More compensation for survival friendly east asian builds: - For roofs, you can use deepslate tiles, stone bricks, blackstone bricks or nether bricks, or if you are okay with wooden roofs, you can use spruce planks, warped planks, or the new mangrove. Japanese walls are often made of paper, but on castles and palaces, it is usually some other white material. - For paper walls, you could use bone blocks or smooth quartz, or if you want something even easier to get, you could use stripped birch wood. - For other white walls, you can use snow blocks or calcite. More general tips for east asian builds - I reccomend dark oak doors or birch doors, depending on if the building is more imperial, or more for a village/town. - Birch trapdoors work very well for more detail on paper walls. - More village-like builds often have a terrace around the house, where the edge of the terrace features the outer pillars. - More castle-like builds often have a large stone foundation, usually being larger at the base than at the top of the foundation. - Look at real life and minecraft references from different creators, and see what works for you!
My plan for my survival world was to use oxidized copper instead of prismarine. I’m also using a jungle biome and kind-of going for the jungle-temple look that already exists in game too!
I made my first japanese build with a copper roof so it can get a blue green color later, and i just wanted to use copper for a while now. For the walls i used birch because i didnt have any other white blocks.
perfect timing with this video! i’m building a medieval town in my survival world but after i’m done with it i’m gonna connect a meadow biome with my village and make a mountain Japanese village
@@unknown-oy4ud lol that’s crazy, thing is that was a year ago for me i lost that world and had to start over 😭 my current world is going great tho i’m working on a 10k long path to connect my starter villager to the closest desert so i can start doing some desert builds! i’ve made a rule not to use elytra’s!!
for a starter dark prismarine i recomend warped wood not the most early game but if you are experianced its pretty easy to get to the nether but the problem is if there isnt a warped forest nearby. great tutorial
Oh I definitely have the patience and perseverance to do this in survival 😂 I already have the blocks in survival to do the trees. I've desperately searched for a Japanese cherry blossom tutorial that I like. Going to try this one. Hopefully it goes well 😂 Thank you for the tips 😊

thats very good tips im not the best japanese style builder but after this video i became very good at it im very close to building a base in my world and i thought a japanese village would be the best option since its surrounded by mountins

warped wood is definitely a more survival-friendly choice, even though i like the dark prismarine texture more....looking back at this video i'm not sure why i didn't mention it lol
Incredible video! Definitely trying out some of those ideas. Also, a cool design for a pink water flower: Waterlogged warped trapdoor, glow item frame w/ honeycomb on top of it, and a pink coral fan. I think it's called "brain coral" but not sure.
fair enough, as i was making this video i realized that i was going for more of a 'generic east asian fantasy' look, rather than traditional or historical japanese. ty for pointing it out tho! :)
true! the color is def way more similar, i ended up picking andesite as my substitute because i liked how it was more akin to a tile roof (like dark pris), but warped wood is also a very solid choice!
My insperation Energy was almost exosted with Medieval Built - then to last week I was one Week in Iceland and now Im building on a little Ice and Snow Island a Viking Outpost.
With the Japanese house i made you were right I needed over 600 dark prismarine so i had to explore like 4 ocean monuments i did this in survival as well
i know this is a but late but, do you think you could make a more in depth tutorial of the designs of buildings and the roofs and maybe how to make smaller versions for common houses?
I've been planning to make a japanese style home once minecraft releases the cherry trees. I planned to use cherry wood and mangrove wood but im not sure what material to use in place of dark prismarine. What should I use?
good question! if you'd like to keep a similar color, i recommend warped wood, or oxidized copper if you've got enough of it. if either of those materials are too difficult to get large quantities of, you could use polished andesite, which retains the 'stone tile' look even though it's a different color.
that's a good idea! this video deserves a sequel, '7 MORE Quick Tips for the BEST Minecraft Japanese Builds' now that 1.20 is out - the cherry trees are a game changer :)
@@LeonSBU oh I mean japanese builds, I get frustrated seeing them everywhere but a few people can build them well. Tbh, I feel like red accent is far more common in Chinese architecture than Japanese and I don’t think they really use it that frequently

@@LeonSBU indeed
Imo japanese builds look best in a jungle biome
also i think that cherry trees look better with dark oak wood rather than acacia
Yes, dark oak or spruce works well, but in real life, cherry trees are ofter more grey
5:55 i feel like the tree could have been more balanced at the bottom, like adding maybe some support on the side that it was leaning towards
For replacing dark prismarine you can use warped wood since it looks rlly similar
