You’re both correct.gsa comes with metal frames to carry the ally boxes.somebody has removed your frames hence your need for different footrests.
No mate BMW said the frames on the bike was the only option. I removed the frames there in my garage but he said the vario boxes wouldn’t go on but all sorted now. Thanks for comment very much appreciated. 👍🏼👍🏼

I 100% agree with you there Jay maty, it's sickening and dampens your mood doesn't it when you know all they care about is money, but also the total lack of care and desire for there paying customers also makes you feel crap inside. Oh ye for sure, they know what to say to ya to baffle your brain, life is trial and error and live and learn, it's just all about refusing to have wool pulled over your eyes for next time and not falling for it. No problem by the way, I love your videos and always love commenting when I feel the want or need to, keep them coming because there great 😀 . What it needs is for the more people the better to watch your videos so they can be educated and then then to make that change and that stance and not falling for it and paying into the hands of bluddy greedy manufacturers. It is a tad cheeky not telling you of all the hidden costs and spec requirements. I've seen on other manufacuter websites where you can configure the bike you want with all the extras, they tell you that you need extra parts with certain options at least.

It is frustrating that the hangers are not the same, but you’ll see the pannier frame connects at the top (see the top of your hanger with the piece still left on). I’ve had both the vario on a GS and the frame on a GSA. On the GSA I used Enduristan Monsoon 3 soft panniers which tied under the pillion seat and onto the frame. My kit then went into sport bags inside. The Enduristan and frame were only on the bike for big tours.
The varios are more practical if you are using them frequently but they are heavy and the side opening is a real pain so you’ll need bags for them.

Good morning, it sounds like maybe your bike was not got the correct passenger foot pegs from the start. I can tell you. My 2023 BMW F750GS has the correct passenger pegs and is vario bag ready from BMW. Maybe just some sort of slight confusion between the people who setup your bike vs what you wanted.

On my NC750 X I’ve used the Oxford throw over panniers for camping purposes, they work a treat.
I’ve gone off top boxes, I use the Kriega bags which allow me to strap the tent etc on the top.
How about trying a camping trip and review what does and doesn’t work.

Hi Colin yeah I bought the wildheart panniers which throw over and yes work brilliantly only thing was the hassle for me anyway to strap them down. The boxes I bought just clip on in seconds so happy with them. Sounds like a good vlog regarding reviewing camping equipment maybe one for the future. Absolutely gutted we had to cancel our trip up there this week but the weather didn't look brilliant for camping and I couldn't leave the Mrs at home on crutches to fend for herself but we will be rearranging another trip up there in the near future. I hate that catchpenny tactic of selling you something that then needs an extra fitting kit or part it just seems like a rip-off. I had the same with the Triumph I really wanted one with cruise control and Triumph will sell you the new switchgear that plugs straight in to your existing wiring for about £400 but then you have to take it into a Triumph dealer and pay them to go into the ECU and "wake up" the function so needless to say I'll live without Cruise Control. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes the retail industry need to give something back and Be transparent. I would pay a bit more if I felt I was getting a deal not a steal. Looks like all retailers are ripping people off like dangling a carrot then offering a string bean 😂😂
These companies are always looking to make a few more quid or of their customers. You buy one bit, but then you need another bit before you can fit that bit. 🙄
Varios are good boxes though, and so glad you got em elsewhere👍👌

Brilliant filming and audio. On a bit of a different note, how do you get such great audio? I have an Osmo Action 1 and can't get the audio cracked? Sorry to go off-topic. Cheers, Mark :)
Thanks mark on the osmo one you need a reducer connector. Basically an attachment between the camera and the mic. It has a wheel so you can turn the volume down. This particular video I use the audio from the packtalk edge as you can record onto your phone from there. I have also used an independent audio recorder in the past too. Your mic needs to be a low sensitive mic too I think they are one directional not omni directional. Hope this helps 👍🏼👍🏼

I also have a packtalk but a bold so the new recording feature is not in the app. Although my iPhone connects to my Bold so I'm going to give the memo recording app on my iPhone a try and see what that does. Hello I've got a 2009 Gs, my vario panniers have a third locator/lock between the 2 hangers you've got they also have another fitting. Exhaust side is a bit of a weird shape, but I'm happy with them. Would like some ally boxes though
Nice sounds like they are quite secure. I do like the aluminium boxes but not a fan of the racking system. It’s nice to just clip the vario panniers on. Thanks for comment much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
Always bloody hidden extras you have to buy these days, should just co.e as full package. Great little ride out with no traffic can't beat it aoart from weather lol, take care, stay safe 🏍 👌👍

It’s not a hidden extra. The Adventure model comes ready to accept the Aluminium panniers as standard and most Std GS’s come ready to accept the Varios. There are exceptions. Until I customised the order my 2023 standard GS Trophy it came with the Aluminium luggage mounts but I modified the order to accept varios from new and it came with the correct mounts. You can hardly blame BMW for someone else’s previous choice?
Fair point but it was based on my experience that they didn’t mention it to me when I told them it was the gsa with the pannier racks. I’m sure they would have come across it before. Thanks for comment buddy much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
