It's worth mentioning that selling the exploration data to Vladimir Sall on The Eye (the Constellation space station orbiting Jemison) nets you double the credits compared to anywhere else. Since the data doesn't have any weight it's worth hanging onto it until you can sell to him. I clear him out of credits every couple of days.
I love how so many of the skills work as the singular focus of an RP build as well as the secondary focus. A pure scientist might use loads of surveying and exploration skills, but all characters can dabble in a little of the exploration skills for any number of RP reasons. I love this game.
I had a fun level 70 world. There were lion bears, massive herding crab creatures and other individuals that were hard to describe. But the apex predator byfar was a cricket about the size of a medium breed of dog. Absolutely vicious.
The enthusiasm from this channel is so refreshing compared to all of the negativity on Reddit and from many gaming journalists. While Starfield hasn't topped Skyrim for me yet, I have greatly enjoyed it so far. I know you two are not afraid to criticize Bethesda, so I know your thoughts are genuine. The fact you are enjoying the game so much makes me feel a little less crazy for enjoying it when seemingly everyone else just wants to complain.
I feel like from an RP point of view, it makes sense to focus on the main story and then once finished focusing on exploring the different worlds and biomes and building up my ship and some outposts on some really nice planet
Fudgemuppet recommends not rushing it. It's hard not to get wrapped up in something else though. U will probably want to answer distress calls and start faction quest lines.
I’d say from a RP point of view, you can explore under the premise of scanning planets for artifacts. You can survey a planet and act as if you’re searching for gravitational anomalies. Bring a Constellation companion along to really get into it.
@@agentnukaz1715 this, not spoiling the story so far but there are multiple senses of urgency in areas of the games storylines so it gets really difficult trying to justify say planet scanning or harvesting things when someone's being attacked by Spacers or there's a big story device which wouldn't make sense not to do straight away

Thank you for confirming the ocean animals exist. I was going insane trying to find the last animal on multiple planets and realized they all had oceans. I figured it was something like this. Now I will have to go back!
Thank you so much, I have been doing a lot of exploration in my playthrough, and this guide has been super helpful. I didn't even know how some of these features exactly worked until you pointed it out in this guide, so again thank you.
This game seems like it was basically designed around the explorer archetype ( altho since this is a Beth game Scott will show us another 50+ builds that are absolutely viable )
Nice tips, thank you! I've been looking at splitting focus between Science and Tech, so I can incorporate this into my build quite smoothly. Ship design is my most-anticipated feature, so the extra resources, especially, will be important to me.

One tip to get fauna completion is if you see any caves with fauna in them that you still need to scan, enter/leave the cave over and over until you get 100%. It actually works!

After watching several of your videos I had an epiphany imagine if they did borderlands DLC in the way of Starfield. In regards to the melee combat character you could have the pit fighter from the skyrim mod that is placed in the Starfield universe where your character would come and play to be The Champion of the universe. Or possibly they'll be implementing ground vehicles for planet excavation or scanning imagine turning that into a so-called rat race if you've seen the movie. It could be very well the modern community that creates these as well just some ideas to shoot towards you guys.

Hey kids, wanna hear a neat little trick? When you first jump into a system, check all the planets right away on the map. If any are gas giants, fly to them, do an orbital scan, and bingo you just got yourself a nice 500+ credits for basically no effort. This works no matter what skills you have, and no matter what kind of build you're making, you're gonna find yourself in systems you haven't visited before. The game basically gives you free money and all you gotta do is help yourself to it. The explorer playstyle didn't really call out to me right away, but I'm more than happy to plop down on small barren planets and moons for a few minutes of scanning and then pocketing the credit payouts. The game lets me build spaceships so I MUST build them, and they don't come cheap.
It’d be really cool if the beast hunter skill let you tame/mount different beasts on planets. Helping with the exploration of the planet. Exploration seems really fun but all the running is kind of keeping me away.
