You should use the light purple dress for the reception after ur wedding
@@leila5509no looks like a pajama dress
cool! thanks mia!!
It's the socks for me Mia lol. X
I know this video is old, but I hope you stopped with the seizure inducing camera shaking thing. 🫨
Let just applaud you Mia on your word choices! “I’m not doing this dress justice” “it is a little over sized FOR ME” no body or size shaming! I absolutely love that! Thank you for being so kind to all shapes, sizes, and people! You are a real one miss (soon to be Mrs) Mia.
She is really the kindest, a real Queen
She also says "this dress is a MY nude color" and not "this is a nude" showing inclusivity and not implying that white skin is the "nude" color. Shes amazing!!
@@eliseurquhart5911 Thank you for pointing this out! I couldn’t get over her casual inclusivity
She’s Canadian… what more can one expect. They are known to be the NICEST & KINDEST PEOPLE in the World. 🇨🇦 🍁🫂🫠
@@virgiliofi Not with all that’s came out in the past years 😳
I love the fact that most everything is donated. Purchased to try on for entertainment for us and then donated for someone else to use on their special day. Mad respect, Mia.
Everyone is focusing on the dresses but like the outfit she is wearing while opening them is so cute
Same I can’t stop going back to that pale rainbow shirt it’s amazing!!!
I’m literally trying to find that shirt rn, it’s gorgeousssss
@alison ernst it’s from 2019/2020 I think, and is gone, I saw a few Poshmark ones but they’re sold…it’s so amazing!
@@alisonnumber24 It's Lirika Matoshi rainbow satin top 🙂 There's a Lirika Matoshi haul video on Mia's channel
I've seen that top on Lirika Matoshi's website and I want it so bad! It's too expensive for me though, and it's probably already unavailable.
Mia in the US you can rent dresses just like you can rent a tux so some of the dresses could be rentals that the company deemed out of fashion and decided to put them in a return palette
Mia being excited that the dresses were all different sizes so she wasn't donating only her size just shows how kind she is xx
Another angel walking among us whose wing tips tend to sneak out every so often, she's so sweet, I have only recently found the Canadian Princess of UA-cam.
I find her absolutely genuine and adorable, its nice to see someone in this generation that isn't self centered.
You dated that first dress almost exactly perfectly. A girl in my high school wore that for our 2009 senior prom. That color and everything.
Interesting, I guess that's why I found one almost identical in a thrift shop and wore it to my prom in 2016.
I’m dying at how she called early 2000s vintage 😂
@@courtneyfrandsen8448 But she's right, items are considered vintage if they are 20+ years old, early 2000's were 20 years ago.
I was thinking how it looked exactly like a bunch of dresses worn at my grade 12 formal... Then she guessed 2010 which was the year I graduated. So yep, accurate.
@@courtneyfrandsen8448 well it is considered vintage
Mia: donates her dress collection because she has too many
Also Mia: buys 25 more dresses
I think we can all relate to Mia in some way 😂
Also also Mia: will donate said 25 dresses
love her dooing dress up. Bless her for donating
Luckily for her, there’s many many more girls that would love the opportunity to get a beautiful prom dress.🥰
A true fan
I graduated in 2002, and I promise I tried on some of these styles when preparing for my prom. And now I'm vintage. Your energy is infectious!
Vintage is 40 years she was wronf
nah vintage is early 2000s
Seriously. "Early 2000s vintage" had me crying.
Ladies, all of you are wrong. I tried on all those dresses in the early 80's. Now I'm vintage. Plus...anything is vintage if over 10yrs old.
Seriously broke my heart hearing my prom is vintage 😭
The blue/purple plain dress has SOOOOO much potential with that beautiful fabric!!!
I thought the same. Gorg fabric
Agreed! Resized and shortened!
@@SarahBethBeauty yes yes yes! resized and in a tea length!
@@SarahBethBeauty And pockets!! It needs pockets!
I think she should leave it:( it's perfect as is
mia... you're such a kindhearted person. you buy a bunch of dresses that don't fit you and are excited that this time when you donate them more people will benefit. i swear...when i need a shot of thoughtful funny people being genuine mia and her family never fail. 💛
The pale blue "High Tea" dress is amazing on you and you have to keep it. Don't change it because it is perfect as it is. That goes for the short black sequin and white poof dress as well. It also looks amazing on you, as is. I didn't feel super drawn to you making over any so I would say to makeover the damaged dresses or some of the uh....less appealing ones before donation.
