I don't know what it is but the tiny paintings, palette and just everything tiny related just seem to scream want! Get! 😂 there is something so relaxing about listening to you speak.
The molotow masking fluid pen is life changing. I use the blue Schmincke one at home but that pen is PERFECTION when doing plein air or if I see it within reach at home. Being able to easily transport and use masking fluid just elevates the painting experience and I don’t feel like my plein air work is compromising anything.
I just thought I’d tell you my idea in case you have students that can’t find the wilson wristbands… I use old cotton socks. I use the part that goes up around your ankle and that works wonderfully for blotting your brush
I have been following your mini sketchbook adventures on IG. I wanted to know more and you referred to your YT here! I have been challenged in grasping watercolor and color theory, I find it daunting and overwhelming...So, out of the blue, I became drawn to realistic drawing with graphite. Learning to work with just values has been rewarding! But listening to this awesome tutorial has given me encouragement for the future, when I am ready. I see mini sketching as the next transition....I love your demeanor and practicality! Thank you for sharing on YT!
Thanks for your lovely comment! Yes, learning to draw is such an integral part of painting well. I always had my students begin with monochromatic painting, and then a very limited palette (one of each primary and an earth colour like burnt sienna). It’s a great way to learn the medium. Best of luck to you! I have livestreams here that are sort of like mini classes. 😊
I had no idea you had a UA-cam!!! I'm so excited! I follow you on tiktok, you're the reason I started painting again ❤️ thank you for helping me find my spark a d for helping me discover my love for water color paint!
I think this is the first video of yours that I’ve seen. I loved seeing your tiny paintings and set up. I make my own sketchbooks and have a similar size. I made it using the off cuts from a bigger book. It has mixed media paper, but I’ve never thought to paint in it! I use it as my “emergency” sketch book which I carry in my pocket with a 4 colour bic pen to sketch if I end up waiting around somewhere. But if I go out with the plan to sketch I take a bigger sketchbook with pens and watercolours (in an Altoids tin). This has given me the idea to try painting in my tiny book too. Thank you
I'm happy to have inspired you to put your little emergency sketch book to good use! The tiny thing happened accidentally for me. I just thought it was adorable and it turns out I LOVE it! I hope you do too! 😊♥
I have the Natsume palette and I had to scratch up the wells so the paint would attach and it works great. Love your work and so happy to find your page so I could start traveling with a much smaller art kit THANK YOU!
I've used so many things to make mini pallets. I really enjoy playing around with palettes and make different ones for different purposes. I often paint in bed, for instance, so I have a bed kit I use to entertain myself while resting up. That set tends to be bigger than the ones I take outside to paint or when traveling. It is also fun to find items that can be used for pans for mini pallets such as tiny bottle caps or bending light-weight plastic sheets to make square pans.
It is the same for me. I love having and making different palettes and set us for different places and subject matter. I still have some bottle caps I’ve saved for making little palettes out of tins. 😊
I spent hours going through all your videos trying to figure out your supplies, and then poof...this shows up this evening! 😄 Thank you for this video! It's wonderful!! I can't wait to assemble my own kit!
Loved your video! Very educational. I have the pencil case and love it. I repurposed it for colored pencil extras like electric eraser, blenders, stumps, sharpeners, etc. I may have to rethink it for watercolor.
I converted a tiny flat tin that previously had mints in it. It fit 6 half pans exactly. I won a tiny pad in a Christmas cracker. I use the lid , which is attached on hinge to mix. I use a empty plastic tea light holder to hold water to rinse brush. Which I fill from my drinking bottle. I hike in old clothes so I happy to wipe on trousers. But paper towel is always in pocket for my nose. So this kit was completely free. That Russian set is very cute thou!
I just received my go draw tiny palette and tiny sketchbook. I also own a similar tiny palette and sketchbook that I purchased on amazon. There is such a huge difference between them. The go draw is superior in every way and the sketchbook is just beautiful! It’s certainly worth ordering and getting the go draw products! Thanks for the review Leslie!
Great info, thanks! Can you tell me what mechanical pencils you use? They look to be a super fine lead. And do you have any videos of you drawing your pencil sketch in the archives? Your miniature paintings are so intricate, I’m amazed at the fine and lovely details .
I made a time palette that is on a bracelet..not as fancy as these but functional and leaves hands free..next to it I have a sock with toe cut off and rolled up so it becomes a wrist band and can clean my brush. Perfect for line and wash.
I really love your channel! Discovering it has been a blessing, I never knew people could make tiny portable art like this and seeing you do it inspired me in trying out ❤, I didn't even know that travelling with art like this was possible and now I've subscribed to several art channels and have my own travelling art kit 😂❤ thank you so much for your content❤❤
