Hi Leslie. I found one of your tiny art set videos a few days ago and have been ordering supplies ever since. I'm excited to start these little landscapes after too many years of having no time.' You have inspired me to make time in 2024 and enjoy the peaceful calm that art always brought me. That's a lovely gift, so thank you! P.s. I live in Switzerland, so i should ha e lots of inspiration! ❤
Switzerland has always been on my bucket list. It looks sooo beautiful! I hope you love your tiny palette as much as I love mine. I’ll be making more videos about my supplies and tips for plein air painting in the coming year. 😊
Great review! I bought one on Amazon for $6.00 a few years ago. I liked it until I lost it. Then I DIY’d my own out of wood scrap, spare neodymium magnets and gel nail polish. Then I wood burned my own design on it. Super easy project for anyone with a piece of wood and a drill! I enjoy making art supplies as much as making art.
@@art-is-awen8842 you heard right. Spare. Anytime a fridge magnet or anything else with magnets break, I save them. Because I know there will be a future use. Like a tiny palette!😁
I start college this year. So far the plan is to do engineering but I’m minoring in fine arts and got into your videos as a result of my recommendations. I love your little palettes, I got one for my birthday in August after being inspired by you and I keep everything in a little pink pencil bag. I’ve been painting for 15 years and i feel like I learn something new everyday!
That’s wonderful! Keeping a smaller art kit is a good way to encourage yourself to draw and paint because it will be easier to keep it up without getting overwhelmed. Best of luck in your studies. 😊
Hi, I love the tiny pallets so much I got one for myself and my daughter and Sister for their birthdays. It was so fun putting together a little travel set for each of them thanks to your videos. I can't wait to fill and use mine.
Thank you for the detailed reviews! I've seen several tiny palettes on the market, and it's great to know what to look for as well as some great brands to consider.
You’re welcome. When I got mine there was only the original so it was easy, but now there are so many imitations it must be overwhelming for artists looking for one.
Happy new year Leslie. Thank you for a very thorough review of tiny palettes, and your limited color palette recommendations. I just discovered you on IG and you have inspired me to start my daily tiny painting practice, perfectly timed for the new year. I shared one of your posts with my daughter and she gave me a tiny palette for Christmas! So no more excuses.
Thank you so much for sharing your art and reviews for these mini palettes. I have been wanting the GoDraw for some time now and after watching this video, you helped me decide to buy one! Thank you! ❤️
I watched another video of yours a couple days ago and you talked about the godraw palette and inkberry sketch book, went on line and found them. Should have them next week for my birthday. Looking forward to some fun. Thanks for sharing.
just an idea for your 3 well tiny palette. quinacridone pink, hansa yellow medium and thalo blue green shade. they can make almost any color. its amazing! have fun! love this video!!
So far the brands don't seem to matter, its those 3 colors that can make almost anything. I couldn't believe it at first. Have a lovely day!@@LeslieStroz
I second these suggestions, but I use Winsor & Newton permanent Rose instead of the quin pink. ( I will go explore that option soon, thanks) Hansa yellow medium by Daniel smith, PY , 97 is amazing. Winsor blue green shade too. These are the colours along with WN burnt sienna I recommend as mixing beginner palette as it is amazing what you can do with it. Just bought the mini go draw palette and sketchbook 🤦♀️, like I need another palette, but I was thinking…. Airplane rides where I ache to paint and it’s always such a fuss…. ❤❤❤ loving your videos!
How do you get almost any color with just three. I find even with primary colors I cannot get a lot of colors u want especially black. Ended up buying a tube of it as it was either brown red or blue rather than black.
@@leerag you need to use fresh paint and lots of it to get it black. First mix an orange and then add blue until you get through the browns to black. Water it down and you get the greys. If you use too much water with your pigments it’s hard to get to black, but play back and forth little of this, a little of that and then poof it’s like magic. I add WN burnt sienna to this triad as it is easier to get to black for me. This triad does work well. It’s amazing and fun to play. Try to add a touch of yellow to the pink until you get warm red… etc etc.hope that helps.
Hi Leslie! Thank you for leading me to your full review. I deleted my comment because I do see that your full review is very thorough and definitely understandable, so I deleted my comment on your short. You have explained the differences very adequately in this full video over your short. Thank you for doing such thorough comparisons. You have convinced me, a skeptic, that I want to invest in the godraw brand one.
Thanks so much for commenting here; I worried I’d somehow offended you. I’m glad this was helpful. I always try to show various options for different price points because not everyone can afford the best (been there!). I also always want to be honest if I think a product is inferior. If you like the cheaper tiny palette I think you’ll love the GoDraw. They are sooo lovely to hold and paint with. 🤗
@@LeslieStroz oh no, you didn’t offend me, but I like to admit when I’m wrong! You were concise and explained everything well in your message and video. I placed my order for the godraw bundle and I’m excited to try it out. Seeing the difference in sizing comparisons along with all the other options out there really helped me. Keep making the awesome content you do!
