I played this with some friends a couple of months back; i hope it has improved since then. But even at that time, it did show a good bit of promise with it's premise.
One of my best experiences: One of the random's started roleplaying over the mic. "If i see you runningm i'll shoot you myself" and "left flank incoming! kill some freakin bugs. Do you wanna live forever??!". It literally made me feel like I was in the movie.

Helldivers 2 took away the playerbase, I don't see how, Helldivers is only 4 player coop, I want 16+.

I just got helldivers 2. It is amazing. I love both games. Extermination just doesn't have a whole lot of depth/content yet. Hopefully it'll get there. I have a beast pc (gpu aside) nvidia 3070, 32 gigs of ram, and i9 13th gen. This game is very poorly optimized. My pc chugs during horde mode with lots of characters on screen in ultra settings. It looks great though!
IMO STE is the better idea and concept for a game, but they released to EA way too early whereas HD2 released in a ready state (other than some minor bugs and server issues). My hope is that STE troopers will be revived upon full release.

Game is so much fun. Up until this point I thought gaming was dead. Yes it has it's problems, but it's challenging and when it works, it works. Something about one game dying and seeing all your comrades around you getting overrun by bugs, then the next game everyone makes it the extraction ship with some running back to help stranded soldiers.
The weapons are great they just need to add more upgrades to even them out, fix the minor bugs and add more maps! Played a map tonight that had a giant sandstorm going where you couldn't see the bugs coming at you! Love it!
And would you believe it, the game got updated as in this week 😂🤣

I think I'll play this tomorrow I haven't touched it since a few months after the defense mission was introduced but I still have fond memories of the 1km+ extracts from launch
I love this game! waiting for the new classes and updates coming soon. This is the best Starship Troopers game I've ever played. and I'm old enough to of played them all since the movie came out. The variety of bugs, very different game types, the need for good teamwork, its great.
I'm so glad Kevduit is playing this it's been my favorite game as of late

There's a new update coming that will add 3 more classes and more missions. Single player planned and galactic conquest as well. Game is good, it just released too early and got overshadowed by helldivers 2.

I had a guy at work come up to me and ask if I was playing Helldivers 2 while I was wearing my Mobile Infantry jacket... I was a bit cross.
Starship troopers, the Early Access game, was great. I bought it. I joined an extremely well fleshed out clan. We had our squads DEDICATED to their objectives with controlled communications. It was esentially a military op. We had American Army and Marine Corps, with British Army, and Royal Marines. (mostly retired) but honestly; it just got boring. The devs did an amazing job, and it isnt their fault other devs worked faster. Helldivers II is great.
Since this is early access I hope they add some cool game modes like capturing the brain bug, being in a suit like Titanfall in a survival mode. And add some more physics like dismemberment (just an option) and more intense camera shock during explosions . But I'd trust the developers they doing their best to add more content and game modes so players will never be bored after 72 hrs of playing

I know it went through some rough patches with bad updates but the core is solid I think it can have a comeback?

The fireball effect in this game is glorious
the game looks really unique, it has this semi animated style and im all here for it. Its still in my wishlist but hopefully it will be in my library soon.
Not bad see and played so many of similar this one shows what we wanted to play in the starship troopers universe but design animations executions of animations keep it up either then that more lethal close quarters like in the movir

People saying helldivers does starship troopers better. This game has been out and improving. Helldivers is great I love it but this game has the bugs we know and hate and all the starship trooper theme you could ask for.

The game is fun, enjoyed my grind to 50, I just never picked it up after hd2 released and them resetting my level again for the nth time, the game has potential but its too bare for how it currently is, its also quite repetitive for how limited the maps are, it also doesn't help that the guns are limited and quite underwhelming.

@@spartanx9293while your not wrong there were many inspiration for helldivers as a whole, ODST from halo, warhammer due to the super destroyers looking kinda samey as a dreadnaught and starship troopers with its propaganda news and comedy joke on democracy, there is a bunch to compare to helldivers but the arrowhead devs just made it their own game with all those little bits of inspiration, keep in mind these are also the same devs that made the beloved wizard game magicka an that by far was fun, friendly fire as a whole for arrowhead is part of the genes of their games expect for gauntletTM

@@spartanx9293they are overhauling or better get giving more options to play the game with different classes, kinda like squad but so far they sre adamant and serious about supporting this game, the player base size just really hurts the game due to many reviews saying its a boring slog killing bugs only, most reviews that says these dont even make it pass 4 hour mark

Man, something seems off with that flashlight. I thought at first that the world is low-poly, but somehow I think it's actually the light decal cast from the flashlight causing it to look worse.
Either that or YT is going HARD at the compression.