Thank you for sharing. I have been looking for a little kit to keep my supplies in. I didn’t want to carry a big backpack everywhere, but I was thinking, I do need something. It’s amazing, because it seems like everything that I have ordered,One thing would be way too big and then I would order something else and it would be too small, so I guess what I’m saying is that you have the “ goldilocks” answer. Seriously, I’m going to get the same exact thing.Thank you
I’m slightly fascinated by these tiny sets. I’ve made up a tiny tin with six half and, I’ve another tiny tin with pencil, paintbrushes, eraser, but so far the only tiny notebooks I’ve seen are about £30 each. I’m awaiting delivery of an A6 travel watercolour notebook which I hope will mean I can start going out and about on my bike with a complete tiny set. Whoo-hoo! 🤗
Those were very nice ideas ...I really am very glad that I watched your nice video. I think that there are so many things that I will also buy. If I get them in Germany/ Europe. Greetings Christiane 😊❤
Eu adoro seus vídeos de aquarela, apesar de entender quase nada por não falar inglês... Continue com seu lindo trabalho! Saudações do Brasil! I don't speak english. (só sei falar isso... )
I love your videos from TikTok and I’m so glad I found out about your youtube channel! I’ve learned so much from you already. I hope to get one of those go draw palettes and sketchbooks soon but in the mean time I use Art Tool Kit palettes and small sketchbooks….not as tiny as go draw but I feel like you might like them:)
I saw that you were looking for possible replacement of your Prismacolor marker - Pigma Micron by Sakura. They are affordable and come in all colors as well as all the sizes. I just bought another set of all black 005, 01, 02, 03, 05, 08 off of Amazon for around $10-13.
I wish I could order the godraw, but unfortunately it doesn’t allow me to purchase so, I’ll have to opt for another brand. Still, very excited for it to arrive 😊
I've tried today to apply a bit more of your advice and Scott Sava's too ... and i really enjoyed it . I've painted a lovely lighthouse seascape 2.5"x4". I still have a question. What do you do when you put too much water to your surface ... it takes sooooo much time to dry sometimes ... how do you deal with that ? Is it just my Adhd that kicks in and i need to calm my nerve ? Is it the opportunity to meditate a little? Please, help :) thanks !
If you're in your studio space at home you can use a hairdryer. In the field it's unfortunately just a waiting game! I usually work in a different area of the painting whilst I wait for it to dry. You do get better with deciding how much water to add so you don't overdo it. Usually, paper dries more quickly outside unless it's a rainy day (hello, England!). :)
Hey Leslie, not sure if it’s mentioned in this video. I did hear in one of your videos that these were TSA approved for flying. But I just want to confirm with you. I bought everything you have in your green zipper kit. Can you confirm that those are approved to take with you on a plane: specifically American Airlines. Thanks Leslie, love your videos!!! You’ve brought back my enthusiasm to draw again.
Hi Leslie, I've just found your channel here. With the mini palettes such as Go-draw what is the cutout for in the top of both halves please? Best wishes, Dudley 😊
Can I ask where you buy the original godraw palettes from…I saw one called godraw on Amazon and ordered it but don’t think it’s legit 😭…I can’t find a godraw shop online 😔
Thanks so much for taking the time to post the info on this. Wish I had caught it like. Do you prefer the derwent 01 to the pentel aqua brush fine? Also looking forward to you adding the list/ links of the products in the description.
I don’t understand the sweatband thing. Other painters are wearing latex gloves to keep the paint chemicals off their skin, so they don’t absorb them into their bodies. But for some reason watercolorists are deliberately wiping their paints on their skin via the sweatbands. 😆
I don't know what it is but the tiny paintings, palette and just everything tiny related just seem to scream want! Get! 😂 there is something so relaxing about listening to you speak.
That’s so kind, thank you. 🥰 I love my tiny travel kit… it makes creating art so accessible. ❤
It is soothing seeing everything has a place and in a compact form!
Using the terry sweat bands for cleaning your brush is just genius!
That’s exactly everything I want in a travel kit. Even if I only travel to my couch. Thank you for sharing.
The molotow masking fluid pen is life changing. I use the blue Schmincke one at home but that pen is PERFECTION when doing plein air or if I see it within reach at home. Being able to easily transport and use masking fluid just elevates the painting experience and I don’t feel like my plein air work is compromising anything.
not only are your videos inspiring, but they’re also incredibly relaxing
You’re welcome! 😊
I just thought I’d tell you my idea in case you have students that can’t find the wilson wristbands… I use old cotton socks. I use the part that goes up around your ankle and that works wonderfully for blotting your brush
Great tip! I also buy generic ones on Amazon that I really like.
Thank you for this tip it is very useful for me and i am from india
Great idea! I've cut them off to use on my wrist to blot the sweat of my forehead while running/exercising! 🎨🖌️

