- In today's video I talk about why I personally choose to use a camcorder instead of the modern day mirrorless cameras such as the ZV-E10, Or The Sony A7IV. Are camcorders still usable in 2024? Or are they slowly dying out, and fading into the history books? Let me know what you prefer, and why.

I have the ax43 and it's perfect. Also a cx405, pocket camcorder. I agree 100% with you. Today everyone wants megapixels, sharpness, autofocus, in the end they make one video per year... and a bad one

I've had one! Those are fantastic little cameras.
I have 4 cam corders. The AX43, the CX405, the G60 (canon) and a small 12 years old sony pj10 (with a freakin projector ) I love them all. Not only the ergonomics but also the fact that they do not overheat, they have a lot of batery time, this things could film through the end of the world 😀
The way things are looking in this world right now that might be sooner than you think😳

camcorders are awesome. I shot 4 fiction features with them over the last 10 years or so. just got a new one - the canon g70 - and made 4 videos w/ them over the last 4 days. fun to shoot, easy, reliable, great images.

This was a good video.. I know absolutely nothing about electronics... I record on my $180 Motorola phone, I edit on my phone, I post from my phone.. it does get blurry a lot and the audio sucks and the battery don't last long but it has gotten me through so far. Last year my son drop me a really nice GoPro with every attachment you can think of but it is so difficult to operate on and off continuously for hrs, I have lost footage trying to transfer it to my phone for editing and uploading (I don't have internet or computer at my house) and the battery goes dead way faster than my phone.. I still want to use it but it needs to be used for special things like when I'm in water boating or something and not going to be turning it off and on constantly.. do you ever sell your old cameras? How rugged are they?

Do you need to zoom in much? I think the 1 inch sensor should be way better for filming in lower light. The AX 53 should zoom in much further.
I would like to upgrade as well.
I do use zoom quite often for certain shots, and you are exactly right about the sensor size. That's the only drawback on this camera is it's lowlight capability. However I work around it without issue. I will be upgrading to a larger sensor camera for better lowlight, and sharper images though and using this as a B camera because this is a very capable camera, and I'll never stop using it lol
@@JohnnyHaysOutdoors I've got two Sony camcorders and a Canon. I use them all. I'm amazed at what the new Samsung phones do as well.

I’m a camcorder guy too .. I do have a mirrorless camera as well but my A Cam is my camcorder 🦾😎
