especially in places most people will never see. We look forward to seeing you in a couple of months in Sardinia. All the best Steve+Elin from Norway

Maybe the Mayans tried to got to the “underworld” when the sea level was far lower. They may have lived down their to escape the Spanish conquered trying to take their gold but the6 lived there for a long time and it collapsed inside or water levels raised and flooded a whole underwater civilization. We will never know exactly what happened to the Mayans and it will be forever on my mind.
It is incredible that we have people willing to take these risks, and make us more aware of our incredible earth and all her gifts, and to see the impact of all that garbage is disturbing, presently we are the first place to ban plastic bags and bottles
It’s bad enough crawling threw a cave that’s tight like that. Add water on top of that and you can count me out all of my worse fears all in one. I don’t like tight dark places, fear of drowning, fear of being buried alive. 👎. This is why I’m glad I can go to these places safely at my house! Thanks go pro! I wince when cave divers exhale bubbles. It was recently discovered that bubbles on the ceilings of caves cause pressure to build on the roof. This leads to eventual collapses of roof sections. This is what keeps trapping cave divers and killing them.
The planet will shake us off like fleas and will survive without us until eventually the sun grows in size that it engulfs the planet and at that point it'll be destroyed. 👍
What if we are built to destroy planets? Just wait until humans "harvest" every planet around us. I don't think people "want" to destroy the planet doe, its just a side effect of what people want/need right now. Humans like nature is lazy, will take the way of least resistance even if it will cause harm.
I know your right they did have sacred caves, but a cave like that was most likely used to collect and store fresh water; for in the dry season they had ample amounts for the entire city.
It makes me so sad that the earth is being polluted men 😥 Oh Lord please return. I hate my life !!! The great wonders are being destroyed but you will renew all things one day even we ourselves. Definitely! Stalagmites/stalactites in a water cave indicate that at one point it was 'dry' enough for it to grow.
