I’m feeling older today, Ken’s voice was the first one I heard from the first race I watched on CBS. His description of what was happening and what happened at and on the track was eloquent and respectful to audience and competitors. No one today can compete, only learn from him. Rest in peace my fellow NewEnglander. 🙏🙏

Ken seemed like a really nice fellow, and definitely a true race fan to the bone. I spoke to him in the parking lot at after a race, just the two if us and he was very interested in chatting and asked where I was from ( in Canada) , and what kind if local racing we had. He knew off hand the minor racing series we had in the area. He was a race fan, not just at the Cup level, grass roots short track racing on up.

RIP Ken Squire ,I remember the 79 Daytona 500. I was fresh out of the Navy , 59 cars ran the duals trying to get to the 500. The old man was a die hard Petty fan so he was happy. The rest of us stared at the 25 inch color tv as the fight took place and Ken Squire narrated the blow by blow action.

I always would have liked to hear from Ken why NASCAR left the Northeast the 1st time. Him and Tom Curley were essential in giving them drivers a series to race in with the birth of the ACT
