Thanks so much man!!! Ive left a few planets only missing 1 animal & this helped alot. Starfield has sooo many different systems u can put ur time in & ive done the majority of them. I recently started back playing preparing for the dlc & got into surveying planets & ive been having fun. They just added the buggy so that helps somewhat but i had already found an easier way to get around
For water fauna where the water is harmful, I’ve found it helpful to build an outpost on the beach and build habs over the water. Most times you can build a wide enough reaching web to scan the water without getting in the water yourself. When you DO need to go in the Hans make it easier to jump to safety.
Also note that those organic resources can be sold to what’s-her-face at The Lodge for credits. Any resource with the parenthesis are valid, like Structural Material (bone) or Spice (carapace), for example.
I've got a few hundred hours of surveying and correction on the amounts you receive from surveys... You can actually receive up to just over $12k for some habitable planets. ie: Jemison, Gagarin... When you sell it to Vladimir. I'm currently going for 100% survey completion in the game right now. I also like that photos you take become your load screen images since we're all subject to load screens that many people complain about; at least they become more amusing when it's the images you personally created. 👍😉 You're welcome
Ive got a mod coming out soon that overhauls the science tree. With the primary objective being to enable you to level up just by exploring. (Without the need to massacre every animal you see) its still in the testing phases but I may upload an early version later today. "PsiSoldier's Science Rebirth" Mod Exploration related skills in the science tree will add either a fixed or a random amount of experience when you discover new locations for the first 2 ranks and the 3rd and 4th ranks give a %bonus thanks to the skills giving random amounts of exp it kind of makes it feel more like real Exploration in the fact that you dont know what you will get or find. Being able to level up just from Exploration has thus far been pretty fun in testing up to my level 30's. Ive put so many hours into Starfield before this and when I started playing with the goal of running around to discover new locations I started finding many things I never saw in the game before.
I don't understand why people think doing another playthrough changes anything. A single character can eventually collect all the same stuff/abilities, why start over.
It's different, for sure. I like it a lot when I want a break from the questing and dialogue, and just want to explore and get some resources and xp. Reminds me a lot of hunting in Red Dead 2.
For the coastal, it sometimes bugs. I Landed on the coast as close to water I could. walked/ran for 3500 m to get the water in view and the msg "You can't walk that way. Return to ship?" I've also found coastal without any animals in the water for like 3000 m stretch forcing me to relocate.
The tip about finding the coastal zones is really helpful. I was getting pretty frustrated early on before realizing there were aquatic animals!
Me too!!! I was doing so good surveying but I've left multiple planets missing 1 fauna
Thank you VERY much for this guide. It cleared up a lot of confusion.
That's great to hear, glad you found it useful

Great idea! Thanks for sharing.

I find it is super relaxing to explore and survey planets (well until I get stalked and mauled by a group of over aggressive alien animals)

thank you, explained really well, it helped alot :)
It would be great to see some more videos.
You really do get a lot of XP while doing this and it's fun unlike grinding an XP farm
Been a long time since Ben was in his mid 20's
great tips thanks👍
Nice vid 😀
I have a sheet of info I don't want to forget on this game...
Hi Ben, are you going to play any games on here?
I don't understand why people think doing another playthrough changes anything. A single character can eventually collect all the same stuff/abilities, why start over.
Scanning is boring

Ouch!
I’ve landed on 1 planets coast 8 times for about 20 min of exploration to not get the aquatic animal..
How do you scan all the moons from orbit of the planet?
Probably a bit late with the answer, but with the Astrophysics skill
Really not feeling this PUBG update. At all.
Retourne to pubg 😂