The black “mom” dress is absolutely beautiful and fits you SO well!!
I think what always impresses me about Mia and what keeps me coming back each and every single video is how she always manages to stay *super* positive about everything - especially hauls where even the items she doesn't like that much she'd give it a good reason why and sometimes even apologize. Isn't easy to have such a positive outlook, so thank you for brightening up my days always, Mia (and family)!
Same keep doing what you do Mia!
Am I the only one that thought she said she liked a few of the strapless dress neckline, then said she didn't like them?. It's OK I still enjoyed the video I never went to prom but I do remember trying on dresses for bridesmade and my own wedding.
I think a box like this would be so cool for like a high school to buy to help out their kids. Even if the students had to pay for the dresses themselves, $16 is a lot more doable than $50+. Or $400 is reasonable to fundraise. Love that the dresses are different sizes
Yes!! I totally agree. I think all high schools should do this. For girls and boys. I've got both and whatever they choose to wear to those things, can be so expensive.
I agree school should have a wardrobe closet on campus for students so if they need to they can be able to buy clothes and other needed things. Not all students have petsnfd able to buy expensive dressed for dance . Some don't have their perants.
Sorry but I say donate.. Some sweet little girl may not be able to go to prom if she had to pay for a dress. Even $16.00. Actually there were so many beautiful ones.
@@karinaashmon a local organization collects prom dresses around here. They also request shoes, clutches, jewelry, shawls, etc. All have been cleaned.
100% agree! my high school did a formal wear exchange which was pretty cool as well
mia’s outfits have always been cute, but she has been SLAYING the game lately
I want Mia to go dress shopping with me because she hypes every dress up even if it’s not her favorite. I need that energy in my life 😂
The blue-purple dress is STUNNING, I feel like with a few touch ups it would look amazing on you
Came here to say that!!
Exactly!!
Close to 33 minutes and I never wanted it to end! I don't know what we did to deserve you 🌸 But what I do know is how much I appreciate you!
Me toooo. 💙💜❤💖
Never end pls ❤️
I bet you say that to all the youtubers.
SAME SERIOUSLY I APPRECIATE HER SO MUCH FOR MAING VIDEOS LONGER THAN 10MIN!!!!
Wv@@RMNielsify
The black and white 90’s to early 2000’s is my favorite. I feel like some Disney channel star had this dress back in the days.
I am from 1999, so I loooove the dress - I would love to have it my self ❤️🤩
Yes! Very much a Hilary Duff "you're watching Disney channel" type dress
The black one-shoulder with jeweled trim was elegant, and the black 'Renaissance' dress with white underpinning (and stain) both looked timeless if they fit properly. Think Audrey Hepburn for both. ❤️
The dress at 27:00 is literally perfect on you! I could totally see it as an engagement party dress
Yes! I think she should keep this one
I love it on her too! Maybe something she could wear to a bridal shower!?!
Or rehearsal dinner dress!
This was my absolute favourite - I tend to prefer shorter dresses as they can be dressed up or down and you get more use out of them. Mia - you could try to add straps for comfort and perhaps add some nicer flowers/ pearls.
I thought that too!
Mia can honestly just be talking for a full hours and I'd be watching.. her energy is just so contagious 😍
LOVE her vibes😙
Saw this comment at minute 26 and had to check to make sure it hasn’t been an hour cause SAME!!!
Yep her energi is amazing 🤩
That stretchy blue one that fit you really well is a perfect after wedding "going away" dress. It looks so pretty on you.
I love how she’s holding a dirty makeup covered sweat absorbed used dress and has no qualms over it. Even trying it on. So many other UA-camrs would be, or at least act, disgusted. Makes her seem so much more down to earth and, like, a normal human!
