So you could technically have a full body paint job and that hastle with the decals like some of the motor homes have. Sounds like a good deal you got.
@ollie1464 yea it would have been $5k to $6k for full body paint, but I was trying to manage the budget carefully. It's always a hard decision on how much money to throw at a 20 year old motorhome.
Yea I probably would do again, but I would go ahead and pay the guys to put a coat of wax before I left to protect, took right up to winter in Oregon which was not smart got few spots bubbling up after months of rain, my fault
Great information, any chance that they do RV roof replacements? I have a lot of soft spots. What insurance did you use for the RV? How were the roads leaving AZ?
@sldghamr58 yea, I saw a jeep they painted, and for most part think they do good work, I don't think I would take any classic, or especially valuable car to them, but then I saw some incredible work they did on a half million dollar motorcoach, so ...
Hmm I did share the price in my videos, as I recall it's in the video before this one. in summary they could do the entire RV in new paint for $6000, the work I did was $4000
@gruponemesis hey thanks for that info, biggest mistake I made was traveling straight to Oregon and subjecting the paint to continuous rain, its still looks great, but feel like a good wax would have been smart
@landnseaexpeditions6208 nah...wax is worse...its the reason for the no wash policy as almost all soaps have some kind of wax. The paint, although appear to have dried...continues to off gas. The hotter the weather the faster it off gasses. 90 days could be 2 weeks somewhere like south texas. Just paint my prevost...and at the orice you listed...i would have went there instead. Did the job myself but it was intense!
I’m sure everyone has checked in to the exchange rate. Seems to me if I have done it correctly that he spent around $80,000 ( to someone in Mexico). If you think about the skill it took to do this job (outside non the less) that’s what a dealership here would make doing the whole unit.
I have some questions about your paint job. Why did you decide not to take it to his shop? Could they have done the job faster at his shop? Did you have any safety concerns going down there? I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for the information.
@@matthewmoore7805 hey there thank you for the comment. Well I guess I could have booked a hotel, but I was trying to stay on a budget and Really more comfortable in Fin. Also I wasn't in any rush, a month of low stress life on the beach was so nice, I can't wait to go back. So yea they could have done everything in 2 weeks if it were in a shop, but If I had to do again I would still go to the beach. No safety concerns at all. I will probably be back in the future for upholstery and who knows
@gregoryn576 sure thing. That was almost two years ago, I have new equipment and a lot more filming experience about to come out with some good new content
Well the process getting to Rocky Point, negotiating, sanding, prepping, and what you can do while you are there is likely more important to most people than just the painting, but I do appreciate your comment and I will start breaking up the content in the future to make it easier to navigate.
I know several people who have had their motorhome radiuses repainted in Mexico. Due to clear coat cracking. All 3 of the jobs I've seen look great after a few years. I don't know, still skeptical!
Can I get the guys number that painted your RV?
The number for Abel Espinosa is 52 638 105 0941 Keep in mind he doesn't speak English, best to use whatsapp and Google translate
Enjoyed watching this seeing the area and the boats was fun
Great video.
Surprised the wind does not blow sand on the paint
Not a big problem with sand but bugs and other things can be, it's an option and less expensive to take your RV to his shop

I enjoyed your video. Five months later how is the paint job holding up and would you do it again?

Waxing a fresh paint job is the wrong thing to do, I always recommend at least 90 days so all the solvents come to the top
I wander how long the paint will last. It been spray outside with salty air.
After a year, how has the paint job held up?
@@toddtonis it's still looking great

It should be fine. Just don’t wash it, or let it get wet for 5 years.
Looks very nice. Can you share how much it cost? Thanks!

you should never wash a fresh paint job...90s days to cure. you could always use grease wax remover for spot cleaning.
Paint job came out amazing!

@gruponemesis appreciate the advice, yea if I do another one I will stay in Arizona a while

@CustomerService-d8n They do good work for the money
@@landnseaexpeditions6208 I agree they did do a good job.
this is correct.
@CustomerService-d8n So are you talking about exchange rate to the peso? Not even a factor because you negotiate the price in US dollar. $4k dollar

Please watch your videos. Try and hold the camera steady or get a stabilizer unit.

My big concern would be having drugs planted in my RV so I become a mule
@artdirdave well the security is pretty tight at that place so I don't think you have much to worry about.
Painting actually begins at about the 20 minute mark and ends at the 24 minute mark!! You are welcome!!

Wow, $4,000 is a deal I paid $2,500 to get my G20 van painted.
Yes, for sure among the best values you can find for a good paint job, and you can enjoy the beach, just plan to stay for a while.
Painting outdoor? So unprofessional.
You can always go to their shop and leave your RV, It also costs more to get painted at the beach.
And yet they still do a better job than what you get in the United States 😅
Bro... you are going down to Mehico to get your RV painted on the cheap. It's a miracle it came out this good.
@@hylomane they do consistently good work down there, I toured several RVs first that they had painted in years past they all looked good.
