I’m guessing a lot of younger guys are buying the V6 Camaro/Mustang/Challenger/Charger vehicles, so here is my thoughts as an older guy who has owned plenty of V8 powered vehicles over the years. Basically, the modern V6 muscle cars are the equivalent of the older V8’s from years gone by and in the case of the Camaro in particular... they handle so much better than those older cars. My current daily driver is an old 2004 Mustang GT with the 2 valve V8 which only makes 260hp from the factory. Yes, the V8 sounds amazing, but the 5th and 6th Gen Camaro’s all make over 300hp from the factory. If you want the V8 and can afford it without compromising your quality of life or your credit rating, then by all means get one. If the V6 fits within your budget better then there is no shame in owning one. They are every bit as fast as the older V8’s and that is more than fast enough for the street. Another thing to consider. If you go V6 and someone wants to hate, ask them to show you a clear title with no lienholder on I t. Until it’s paid for, you’re just renting it as far as I’m concerned, so for the SS guys trashing the 6’s... unless your car is paid off, you don’t even own it.
This is awesome, exactly my thoughts. The girlfriends dad was wondering how the V6 from today can outperform the V8 from a 2001/2 trans am. It's crazy how good cars are getting and if V8 engines are still in production going on, mine will be obsolete!
V6 has a place although it kinda shits on the muscle car mystique. It’s still a dope car putting out 300 plus hp with a v6. But the 4 cyl is a disgrace to humanity