She doesn’t just try them on, she is excited about them! Even when they don’t fit and sound like they’re made from tissue paper, she sounds like she’s genuinely happy to be trying them on and that’s so precious
@@deesid4411She is so wholesome and genuine 🥺❤️
I have contamination ocd and would definitely act like the other youtubers if I saw stuff like that on them. Nice to know I’m not normal though 😂
I'm pretty sure any woman would not want to wear someone's dirty, sweaty, unknown substance-defiled article of clothing. It's gross and definitely could be dangerous to your health/irritate your skin. It's just not smart. I hope she washed them first before trying them on, at least that wouldn't be as bad.
This wasnt just a box of returns, it was a time capsule!!!!!!
The "my nude" short dress could be fun to dye and revamp into something fun and updated!
I was thinking the same thing! I think the shape of the dress looked really pretty on Mia!!
That’s what I thought too!! She should gradient dye it!
I heard an idea to have a dinner party where the dress code is to wear whatever you never get the chance to wear but always want to! I think its such a fun idea
Very cool. In college we had themed Dinner parties. Like bringing food representing your nationality or Dressing as your Favorite Historical person.. Nerds we were!!
I think you might be the actual most wholesome person in the world, Mia. The respect you show with your careful word choices, "my nude" "on me", etc. makes me so happy and you find so much joy in the smallest things. I love watching your videos, it feels like hanging out with an old friend. I have been watching you since we were like 16 and I love that I can relate to a lot of your life experiences since we are the same age! Just thank you for everything you do Mia!🥰
The “paper dress” would be something you can wear on a date to a nice restaurant. You look fantastic in it. You should keep it.
She d have to wait for someone to invent a time travel this is very old fashioned
@@Swan.princess what’s old fashioned?
@@Swan.princess Lucky fashion is both subjective and runs in a cycle, then! Old things are always coming back into style (even parachute pants made a comeback a year or two ago!). The shape is pretty flattering on her imo, and if Mia is into it, she can totally rock it. :D
yes!! its a keeper!!!
Yes! Keep this dress! Stunning on you
I’m so in love with the purple-blue dress, I need this fabric so bad. And it suits your complexion so perfectly!! **Chef’s kiss**
What a pretty blouse Mia is wearing today! 😍
Mia please let us know where you got it!
@@ShizukaAoki it’s Lirika Matoshi, she bought it for a video
The purple blue color changing one has such a unique fabric I’d love to see it revamped!
The lavender dress and the blue one with the flower looked great on you and would be perfect for wedding rehersal dinner. I'd love to see you revamp the long black and white "Renaissance" one.
me too to the Renaissance dress!
Can we talk about how GORGEOUS Mia has been looking in these videos 🔥
This was such a throwback to the mid-2000's... I forgot about all these styles until now lol. I'd love to see the 90's/renaissance one revamped, I thought that one really suited you!
Love that one! Makes me think of a romeo and juliet vibe. Would look great with some added black lace over the white section and some gold/white accents in the black sections, maybe some floral hints
Yeah, this whole video is the prom catalog of 2001.
Total early 2000’s prom look book. I love how that’s become a throwback/retro….but I love it and accept it!
I graduated in 2009 and so many of these looked like the dresses me and my classmates wore to prom.
Another donation idea could be a drama club or amateur theater for costumes! The dresses with stains still have lots of great material you could cut off for future sewing projects!
Those places should have their own budget, and shouldn’t work on handouts.
I was born in 92, was in 8th grade in 2005, and I remember distinctly that my friend wore a dress very similar to the black and white one you showed. This video gave me a blast from my prom/graduation/school dances past. Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Was she called Nancy?
That lavender/orchid dress looked so beautiful on you!! Same with the blue dress with the flower at the waist. Please keep those for you!
I love how you can appreciate all of these “vintage” Y2K dresses! To me, they’re all a Y2K nightmare, yet when you appreciate them, you make me like them a little more 😂 I remember most of these from my 8th grade dance LOL
samee
And you saying they're a nightmare just insulted a whole lot of people!

We love a size inclusive queen!!!
I nominate the blurple (the gorgeous blue purple iridescent sheen) dress to be changed to fit you!! It’s my absolute favorite in color and neckline!
The Burgundy “tall glass of wine” dress looks amazinggggg on you!! 💕 I wouldn’t of thought of that color on you, but wow!
She should keep it and change nothing. It is just stunning! 😍
@@MissHimbeere agreeeed!!!