@@LeslieStrozokay, my godraw version came and oh my gosh. I was such a skeptic, but I’m a convert for sure. You raved about the quality, but it is so apparent the differences both have. This palette is definitely worth the higher cost. And the watercolor sketchbook. Gah. Thank you so much for your passion for the godraw palettes. They are truly beautiful.
Lovely presentation, Leslie! I’m quite taken by the go draw tiny palette, as you’ve been demonstrating them for a few months now, and I appreciate the breakdown of features that you like about the brand. Just before finding your channel some months back now, I purchased the small ceramic palettes from Etchr, which I do enjoy but are quite heavy (for me) to carry around. But maybe I just have to give it a bit more time!? In any case, thank you so much for your You Tube videos. I get a lot out of watching you as you choose, draw and paint your miniature plain air pieces! All the best for the New Year!
I also have the Etchr ceramics palettes. They are lovely but I don’t think I’d personally travel with them. These tiny palettes are nice because they’re light and easy to hold and carry. I also like that I can finish a painting relatively quickly. ❤
Thanks for the detailed review! I currently use two DIY palette kits but I'd love to buy a godraw or Blue Star palette in the future. Happy New Year and thank you for a wonderful year of sharing your art knowledge which helped me tremendously
Thank you so much for this thorough review! I bought one of the natsume pallets after seeing you use these small pallets in your videos. I opted for it because it was a little less expensive than the go draw pallet. It's good to know that the extra expense could be worth it. I found a pallet that's really similar to the natsume one on Amazon for less. When it arrived, if I hadn't already put paint in the natsume pallet I could have mixed up the paint wells (they're exactly the same size, same color epoxy with beveled edges, and the magnets work similarly on both of them). The only difference I found is that the Amazon one has the magnets that hold it as a pallet placed slightly higher in the wood - meaning the Amazon pallet spins easier than the natsume pallet. We'll see how the Amazon one holds up in comparison...
Actually I think maybe the Amazon listing I found has one of your videos on the page...the company is doing something awfully fraudulent there! 😡 I recognize the distinct concentric square pattern where the clip goes on the pallet - it's definitely your hands and one of Julia's go draw pallets in that video!... I wouldn't have bought that pallet if I had noticed before I purchased it - it's under the more "videos for this product" section on my mobile app, so I didn't notice it. I just saw that it was on sale for $10 (USD - I'm the States) and I could tell it should have beveled edges in the wells from the photos. The company is called Saint Kang if you feel like looking for it and telling them to take your UA-cam short off their posting.
Thanks so much for telling me. I’ll chase it up. I really hate when companies steal my images and videos to sell their products. I feel super protective of Julia and her design. I also understand that people have different circumstances and some can’t get them delivered to their countries. It’s a tricky one for sure!

@@LeslieStroz aww thank you so much. And thank you so much for your educational/informative videos. They’re really very helpful.
Hello Leslie,
which is the daniel smith paint set u are using? ( the one you show with the go draw pallet)
It’s their Watercolors Essentials set plus transparent red oxide and transparent yellow oxide. 👩🏻🎨
Excellent information!
What palette you used can you tell me please
Hello thank you ever so much for that nice tour through the pallets .since how many years are you using the pallet from go_draw by Julia? Wishing you a wonderful 2024 many greetings from Christiane 😊😊❤
Happy New Year, Christiane! I started using this tiny palette in February 2022… it’s almost my anniversary! 😅❤
happy new year!!!!🎉❤🐲
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
I have a question, won't the water colorpaint fall out if it dries?
I haven’t had that problem with the Daniel Smith, though the Winsor & Newton burnt umber did shrink and fall out, but I added a drop of water and reattached the paint cake. 😊
where can i buy one?
great video, cute little things ^^
Omg hi I’m finally first !!!!!!! I love your videos keep it going!!
Thanks so much! Happy New Year! 🎉
Thank you!
I wish I have this much patience & sincerity in whatever I’m doing 😂
Maybe you just haven’t found the right thing yet that calls to you? 😊
Where do you get that kind of clip from?
American grocery stores. They are clips for food storage.
Very nice video
Where did u get that tiny clipboard?!
I got it at London Graphic Centre in London, but you can find them online. Google “Penco clipboards.”
@@LeslieStroz thank you 😊
So one person designed it and others ripped it off?
Do you let the paint dry before closing and will it dry?
Let it dry and when yo use it you spray it with water 👍
جميل جداً💗🌸✨
She’s right cheaper not same quality I’m getting these ones instead
it is very sad that you are using Russian goods during Russia's invasion in Ukraine
I understand your feelings. I also understand that citizens can’t always be held responsible for the decisions of their politicians. She was a friend before the war, working hard to support herself, and has had to watch while others stole her design and profited from it. I have offered alternatives here for people to make their own decisions.
It's very sad you don't use brains
Good for you! ❤ We can't generalize all humans, according to where they're from.