You were an art professor! That’s so awesome! You’ve sparked my love for painting. Thank you for all you share!!

That brings me so much joy. Welcome to the wonderful world of watercolour!! ❤
Thank you for your kind words. We are very glad that you liked our sketchbook. You have amazing and inspiring works. Thank you for your creativity!
I LOVE your sketchbook! I am very sad that I only have a few pages left! 😊
What size is the sketchbook?
OMG! I never noticed the sizes on my View Catcher! I am contemplating which size and layout for my next drawing! Here it is to the rescue!
That’s one of my favourite features… so clever! 😊
I just received the pencil case today and I am already a big big fan! It is so perfect and fits all my needs! Thank you for your recommendation 😊
I hope you’re enjoying it! 😊

Awww. Thank you! ❤️

What a great video and so helpful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
3:53 I take an old sock I don't wear, cut it off and bam!!! You have a super cheap bracelet 😂
Clever!
Your "minnies"are sooooo expansive.thankyou for sharing your creativity with us.
🥰
The wristband is brilliant.

I'm an American who lives in England too. Nice to see a fellow American in the UK! 🙂
Excellent work and presentation
Oh, how funny! I like seeing the pen work at the beginning! I like the whole process!
Thank you! 😊

Ok, the tennis wrist band idea is pure genius!
What a great and helpful video!
Thank you for explaining everything. Great video.
That wristband is genius!

Not me binging your videos for the third day in a row
Great video. Enjoyed it. So many questions answered.

I’m also here from tiktok! I would love the water color set!
Thank you so much for this video! I came across your channel recently and this answers almost all the questions I posted under your shorts 😁😁
Wonderful! Happy to help! :)
These tiny paintings and pallets are very attractive 🔥❤️
They really are!
I've tried today to apply a bit more of your advice and Scott Sava's too ... and i really enjoyed it . I've painted a lovely lighthouse seascape 2.5"x4".

So what is that spray that spray on tiny pattle
Thank you, some really great ideas!
My pleasure! 😊

I have a palette from the same Artist! She does impecable work! mines a bit bigger
I have no idea that you have a UA-cam, that amazing ♥️
It's been a secret, but now that I've been creating content regularly here for a few months I'm letting people know. 😊
Hi Leslie, I've just found your channel here. With the mini palettes such as Go-draw what is the cutout for in the top of both halves please? Best wishes, Dudley 😊
It’s recessed for the clip. I have another more recent video about the tiny palettes. ☺️
Leslie can you tell me what colors you used in your tiny wooden pallet?
So clearly shared.. Thanks
My pleasure! 😊
Owesome 😊😊dear Are all these paintings are made by you??? Or these are already made...?
How can I buy this
Can I ask where you buy the original godraw palettes from…I saw one called godraw on Amazon and ordered it but don’t think it’s legit 😭…I can’t find a godraw shop online 😔
What size sketchbook are you using?
Why did you move to England? Is it temporary or forever. Would love to move there but probably not practical. ❤❤❤
Wow! Cool! Learned a lot ❤❤❤
I'm so glad! 😊♥
I lived in England for 6 years. Dying to return. Been over 40 years.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post the info on this. Wish I had caught it like. Do you prefer the derwent 01 to the pentel aqua brush fine? Also looking forward to you adding the list/ links of the products in the description.
The Pentel are my favourite!! The Derwent are my second fav. The replay has only recently posted so I’ll be adding links tonight. 😊
Brilliant. Thanks so much. It has been a fantastic insight into your art supplies.
These palettes cost $35 per piece? I think I'll pick the cheap ones ($8) from Amazon, thanks.
Can you tell how to make homemade plein air painting kit i want to tell you that you looks so cute and my name is ammu
I found these clips on the Internet called Hudson clips.
How old were you when started drawing? Would love to hear that story. ❤
Right! Do not order from a copycat! Let them come up with their own design. It’s just not right. How can I get the original if I’m not on Instagram?
❤
With the war going on I’d rather take the knock off for now.
It's definitely easier to get right now. I'd recommend the second one by Natsume Handmade in that case. It's very well made!
❤😊 👩🎨🎨🖼️🖌️👍🏼
Her: there's a lot of copy cats out there
Me: *buys copy cat product cus they are not that expensive*
Also me: *cry in broke*
I don’t understand the sweatband thing.

well I'm not buying anything from Russia...go UKRAINE...sorry...but the video's great..
seni izlemeli cok istilom ama türkce atyazı olmadıgından izlelemilom
Russia???? Ok. Not following you anymore. Meh.
That’s just the one she has she probably got it a few years ago. You don’t have to get that one there are other ones made from other places
(not a heater) I don't really understand why someone would do such a tiny paintings.
Brilliant! Thank you.
