Shan was taking return risks from the beginning. Why? To prevent Nishikori's third ball attack. Nishikori's tempo is the fastest in the world. His average rally tempo is top class. Therefore, if the third ball attack is deployed, Shan's current situation will be defensive. If Shan's return continues for a full set, he will be the world's number one a long time ago. He knew it. You can't keep taking risks and complete the match. Nishikori's condition has returned to that extent in this tournament. Shan avoided the title of losing. I've been watching tennis for many years, but I've never heard of a young player taking a risk in one set at a home tournament. This was one of the best Asian matches. Nishikori won. As much as I love Kei, as much Shang demonstrated in a few games that you have to target the angles and Kei can't run after the ball. That said Kei is still a threat and a real sniper.

Why do tennis players retire from matches so much more often nowadays? 25% and 50% for men and women respectively over the last 20 years. Even young people.

錦織はついに決勝進出した！決勝の相手はかなり格下だから勝って当たり前の状況でそういうプレッシャーはあると思うが、普通に勝てそうな気がする。全豪OPの前に一気に60位くらいまで浮上できれば全豪OPで4回戦くらいまでいければ1月で年末に言っていた目標を達成してしまう。つまりマスターズとGSにストレートで出れる状態になる。この流れで頑張れ！