Agreed
24:09 Rehearsal dinner dress! The Renaissance inspired dress (it's the split with the underskirt that reminds you) is my favorite. It does wonderful things to your figure and the colors are very flattering.
Mine too
Do they have rehearsal dinners in Canada? I thought that was a USA thing.
First of all: LOVE the returned items box videos!!
And here‘s my top three favorites: 1. blue-purple dress (such a beautiful fabric! Reminds me of Cinderellas life action movie dress!)
2. burnt orange dress
3. blacknwhite renaissance meets 90s dress!
Can’t wait to see what you end up doing with them!!
Satin, crepe, georgette, taffeta, organza, crepe de chine.....those are the basic fabrics you are seeing in these dresses. I have sewn my whole life and actually managed a fabric store for several years and those are classic "prom" dress fabrics. I think that cute short lavender dress was amazing on you.....great color for you! How fun!
Yes thank you I was thinking this while watching! Definitely some taffeta, organza, crepe with all those more flowy light dresses
This would be a great thing to buy with a group of friends, especially if they are really crafty and could do some revamping :)
I’m in love with the “timeless”purple dress! it’s so beautiful and elegant perfect for any occasion.. I love how these dresses were in different and bigger sizes as well..
I hope you mean the one she felt like a tall glass of wine because she was beautiful in that!❤️
I love how she feels like a family now 🥺
I’ve never felt older then when you said “it’s vintage 2010’s” 🤣
or Y2K is coming back hahahaha
Mine would be “vintage late 1950s”
It isn’t though vintage is at least 40 years old
@cupcakejg1 nah vintage is early 2000s grandma
@@helloosasd "A vintage item would be made between 1918 and 1978" so 40 years ago you toddler
I am baffled how nostalgic these dresses have made me feel! Especially the shorter dresses were things I saw friend wear and me wanting to own them!! I feel so old now and I'm only turning 25 in a few months. 😄💜
Giro I just turned 35 and I related to most of these as well 😅 I feel ancient now.
I hope you kept the dress at 27:05. Looks amazing on you. The fit is perfect! Love how excited you are doing these kind of videos. Good purchase on the box. 😃
Sweety, I’m 57 and you are living in my clothes! Also reminds me of when I was in High School (1983) and I wore my mom’s mini-dress from 1964. The style was back in fashion. I’m glad you’re donating them. It’s hard to find larger sizes.
i LOVED the "tall glass of wine" dress on you, the color and cut seemed really flattering on you. some alterations, and it's good to go!
Sitting here at 5am in Australia feeding my newborn… I feel like I have really grown up with Mia, and now she is getting me through these hectic nights with a baby! I don’t know what I’d do without you and your creativity. Such a fun video. Thank you for everything xx
Stay strong mama!
Sending you love from Florida! The nights are long but they don’t last forever! I can totally relate and feel like I Mia has been there through so many phases of life! Always giving us some happy, cheerfulness. ❤️
This is the first time I’m messaging you here Mia.. I really felt like sharing this today..You have always been a great inspiration and you’ve always taught me how best a human can be… way to go girl 🙏🏻 lots of love to you from India 🇮🇳 and say a hi to mama maples… Her laugh makes me so content and complete as though I myself made her happy 😍 such beautiful souls you all are ❤️ Really want you and your family always stays this way 🥰🤞🏻
I feel like the light blue dress with the mud stains would look great at ankle length, and Nancy's black and white one would look cute as a mini dress? Also, the one shoulder black dress is absolutely stunning!!
Agree with you! They have soo much potential soo cute
Heads up that metallic / stiff crinkly fabric is Taffeta. Taffeta is amazing for it's capacity to carry sub-tones so the two tone shimmer is very effective!
That "cheese cloth" was likely a light chiffon or muslin or even a georgette!
The lavender "organza" is likely a heavier crepe or crepe chiffon.
Most of the "soft shiny" gowns are made of satin, silk satin and heavier satin!
That nicely fitting shorter powder blue is likely a dupioni silk or a mix dupioni with some sort of spandex. (that slubby texture gives it away. ;) )
The blue dress with the flower (tight-fitting) looked absolutely stunning on you. You should definitely keep and wear that one as it is.
