  • This video is an unfussy rules overview the modern strategy board game Hansa Teutonica.
    Hansa Teutonica is designed by Andreas Steding who designed Stroganov and Gugong.
    The beautiful artwork is by Dennis Lohausen (who also did illustrations for the 2020 Stefan Feld game Bonfire, Gaia Project, A feast for Odin) .
    The publisher is argentum Verlag and Pegasus Spiele recently published Hansa Teutonica Big Box.
    Images are from Tabletopia.com.

    If you like so-called "Euro games" like Praga Caput Regni, Hallertau, Great Western Trail or The Lost Ruins of Arnak then you should give Hansa Teutonica a try!

    This is a fantastic game, very interactive.
    Your rules explanations are always condensed and complete. You managed to explain every important rule in a few minutes. You should make a rules overview video of each of the games you are getting rid of before you lose them...😬

    I love this tutorial. Learned this game from your video a couple of years ago. Introducing some new friends to the game and did a search looking for your video - found several others that are all subpar in comparison. Thankfully found yours again by searching my view history - great job, thank you so much!

    Fantastic rules overview. I recently purchased this game and will play it tomorrow with my gaming group. It's going to be our first time to play this game, still in shrink. Looking forward to the play.
    Your presentation is excellent, you've earned my subscription #499.

    Thanks for this video> I would like to play the game with 2 players. Do you know the best method. Is blocking off some paths a good idea(keeps it simpler and tighter for two). Yes you could play it each players plays two factions. I saw a picture on BGG of someone who blocked off half of the routes on the england map for a tighter game 2 player game. . has anyone done that ?

      I can't imagine playing this two player, sorry! The multiplayer interaction is the key success of this game. Save it for multiplayer games and go for something else would be my advice. But I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to enjoy it with two

    After looking at your channel, you haven’t done too many of the how to videos…. Of all the games how did Hansa get on your radar?

      It's been a favourite for some years and I had taught it a good few times by the time the reprint was published. I thought, "I should make a video about that!" and jumped to it. My How to Videos don't get recommended because there's too much out there on UA-cam.

      @@UnfussyBoardGames yeah, I know they’re hard work, but your format is a little different… In a good way.
      I think about creating my own UA-cam channel on BoardGames called “… hear myself talk channel… “ ; there are so many channels. I’m sure only my kids will watch my videos; maybe.

    Where’s this game rank on your all time list?

    • @UnfussyBoardGames
      @UnfussyBoardGames  3 роки тому

      This is probably my second most played game behind Agricola. That's partly because it's a game that you can teach and play comfortably at a game group evening - but that is to its credit. The core placement/displacement/income mechanic is so good, I think it should be implemented in more designs (puts me in mind of Concordia), for me it's as innovative as say, deck building. I think I Hansa Teutonica would rank second for me!

      @beebsman4331 3 роки тому

      Ooo, that’s a pretty solid recommendation! Have you broke open Yellow and Yangtze yet? The more I look into it the more that’s becoming my next potential buy.

      @@beebsman4331 Not a hope of playing Y & Y. Here in Oxford UK, it could be June before we can play a board game with another household! My City is a massive hit with my wife's parents (we're in a bubble and so they're my game group) and also the Key has been great too. BTW I've started to use Twitter @UnfussyBG - look me up if you're on there and I'll follow you. Frustrating that I can't play Y & Y!

      Man that’s tough! I am thinking I’m going to buy the Y&Y app here pretty soon. I don’t think my wife will enjoy it so probably not worth the physical game for me, but the app implementation looks really good. Unfortunately I don’t have a Twitter. I hope you guys get to open up soon!

      @@beebsman4331 I didn't know there was an app. I don't really game online when I have the option of the cardboard version. But I don't have that option obviously. It sounds like you need to get yourself a game group!
