Corned Beef Pie for the family - Beginners Guide

  • This tutorial is based around using 'shop bought' pastry, to make this family sized pie - it's a tutorial aimed towards the beginner, but equally anyone trying to work out what they can make to while away those lazy days.
    You'll need:
    For the filling:
6 - 7 Medium Sized Potatoes (I used Maris Pipers)
    500g of Corned Beef
    60g - 100g of butter
    3 - 4 tbsp of Milk
and a good dash of salt and white pepper.
Using the shop bought pastry, cover the base and top of the pie with it - brush on egg wash to give it, that golden brown colour during cooking. Place in a pre-heated oven for around 40 mins on 200c or 180c if fan assisted/356f - Gas Mark 6. Eat it hot or is wonderful cold - it will serve minimum of 6 healthy portions plus a couple more for the next day.

Your corn beef pie is the same as I make no onion as my husband hates onion. And been British it’s nice to see the same product,s and names that I recognise this is home cooking the way my mother taught me. It’s all about feeding the family with hopefully untreated clean food. I even grow my own potatoes 🥔. Love your strait forward no fuss practical cooking. Good work thank you from a fellow home cook. 🇬🇧✝️🍷🎂🍩🍰

Seeing this video makes me hungry. I love corned beef. I love making corned beef hash. Tastes better. I would love to try this recipe but i feel the urge to add a vegetable of some kind. Not sure what would be good with corned beef but carrots sound good with corned beef. Maybe some other stuff, but not bunches. After all , the corned beef is the star of the pie. It sounds so filling and tasty and just really nice comfort food. Perfect for winter. And since you can get it together ahead of time and set it in the fridge. Handy for those days when you come home tired and can just have it ready to cook.

Oh yes adding your favourite diced vegetables would be good, maybe carrots and peas? I just love corned beef too and there's nothing better than coming home on a cold day, to some good old comforting corned beef pie 🥧 ❤️ xx