I was looking for this comment! There is something about that dress that is so flattering and adorable on her. It would be a weird color on some people, but with her coloring it is stunning!
The dusty blue strapless dress with the flower on the front was my favorite. I also really loved the last long dress you tried on, the maroon one with the single shoulder strap over your right side. So simple but so elegant.
We all need a Miriam in our lives, thanks Miriam for sending the package!✨💕
This reminds me of the stuff my sister and I would see when we would go shopping at Goodwill/Savers. We used to share a fitting room and try on formal dresses for fun. Once we got nice matching bridesmaid dresses in different colors for $8 each and wore them to a Christmas party! I've seen them for $150 at a store in the mall before lol
Appreciate the comment about her noticing the construction and quality more since she's sewing more. I've been doing more sewing over the last few years and you get to a point that you can't help but analyse garments on a different level :)
I think we definitely need a re-vamp dress video!!
The Aquamarine dress was so nice! They did wear formal dresses but not in that colour but it reminds me of the top/dress she wore and her blue hair 🧜♀️
For the dress(es) with tags still, cut them off before donating! Or at least the price part, if you're donating to any place that will re-sell it. Thrift stores nowadays are charging wild prices for stuff, and if they see that the dress sold for upwards of $100 originally, they're going to overcharge for it.
No, donate and let them know that you want them given away. The people given them don’t want the tags taken off or weirdly damaged lol
Donate to High Schools. We donate our dresses to the local high school and let the girls pick their dresses out. Shoes, purses, jewelry, the whole look.
I dont think she donates prom dresses to thrift stores.
She donates them to charities
@@tiffanycooper9362 I meant only the price tag that clearly states the original price, not the actual clothing tags. People are not wearing literal price tags to prom, but alright.
I love how positive you are about everything. Thank you.
This was definitely a blast from the past. I had several of those dresses in high school and know so many girls who wore others to school dances. This was such a fun video!
I literally owned that blue dress with the pockets. This is so nostalgic for me to my mid/early twenties! We all wore them out clubbing. Would love to see you do something with the orange dress.
20:35 the burnt orange dress would be SO cute as a corset top!!!
omg yes
Mia nailed it with the '2010 vibe' on that first dress, it looks just like the dress I wore to my prom in 2010!
The fact that your wedding has a theme is the only thing giving me comfort that you'll be able to pick a wedding dress. Practically every dress you gushed over in that box!
I looove the bluish purple minimalist one!! definitely could be a fun fix-up
My prom was in 2012 and I wore that exact first blue dress! Felt so nostalgic seeing you wear it
Same! Mine was very similar lol
Had friends wearing the same style in 2007-08 grad too.
Loooove the “nightgown slip dress” you said you were keeping And the black and white “Renaissance” one if you can do anything about the stain, plain blue purple fabric one is cute too, I also actually love the burnt orange long one with the like drop corset moment. Also the dress at 22:23 is cute too and giving me a superhero goes to prom moment. Valentines dress you tore is DARLING. 27:54 is cool kinda Monster High vibes. Also I agree that that blue dress is one of the best ways I’ve seen sleeveless done
I love how excited Mia was to be able to donate different sized dresses. The fact she realizes how limiting her sizing is for people really speaks about her personality
28:27 I wore this EXACT same dress back in 2011 for my Aunts wedding. I saw it and recognized it immediately and had to dig up old pics and yup, exact same one!
Yes! Me too!
I wore the same dress to my Aunts wedding as well. I loved the pockets 😂
@@harliemariexoxo exactly! The pockets were the main selling point. Lol
I had the same dress but hot pink. Didn't wear it at my aunts wedding but at horse races. In 2011 😀
I think mama maples should try some dresses with you next time! And YES WE WANT MORE RETURNS VIDEOS WOOHOOO... Luv ya
I'm in love with the "blurple" dress! Liked several of them, but this one? Perfection
First black and white reminded my highschool graduation dress, but was above the knee and deep red wine and off white.
The nancy dress would be such a good one to flip because it’s so old and pretty!
Ooh, I love that one-shouldered burgundy dress with the lace top - I would totally buy that if I saw it somewhere! I think you should revamp the burnt orange dress and the black/white 90's/renaissance dress. They're both older styles but I think you could do something really cool with both of them!
