- After clearing up some common misconceptions we may have about the beloved 23rd Psalm, Pastor Voddie teaches us the significance of the biblical metaphor of a shepherd and his sheep representing God and his people.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[a]
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[b]
for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[c]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely[d] goodness and mercy[e] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell[f] in the house of the Lord
forever

I am so impressed by this pastor's knowledge and teaching ability. If he and his Church were near me, I would be there.
I was reading this Psalm as my mother left this world and entered the presence of my Lord.
At the age of 85 years, I am so very thankful to God that I discovered this ministry wish is blessing my soul and my understanding of the Bible and the gospel in a way that I appreciate and treasure. It is quite evident that the Holy Spirit is leading Brother Baucham and the work of GfBC “in the paths of Righteousness” as promised by our Lord before He returned to His Father God!
Amen. We are never too old when we walk with God and read His Word. We have an eternal relationship with Christ. This is why I enjoy my once a week Bible study I have with seniors at a retirement home. Christians for many decades and yet the Bible still keeps them in awe and teaches them.
Amen, you're still young compared to the eternity.
Psalm 23 was my saving geaxe during lockdown 2020 in family violence.

I've listened to this sermon at least 5 times! Only the believer can say "The Lord is my Shepherd"...."You don't get to Psalms 23 without going through Psalms 22". AMEN!!!
except this was written before jesus, and to try and make that about jesus and accepting jesus is such a serious error in judgement and interpretation and will shield your eyes from the true glory of God

Hi, I am 91, born 1933. I know how you feel about Voddie. I went through a lot trying to find a man of God who taught the Bible as written. Many times I thought I did, only to find disappointment. It took me nearly 2 years, and I was happy I was patient, as the Bible is always right, There are many false prophets and teachers out there.

will listen to now, Voddie and John MacArthur. They both have been given a wonderful gift. I had asked after listening to Voddie if the two men knew each other. They answered me and said there some differences but that they did know and like one another. John had been very ill a year ago and is in his 80s and it will devastate a lot of people when he passes. I know Voddie has preached at John's Masters University, that's how I found him. The 2 men have a different style of teaching, but both teach Biblical Truth. I am so happy for you that you found Voddie, he will enrich your life. God bless you in your journey through the Bible with Voddie. You are in good hands, and you'll have some fun along the way.

I AM A SHEEP IN A SPIRITUAL BATTLE... I USED TO WAKE UP AT 3 - 3:30 am with negative energy surrounding me and I now wake at the same hours and I have my Bible... TV and my phone to understand Gods Word like right now and I cry hearing explanation of my not understanding... it's a calm that I feel and I apply to my life...🙌❤️🙌

Until we see the scars on the hands and feet of the heavenly Shepherd of Psalm 22, we will not see the full grace of God's leading of Psalm 23.

I’ve always thought of this Psalm as a verse that comforts us in our trials or at the end of our life. I’ve never heard it described as a Psalm promising a good life. It’s a Psalm that brings me peace in the face of terrible trials because I know my Lord is with me.
