When sitting on the seat and riding down the road, does the XT block the view of the gauges? Now that you have used the GPS for a few months, how do you like it?
Good question . Yes and no . It doesn’t block the dash but it does block the idiot lights like the turn signals. I do have to look over it from time to time to make sure my blinker is off. It is definitely a worthwhile product and does what it sets out to do. Works with gloves which is great. It’s only short coming is entering addresses that is hit or miss sometimes. The phone usually has an easier time finding a location I want . The work around is find the location and adress from the phone and enter it into the xt. I hope that helps .
Why wouldn't you just use your cell phone for GPS? Unless you plan on leaving the Garmin on full time (it didn't seem like you were) then it's just one more thing to have to take off and carry. Great video though!
To be honest the phone is great when you have service. I got the garmen for when I’m in a very remote area. It has alot of features i don’t use but nice to have. When i don’t think i need it it stays in the house so not to much of a hassle. The best thing is it works with gloves on. Sometimes those touch gloves just don’t hit the phone buttons right and it messes things up not what you want in a highway.
Nice, thanks for posting. I run my I phone with the map app. Works good, I’m sure it’s nowhere as cool/good as the Garmin, but I’m not going a long way using maps to guide me. 😉 have a 👍🏻 too! Well I’m glad you liked the video. I use my phone most of the time as well. I plan on taking trips to some cell service starved areas . That was and is the reason for the purchase . I really appreciate the enthusiastic approval 👍👍👍👍
@@SIRyker your welcome. Your screen name indicates you owned a Ryker, did you switch to the F-3-T? I own an F-3S and love it! I used my phone for navigation when I worked for a delivery company. Worked great but sometimes they didn’t have very good signals in some more remote areas. So I know what you mean. 😉
Funny enough I have a Ryker and an F3T. I started my channel prior to getting the Spyder. I love both but for completely different reasons. I think I’ll be making a video on that in the future.
Excellent video! Thank you for saving me a lot of headaches.
They say a smart man learns from his mistakes . A wise man learns from others mistakes.
Nice job. Beautiful bike!
Thank you very much

Interesting approach
It is best to put a towel over seat and tank when doing work like this - protection!
