I just love your channel. Thank you for sharing my hometown of Ventura with the world. Very well done. I can't wait to see more of your exploring. Maybe I'll even run into you guys.
One of the positives about there not being as much water was you were able to get closer to the rocks and see all the beautiful moss. I love that the whole family did it together😊
My parents always had me outside hiking away from the crowds spending time with nature and to this day I’m still still doing it and loving it. Hopefully the twins will develop that same love of nature and solitude that the two of you enjoy. Logistically right now it is a little difficult but as they grow up just watch them blossom out on the trail as I did so many decades ago Keep up the good work 😊👍
I wish we had watched this video before we drove up to Rose Valley Falls and got completely lost, and ended up on the wrong trail. This is a great video to show you where the start of the trailhead is! Keep up the good work Josh and Amy xxx
Nice hike to do with the little ones. They will probably see more of Cali in their first few years than I can ever hope to see in my lifetime!! The waterfalls looked great, even if there wasn't a great deal of water!
Great to see you getting your kids outdoors at such a young age. It is a great addiction to have. It is sad to see all the fire damage. I grew up in Ojai and when we were kids in Boy Scouts we climbed up the left to the top of this waterfall and then down on the right (cliff). It was really scary and REALLY stupid. No one got hurt. I really miss living in Ojai.
There's a cool running creek along the left side as you're heading towards the fall too. Great area to set up for a quick snack or meal. But if I recall, it's kinda steep. Probably would not be safe to take down especially with the babies. Been watching your channel and articles over the years and awesome to see the family expand!
Hikes back there a few years ago, fun easy hike. Didn’t know you two were expecting, congrats on the babies! Adventuring with kids is more complicated but so rewarding! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations to you all! Great little, not so little, family! So glad you're continuing your great videos now as a family. Terrific! My daughter and I will be back in NorCal at the end of June for a month. Going to Avenue of the Giants and Mt. Shasta and other cool CA spots we've missed dearly since we left after the Camp Fire! You guys can come to Kauai and do a great series of hikes here!
These videos ….. are so great! Thank you for the tips. Can’t wait to get the kids out there and explore what’s in Ventura county’s back yard. New favorite channel 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 If the hiking backpacks get to be a little much, I highly recommend a happy baby carrier! They are very light weight, breathable, and easy to use 🥰 Good for newborn-toddler size and we wear ours all the time while out n about.
Love, love, love this hike. Ist time would have been in 1975 with son on first BSA hike. 3 t0 4 times a year 'till '88 when I moved away. Great hike w'babies.
Omg.. It’s a family outing😍.. Your babies are so adorable🤍. My husband and I love your videos. I have to admit we have taken mini road trips since coming across your channel. We love your content..
Gorgeous falls! And the sad part? I live so close and have never been there (I’m pathetic 🤣). So great to see the twins - beautiful babies (my niece has twins)!!
haha, funny story, my friend got one of those Osprey packs like yours, went hiking awhile back, he totally forgot he was wearing a baby carrier thought it was an ordinary hiking backpack when he took it off, he was doing the full swing it around and fling it to the floor sort of deal, luckily my goddaughter wasn't hurt, his wife was not impressed.
Cool you are continuing to get out ans make videos even with a busy family life. One day the kids will look back on how young you both look and all the places they've been, and they will become adventurers themselves!
Thanks for that, I really enjoyed it. Could you do a few more videos from Northern parts of CA please? Things to visit and explore for someone who recently arrived in the US.
Hey great to see Amy and the twins. Great first hike for them. Not too long. Love those backpacks. Gives them shade and views. Used to be a more shaded path before the Thomas fire about 3 yrs ago. Still a pretty hike in my back yard. Glad you guys decided to come visit Ventura. It’s a great little town. Honestly the drive from Ventura to rose valley falls is very scenic snd lots of beautiful places to explore along the way
I imagine it would have been beautiful with all the shade trees before the fire. I love Ventura and I loved the drive to the trailhead, it was really pretty.
I remember having dual baby backpacks, and yes, one was adjusted to me and one was adjusted to my husband. Fortunately, they were different colors so we never got them mixed up 😂. So glad to see you are taking them hiking. We've been hiking with all 3 of our boys (including the twins) since they were babies and they have such a great appreciation for nature and the outdoors now that they are teens/adult age. I promise, with practice, you'll both be pros at taking them hiking in no time.
Great to hear that your boys love hiking, I hope my children develop a love for the outdoors as well. I can't believe how hard a 1 mile trail was haha but I know it will get better 😂
Well done! Love that little hike and have taken my kiddos many times. There are 2 small lakes in that area that you can have a nice picnic at and do some fishing. Also really good for bird and duck watching.
I remember when I was younger before that fire that destroyed it it looked like heaven up there those trees would form a tunnel as you walked up that trail with white flowers blooming from the trees I went up there with my family recently and it just ain't as pretty sad 😢
Great little hike and congrats! Was wondering why Amy has been missing - that’s awesome! So happy for you guys! My wife and I have a 1 year old. She was a helmet baby too for a little while.
Yea, there will be a lot more videos with the full family in the future! We were unsure of using the helmet for her but it actually worked great and we just got it off this week. Thanks for the comment!
Aww i missed this! i went to ojai last monday! Will be coming back.. ojai is magical and I did follow your itinerary to ventura! Did had the burrito in mckenzie and its humongous!
Omg I have been following you for so many years Congratulations never heard you ever say you both were expecting. I also wondered where she has been as your father was in many videos. Congratulations Josh kids are adorable
Twins? Wow, you're going to be busy. Congrats!! I cracked up at 1:52 when your wife's passenger appeared to be bored, yawning into his/her fist. Just remember, when they grow up to be adults they won't anything that happened before they are 3, sometimes 4yrs old. So save your money, don't spend thousands on a Disney trip, unless they are older than 5yrs. Just some friendly advice for novice parents.
Yea we are going to be busy for sure. haha thanks for the advice that is a great tip for sure. Plus bringing them to Disney wouldn't be fun for us right now either hahaa 😂
They have been in a few more, like the UA-cam live we did and picking me up on both the biking videos but this is their first main video haha. Thanks for watching the videos!
Many years ago, my GF saw an article in the LA Times about trout fishing at Rose Valley Lake near there, so we packed up the two man kayak onto the truck and boogied out there. It was pretty much a mud puddle that was ankle deep. I never trusted the Times for anything after that.

