The optics and reflex sights in this game are hilarious. Especially the scope on the Gustloff Volkssturmgewehr is hilarious or the reflex sights on the MP40. Scopes did exist in WW2, but they were very expensive and the lenses weren't as good as they are now. Reflex dot sights did not exist. Experimental IR night vision did exist, but that was exclusive to the StG/MP45.
The IR scope for the M1 Carbine did exist and deployed, dubbed the M3. But it was HUGE and you have to carry the battery on your body, so there is a wire going between the rifle and the shooter. Plus, it needs just not a scope, but an IR spotlight to operate. Meanwhile, red dots did not exist for guns until after the war, and first sold commercially for shotguns (the military was iffy about it until it was first trialed in Vietnam. Even then, it wasn't in use even by special forces until the 80s and 90s, the iconic era of the Aimpoint 3000 and 5000). They were based on aircraft reflex sights, so if you were a serviceman in WW2, you would need to be an aircrew or pilot to use reflex sights--for your plane.
Check out Infinite Warfare. Its absolutely a crime it had the Call of Duty license put upon it. The best campaign that has branching paths, and the best zombies since Black Ops 1.

Should've used that title for that crappy game from Steven Spielberg for PS1... It aged worse than Half-Life for some reason.
"Your tea... is ready" badass lol
What kind of tea DO German people tend to like? I feel like I should know since my grandma’s Czech-German-American, but I don’t.
"I am going to use the door.... I am going to close it" lmao (8:59)
One minute of silence for those who failed NNN and for Kevduit 😢 RIP never forget
I'm sorry...if a German shepherd bites me in the pills I will die instantly. My favorite sniper rifle is the MG-42, fantastic!
I think I died inside seeing a cat-eared sci-fi soldier cradle a mosin-nagant
Remember when one of the VA of this game said their was no iconic character in call of duty, i do
Not VA it's Writers😂
I felt more emotion and got more in the opening of Battlefield V than I ever with the entirety of this game
You mean battlefield 1 right
Except bf5 was awful. bf1 is the goat
bf5 is trash, bf1 is goated@@_ghostly_
@paleofolkBf5 is the worst battlefield game ever made
@@brobequietI guess we all collectively forgot about 2042?
I love how the thumbnail character is holding a bolt action with a drum mag
Maybe I should play the entire CoD series in reverse order, so the games just get gradually better each installment.
13:07: *Screams of pain and agony*
Kev: *They’re having a bad day*
RIP to Kev, He Didn't Deserve This
That lootbox at the end better have the tactical catgirl skin or none of the sacrifices were worth it.
I think the closest to reality cod has ever been was in world at war (which in my opinion is the best one) and the dev that added the raygun easter egg in little resistance was almost fired because it wasn't historically accurate
As Thanos said "Perhaps I treated you too harshly."
What are you talking about? Vanguard is awful, it’s WORSE than MW3 in everywhere.
@@iloveyoushimaexcept campaign and actually being a game (not dlc)
I love your content. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
I am curious though, would you be willing to play COD2/3? Tbh the level of nostalgia I have with them, as well as seeing someone like yourself playing and comparing them, would bring a tear to my eyes
5:50 Great to see zanny's "SLURp JUICE" meme in your video. 😂😂
Wait I didn’t even realize this was a new video, I thought I just missed a old video of him playing Vanguard
1:26 So they put seraph in vanguard. for context, seraph is one of the characters from the black ops 3 multiplayer, a game set in 2065, she has gone at least a century into the past
That one mission in black ops 3 must of been foreshadowing
@@polytanksan5761either that or she had an ancestor who used that same codename AND had access to a wearable earpiece somehow.
Tbh.
I decided to redownload vanguard about a week ago. The multiplayer is still pretty active (good luck trying to find matches in arms race LMAO) and to my knowledge. The playercount has increased alot more 2 weeks into mw3’s release. Must be the bad reception its recieving though
I’m all for it either way. And its sad that this game didnt get a 2 year life cycle. It legit stopped recieveing updates for just a month after the first year passed.
I wish new cods will use the combat pacing and patrol mode. Those were great additions. That and the operator levels and favourite weapon system. Just the small things
It's a good thing that Petrova Pre-Greased all those vents and cubbys and stuff.
Next is I forced my friends to beat every cod vanguard zombies map ( only one of the maps is good due to being a remake )
To do a video of borderlands three I think most people will enjoy, but the story is very bad but how it feels is amazing
The Stalingrad mission in this campaign is awesome. I liked Vanguard’s campaign personally, but it’s not one that I replay often like other ones.
