I remember going to the top the first couple of times and it wasn't too hard then the last time I was showing it to a new Seabee Buddy and I got in a real tight spot where there was no going back and it was scary. Slidding down on the shale side was fun and quick. Sliding on your feet.
I've been trying to figure out why the wide footage from my wife's cell phone was so terrible and finally realized that I downloaded the low res preview files from Google Photos instead of the full 1080 file . Sonofabitch! FML! sorry for those awful looking shots, it won't happen again (i hope)
Did you encounter a lot of bugs on that trail? when we went the waterfall was dry due to the drought, but there's a cave under the waterfall that you could crawl into! ua-cam.com/video/ZIx6VtRR9yo/v-deo.html we didn't do it cuz we found out about it after we went. anyway, crazy that you climbed up there. did you have someone with you to film you from the bottom or did you set up the camera down there?

Which one did you like better, Rose Valley falls or Matilija Falls?
They are very different. Rose Valley is massive and easier to get to. Matilija is more of an adventure with nearly 10 falls total in the canyon.

No bugs. My wife filmed me with her cell phone which is why that wide footage doesn't look so great.

If you visit the north east there are better waterfalls
Dangerous climb. Worked there for 2 years and had numerous deathe from people trying to reach second set of falls. Don't do this climb.