I didnt know you have babies congrats bro
Thank you!
Cute kids!
I don't carry mine in a backpack anymore because my youngest is 34. :-)
Good to know they will eventually outgrow the backpacks and walk on their own 😂😂😂
I just love your channel. Thank you for sharing my hometown of Ventura with the world. Very well done. I can't wait to see more of your exploring. Maybe I'll even run into you guys.
No problem, I love Ventura and I want others to experience it as well!
One of the positives about there not being as much water was you were able to get closer to the rocks and see all the beautiful moss. I love that the whole family did it together😊
That is true, it was nice to get up close to the falls and to bring the whole family
Awww that’s great the whole family on the video. So happy for you all.
You already know who were the stars of this video!!!!! Awwww their first hike!! 👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
haha I am for sure the least like member of my family 😂

Producers stepping up their game with the new cast members.
Any water in the area is encouraging. Thanks.
I agree, already reading about how low the water is in California again

haha Oh man, I will have to remember not to do that haha
Everybody gets surprised about the kids. Congrats!!!
haha yea, they have been in a few other videos but not in a major capacity like this haha
Beautiful area. Your babies are so cute, congratulations! Thanks for sharing. Happy Memorial Day!
Thank you! You too!
Thanks for the awesome video of this hike! I’m in the Ojai area now, so I’m planning to go here tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy it!
Awesooome! That's a really short hike and looks beautiful with the moss. I'd do this one.
It really is!
Congrats on the twins!,, I have two sets and life moves fast!!! Love your channel!!!!

@@californiathroughmylens nope. I've seen city park lakes with more water.
IDK if you just did creative editing, but the last few times I've gone to the falls it's been a conga line of people.
When the kids are a bit older, go back there. A grotto is at the base of the falls. It appears as a crack in the rocks but once inside... You'll see.
Hey what are those babies carrier’s called? And where can I buy one??
Dont know much about hiking, but is this safe for newborns?

👍🏻😍
Is that short hike worth the drive?
If you are in the Ojai / Ventura area then it is great but I wouldn't do a long drive for it unless you have other things to do in the area
And...learn to identify poison oak stems without their leaves. Very handy in the Los Padres NF.

Ah the whole team went.
Signs of Sasquatch right there

Who's babies are those? Just kidding I'm not dense.
haha I was wondering the same thing? 😂
I would never take my infant babies to bear and mountain lion territory but that's just me.
Get as many videos with your babies before they start asking for "Appearance" fees.......ha ha.