At 38:16 thw grenade box you needed all along was marked and directly in front of you 😅
"civilian casualties will not be tolerated" yeah tell that to dresden
They supported Nazis what did they expect. Ich bin Nazi and you'll be treated like one.
Maybe if they hadn't wasted all their manpower on a unwinnable war the fires might have been controlled.
Or to the actual Soviet army at any point after they started pushing the Germans back out of the USSR…
anyone who brings up Dresden is 90% guaranteed to be a nazi or nazi apologist
It’s kinda like someone saw far cry 3 blood dragon and thought ‘we should copy that whacky style too!’
Well, world at war was historically accurate though. In the sense that no one is good. Everyone is bad. All of you are capable of doing despicable things.
The fact that I just know that at some point there is gonna be a COD centered around the Ukraine conflict or Gaza, with people running around with cat ears or as the horsemen of the Apocalypse, makes me sad
maybe video games were a mistake
@@DavidJCobbbigger leap, maybe capitalism as a whole was a mistake
I think they would know better. That would be in such poor taste.
@@blueflare3848this game is in poor taste to WW2
@@AmyCherryLMAOmake it narrow, letting Steven Spielberg made his own ww2 game was a mistake. Just leave gaming to kings like Gabe Newell and John Romero.
Imagine being in the trenches in ww2 and someone in your platoon yells “WADE VISION ACTIVATED” and he just slaughters everyone
Ngl the flying mission is probably the only fun level in the game's entirety
15:54 Fallout 4 NPC's be like in Sanctuary.
If they had just made some changes to the game and removed the ridiculous additions to the weapons in campaign this actually could of been pretty good
That could be applied to every game ever made. The most obvious statement ever.
Pretending Vanguards multiplayer is a diesel punk alternate history makes it go down a lot better then perceiving it as a WW2 shooter
Thanks to you I bought the game and just finished the campaign in 8.7 hours
What a fun ride! Genuinely enjoyed almost every bit of that!
HISTORICALLY ACCURATE WADE VISION
With games like Vanguard, I can't really remember the last time there was a truly good COD game.
Easy, Black Ops 2.
cold war was great (i am very biased as a zombies fan)
bo3 was amazing, iw was partially on par with it
I’ve heard that MW2 was good (the new one).
@@blueflare3848 eh its decent, couldve been far better if iw didnt have their heads up their asses about certain gameplay decisions that didnt need changing
I thought BO4 was good.
You know what, I'll say it right here. At least Vanguard HAS a story with cinematic bullshits.
To be honest, while Vanquard was bad at almost all desicions, bonk playable character to death with chair is pretty brutal move, I'll give them that.
1:27 The tech, the asian motif, the sidecut hairstyle, that is a cuberpunk character
If you mean cyberpunk, then I’d disagree. Not enough vinyl, latex, or built-in light strips.
the mg42 could be shoulder slung, and didn't need to be mounted, just like the modern m240b is often mounted, yet can be, and is used by infantry, so that soldier with it as her favorite weapon makes sense
Dude I started watching this channel from 76 , ever since I loved your videos dude.
The fact that Polina’s father is the Landlord from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films is the only redeemable quality about this dumpster fire of a game.
RENT!
16:16 when something is on your girl classmate's shirt but you can't talk about it because everyone whould think that you just said the worst pickup line of the century😂
If I were part of a crew tasked with sneaking behind the front lines, and none of us had German accents, I’d start quipping my ass off almost immediately
Why ? A bunch of commandos aren't spies.
*picks up PPSH* AUGH, a tommy. 😂
>I'm about to play as wonder woman aren't I
Bro I died laughing
2:50 The dog created a time paradox and therefore: game over
The optics and reflex sights in this game are hilarious.
True
As a non call of duty player I can safely say, you showing me this actually makes me want to play it for its story.
Nah vanguards story is horrible. If you want a good ww2 story that also looks better than this then try cod WW2 from 2016. The story is amazing but the multiplayer is kinda meh. Not as bad as vanguard’s multiplayer though.😂
The original CoD2 had a funny and enjoyable WW2 story, if you can live with the outdated graphics.
@@I_live_in_your_walls.What? CoD WWII is completely mediocre. World At War or CoDs 1-3 do a far better job at portraying WWII.
@@I_live_in_your_walls.amazing is a stretch, it’s super average imo
@@mr.s9783 True, but they look like they’re played on a literal potato.
dont forget at the end of the vanguard multiplayer they brought in villains from other cods as playable characters and a fricking lazer gun
And the f2000
i don't know man. Compared to what i saw of the new CoD, this one looks really good. Interesting missions, fun mechanics. Just ignore the "Realism" PR talk for this one and you can have a really fun time.
It isn’t. Get a grip.
