4 flash error code reset diy how to reset

if your whirlpool (or any other water heater) has a control valve that looks like this control then you maybe able to use this tutorial to reset the box. you will need a torques head(star bits) or small flat head screw driver. a used battery.(preferably a 9 volt ) you only need about .5 volt. it would be easiest with test leads, (or some kind of wires). and a small amount of " mechanical" know how.

First thank you a million times over for this DYI video. I had 2 plumbers come out and take a look at this and they both wanted to charge me $300-500 to fix the water heater. They said the gas valve needed to be replaced. Called the company ,the water heater was still under warranty. New valve wont arrive for 5 days. Crazy no hot water for five days. Saw this video and damn ! I now have hot water again. Thanks for saving me ...

Didn't get your name on your video, but just wanted you to know what an awesome job you did on explaining how to clear this Honeywell control valve. Thanks! After several trial and errors I got it to work. Unplugged everything from front cover, pulled it off, Zapped the leads then waited about an hour to reassemble. Got the 7 lights after a few tries then went to on and she fired up! Thanks again.

It did it again...took this opportunity to flush it out and there was a LOT of sediment in there...flushed it until it was clear and chunk free...kept turning drain knob open closed to help it flow...it clogged a lot trying to drain.
Went through same procedure as before and got her going. Hopefully it will last more than a week.

my issue is I can't get the burner to light anymore. the reset switch is never popped out and my vent are all clean. where's that forum where you got this video idea from?? thanks

Great video. I have couple of valves I replaced just because of that 4 flash.
I still have them you think it I could reset them even though they're off.
