The atmosphere and soundtrack reminds me when i first played Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana, and damn, i loved it (even though Ys VIII isn't my first Ys game)

Same, Ys VIII its my fav Ys. IX let me down and X its making me feel that it could be my new favorite.

Where IX might be lacking in designs and atmosphere, it excels in the writing and characters (also, i just liked the freedom of movement and monstrums and their powers)
I am so hyped but they usually release this at a full $60....or maybe $70 in these times. But its worth it!
@duke151515 I agree, Ys VIII is amazing. I just played it through again for the 3rd time. I skipped IX. Seemed to dark.. but X looks alot like VIII and I can't wait for it to come to Switch. The real let down was that I have been waiting since the Switch release for Ys 1. We finally got it, but it's the worst possible version. Total bummer.

It does look better but I wonder why they haven't to moved to UE, it can't be that expensive and there's plenty of documentation. Even UE4 would be a huge step up, with the chance to move to 5 anytime they want.
They moved from Vita graphics to switch graphics
I know falcom dont have lots of budget but the game is on PS5. Just make those effects outta this world incredible.

It looks like YS VIII Lacrimosa of Dana. The set and maps,but i really enjoyed YS LoD than Monstrum Nox.Hopefully YS Nordics has different element and brings more upgrade.
From what I understand, Nordics takes place on a collection of islands and you travel between them on a ship which serves as your base (you collect crew for it, much in the same way you would find castaways in Ys VIII). I am smelling multiple endings in this one.
I kinda miss the fight elements from YS 6 Ark of Napishtem.

Luckily you have a few months to do it, even I am replaying Ys 8 and 9 to 100% just to get ready for 10.

They are always releasing these right after a finish a pervious game in the series but not the latest in the series. So much to buy, so little money to go around.
Steam is having a sale on pretty much all of them except for YS IX if I recall correctly. Just picked up all of the ones they have for a decent discount.

I love falcom when they decide to update their visuals in games they never do anything by halves its either a MASSIVW jump or nothing 😂

Now THIS feels more like a proper Ys game than Monstrum Nox (Ys IX). That one is so badly unrecognizable it might have well been a different game entirely.
They tried so hard to make him like Rean in monstrum nox 😭
@@patrickisexotic Indeed. The world building is also vastly different than the usual. Feels kinda cheap with the overly empty spaces everywhere--like a game from past bygone.
I just started Ys 9 myself and i gotta agree, after the hype of exploring a big open world in Ys 8 i just don't feel like playing Ys 9 tbh.
I was a big Ys fan, but its kinda like the same since Ys Seven :(

I really liked L.O.D beautiful environments. This one i don't know environment looks uninspired to me kinda dull. The mountain ridges look awful, yea yea i know art direction blah blah.
yeah i dont understand to, new trails looks so much better, perhaps they dont have enough time to make good environment? even if it art direction YS 8 looks better

Preordered this (YS X) and started playing day one. Unfortunately it’s disappointing! YS 8 is still the BEST of whole series ( I played origin, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 n 10). Just bought YS8 PS5 physical disc for collection purpose even I already have its PS4 n Switch digital deluxe versions. PS: Finished X w 100% on hard mode, new game+ now, it IS far less impressive n fun than 8, and also downgraded from 9... The whole game on PS5 is only 5G!

A bit disappointed about the dual system. I was hoping we could be able to give the two characters different commands kinda like a puppet character in a fighting game

It's nice to know that there are people that prefer the english dub out there. Nobody gives dubs enough credit. Especially when they're good.

Looks no different to Ys VIII to me, which I absolutely hated and bored me to sleep. The lack of updated graphics is also disappointing.

That's interesting, because I've been playing Ys VIII recently, and I'm in the minority of people who think it's kind of boring compared to the rest of the series, but this game actually seems like it's had a pretty substantial rework in terms of combat and exploration. I like the smaller windows for dodging and parrying, and the added control over the second party member. It looks like they're including some hidden collectibles and platforming elements, too. Not sold on the ship combat yet, but it looks more fun than the raids in VIII, so I'll give it a try.
blud probably have an attention span of a 5yr old if fast-paced combat with responsive block and dodge system while having banger music bores you.