David's bridal still has the one shoulder lace top one! I have that exact dress! 😊
@@evelingastelum4051 Awesome, thanks for the tip :)
I’d love to see mama maples reaction and try on of the ‘vintage’ black dress the memory you painted was so cute I’m sure your mum would have a similar response and reminiscence with that dress! It’s funny how we attach so much meaning to things especially clothes! Us humans are such funny cute little creature 😩❤️
I LOVED that dress and it was the sweetest memory
I absolutely love the black dress with the white peekaboo strip down the front, white bow and edging. That would totally be a dress that I would wear in the 90's right up until now!
I also loved the blue dress with the crystals down the front of it. They both looked great on you! ❤❤❤❤
Mia calling the early 2000s “vintage” made me feel too old for this channel for the first time
Same
Recently (maybe since thrifting became popular) people have commonly referred to 90s 00s as vintage even tho vintage is technically 50+ years ago idk why but it's not old!! 💗
@@veronicapietsch8017 I read vintage is 20 years and antique is 50 years old
Im 37 I feel really fricking old now hearing that
the term retro seems to be becoming less commonly used and people are referring to things within that range as vintage nowadays, expending the category of vintage items to 20+ years old but less than 100 years old.
20-40 years: retro
40-70+ years: vintage
100+ years: antique
300+ years: artifact/antiquity
First off Mia, you looked absolutely gorgeous in all of the dresses. Secondly, for the revamp of the dresses, I think it would be cool to take the burnt orange dress with the hard cut off and maybe turn the top into a corset top, and the bottom of the dress for matching bottoms.
saaaaame!
My favorite is the renaissance x 90s dress! And really looks good on Mia, she’s like Juliet from Romeo and Juliet
Mia you are so wholesome. So modest and positive and just nice. It is such a pleasure to watch you and your as equal wholesome family ❤
mia: "it feels like a bridesmaids dress"
also mia: "this dress is from davids bridal"
lol
David’s bridal does have a prom section too or at least it did when I was in high school.
A lot of these looked like David's bridal
I love the off the shoulder purple "fine lile a glass of wine" dress. And definitely the Tea Time dress for you! Love. Love. 🙂👏👌
The simple one with the blue/purple fabric looks absolutely great on you!✨🌹Although I have to admit that it's enormously hard to help chosing a dress to keep or revamp, 'cause every single one would have so much potential for a little ✨glow up✨... especially with our new professional sewer Mia😜 Love you, whatever you chose to revamp, we'll eat it up anyway🥰
i could literally be in the worst mood about something and watching mia’s videos help me feel more positive for some reason, her vibe is immaculate
These are such a throwback oh my goodness!!! I'm the same age as you and I always remember looking at the high schoolers and seeing them in these dresses and wanting them so bad. My homecoming dress was definitely black and white.
I have a feeling that someone thrifted all of these and marked them as “returns” since they are all vintage and obviously worn. Still a fun video to watch!
I loved this! It’s wonderful because you’re making sure that these dresses are being recycled and giving so many people a chance to feel beautiful.
i just love how she focuses so much on the actual content she is making but to me and a lot of others to, she is the content, her reviews upon items, intros and outros, her little jokes in between clips every now and than like honestly i could care less what mia posts as long as she is in the video i’m entertained. she’s just a very bright a positive person that i would love to be around.
Why is Mia so entertaining? This was so fun to watch!!!
Mia..you've unlocked a long lost memory for me in that black and white dress. I'm watching Confessions of a shopaholic tonight
Mia really just dropping this to make me very nostalgic. The Aquamarine reference!! I don't think they wear formal dresses, but she twists a long sleeve t shirt into a dress and I always wanted to try it
I’m obsessed with the blue/purple shift dress, I think it would be so cute to make it short with a puffy bottom!
the blue to purple dress has to be sewn up by you into something even more magical!! that fabric has so much potential!!!
This 12:20 make you actually look like a goddess
6:49 looks like a starry sky it's so beautiful
14:39 is stunning on you too. Like ready for a fancy evening
Those 3 were probably my favourites from the video
Mia, you definitely need to keep the lavender ,strapless dress and the blue, high tea dress, you look gorgeous in them and they fit you perfectly like a glove 😘😘😘😘😘
