  • Darko Jorgic just won the European Top 16 for the third year in a row. It’s no secret that his backhand is one of, if not the deadliest in the world. However, that’s not all that comes into play when you try to explain his success. In this video, we’ll take a look at how his serve facilitates him into getting a bunch of easy points in a match.

    Can you do a follow up video on how the CNT players neutralize Darkos service?

      Try Fan Zhendong vs Stefan Fegerl in the 2015 Polish Open Final ... Both right-handed and both served many reverse pendulum serves to the opponent's forehand side

      They neutralize by having superior footwork than most other players and also being strong in both BH and FH.

    Wow, just watched the first video of yours. This content is really a game changer. Not the standard stuff of forehand and backhand topspin but some real advice that can be incorporated into your own game immediately. So much appreciated. With love from Germany

    Great video as always, ive noticed even on my level often if i get enough top and sidespin on my serve even if people can predict it pften the return is low quality so i can do the same serve again and again for third ball attacks

    "turning against their hand"
    I feel a more suitable term would be forehand and backhand natural angles, and unnatural angles, mentioned by seth pech in his video about service recieve.
    Great video though, I think I will implement some of this into my game

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому

      Yeah, what works for you I guess. I had a hard time finding a good term for the concept and just directly translated it from how we say it in Dutch.

    Great video, but I have one question but nobody can answer this question. If jorgic make backhand serve on forehand and opponent play back of ball, what spin will return on jorgic? Can you explain this moment

    Even Ma long have problem on this serve, Dima on Tokio 2020 make many problem for Ma long)) but on wttc 2017 fan make reverse pendulum and ma long recieve very well deep short forehand

  • @TheZelluloid

    Dima does essentially the same, especially when he was a younger player. How come he was not as successful as Jorgic is right now?

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому

      Dima was a very good player when he was young, better even if I'm not mistaken. Don't forget that he got an Olympic bronze medal at about Darko's current age!

  • @user-vc7zk9tv4d

    Why they don't forehand flick on backhand corner?

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому +1

      Not very easy to do because of the rotation in the serve. You could do it, but mostly with low quality.

      @@OlavKTTT what do you think it od an ideal height for table tennis player?

  • @ramonbmovies
    @ramonbmovies 3 місяці тому

    Very good analysis. But this tactic fails against FZD and Ma Long and other top Chinese players. He has a lot of trouble beating them. And he only barely beat Moregaard.

  • @r1jsheth
    @r1jsheth 3 місяці тому +1

    players like fan zhendong can easily do backhand flicks on these kinda serves

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому +2

      Maybe better than most, but that's quite obvious since we're talking about the world no.1 and 2x world champ. Don't interpret this video as if I'm saying that this strategy has a 100% success rate. I'm just saying that it's a pretty solid system with few flaws in it.

    Hahaha just the tittle trigger me 😂 The effectiveness of his serve?! You mean how every forehand serve he does is Illegal 😆 And you only talked about the backhand serve 😂

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому +1

      Hmm admittedly I talked more about his backhand serve than his forehand serve, but I still dedicated some time to it. I guess you can call it clickbait then.
      Second of all: his serve is not illegal. A lot of people online don't seem to understand that the POV from the camera is not the same as the POV of the player, from where you can see more. And it's pretty clear that he moves his arm before the contact. + I can tell you from having played with him (and I gain nothing from telling you this) that his serve is ok and that there are much worse examples to pick out.

    • @Afropalmen
      @Afropalmen 3 місяці тому

      @@OlavKTTT The ball disapear behind his head when he serve forehand. Illegal. They littery show from the recievers angle. And yes there are alot worse examples xD Dang qui being another one. Just wish the umpires started to doing there job.
      And don't get me wrong. No hating on him. Just hate when people "hype" someonce serve when it's Illegal. But you only talked about his backhand serve that is totaly fine :D

    • @OlavKTTT
      @OlavKTTT  3 місяці тому

      @@Afropalmen I get that, but as a player I think it's not the best rule that the ball has to be visible at all times. I mean, you know at what height your opponent will touch the ball and if you see the point of contact, it's irrelevant to me if the ball 'disappears' behind the head for a few milliseconds. It's not even intentional, since it's a product of people naturally standing a bit leaned forward when serving. If someone wants to hide his serve, they hide the contact, not so much a part of the trajectory of the toss. But yeah, I guess that it's technically a non-reglementary serve.

    • @Afropalmen
      @Afropalmen 3 місяці тому

      @@OlavKTTT ofc it's a viable rule. The ball disapearing makes you out of pase. The ball "apear" at there racket and you have to react. Since every player who hides with face also push there shoulder forward to hide it longer. I catch the ball in my hand and toss it back and say serve legaly or we don't play at all. I'm there to play becouse it's fun 😁 Don't ruin it with bullshit serves 😂
