  • There are atleast 28 dragons in the House of the Dragon and we showcase to you the timeline of each one of them. The series will depict dragons wielded as both protectors of various Targaryen factions but also as almighty weapons wielded in a war dubbed the Dance of the Dragons, a years-long campaign for succession among the various Targaryen claimants to the Iron Throne - a war that will prove tragic for all involved, human and dragon alike.

And not to mention Viserion acts like basically a big, scaly cat. A chill, sleepy boi. And gets aggressive if anyone threatens Dany, of course. So basically, like any Big or House Cat, but well, more emotional I guess, as a Dragon and not a Feline of course

its stated that dreamfyre was a very fertile dragon who laid many clutches of eggs, she had two by 43 AC and another somewhere in 49-50 AC. She had so many eggs it became an issue of trust for her rider Rhaena, who saw people either wanted the eggs for themselves or to get rid of them because they were afraid of being over run by dragons. George RRM stated that we would discovery the identity of Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal's mother and Dreamfyre is the only one to fit as she had so many eggs and was the only one who had her eggs stolen.
Also the *green* dragon egg taken by Deamon is quite possibly Rhaegal himself. the other possibility is actually Moondancer as they are the only two green dragons. I find it unlikely however as Rhaegal's egg "is a deep green, with burnished bronze flecks that comes and goes depending on how Daenerys turns it." and Moondancer "was a slender pale green. Her horns, crest and wingbones were pearl."
Edit: i completely forgot Elissa stole the three eggs before Baelon was born, so its either a nameless dragon that never hatches or moondancer.

Its very unlikely that Meraxes just had 1 egg... almost certainly, Silverwing (and perhaps Dreamfyre too) also came from Meraxes clutch of eggs. Saying this cause Meraxes was white and golden, Silverwing was silver, and so was Quicksilver. Silverwing is the mother of Syrax and Sunfyre which, based on color pattern, further support the argument that Silverwing has to be Meraxes "daughter" and Syrax and Sunfyre her "grand-children".
Grey Ghost is most likely (due to color) the son of Silverwing as well, thus also a descendant of Meraxes.

Vermithor was hatched in 34-35 AC, and was 'nearly 100' years old when he died in 130 AC. Sheepstealer was hatched 'in or after 34 AC' and 'well over 50' at the start of the Dance. Problem is this isn't specific, and we don't know the exact year or how much over 50. We DO know that Sheepstealer hatched when King Jaehaerys I Targaryen "was still young", and he was born IN 34 AC, so Sheepstealer could have hatched anytime in the next 20-30 years really! In other words, he could be anywhere from the same age as Vermithor to several years younger than Caraxes!
Depends on the dates Caraxes and Sheepstealer hatched, which we don't know.
They could even be siblings from the same clutch for all we know! Makes sense if they and Meleys were siblings by colours: red, red, and brown. More sense than the random colours in this vid at least.
From that Vermithor probably is older. Probably old enough to be Caraxes parent at least, maybe even Sheapstealer's, if he is 'only' 70ish to Vermithor's almost 100, though that would mean he was born *way* after 34 AC, in about 60 AC... we just don't know enough to be sure, which is why this vid is just pure guesswork.

@@leventmerlinsavana4554 That’s an interesting observation. But it’s clear by the design that they’re meant to be Syrax and Caraxes offspring.
In the show we know Syrax laid at least one clutch of eggs. We know this as Rhaenyra tells Viserys and Alicent that if syrax brings fourth *another* clutch then Aemond can have one of the eggs.
Dragons tend to lay in clutch’s of three. We see this with Drogon, Rhaegal and viserion. We see it with the clutch Daemon found (they were probably Stormcloud, Morning and little viserys egg which never hatched).
So it’s safe to assume Vermax, Arrax and Tyraxes were all laid in the same clutch of eggs. Jace had a cradle egg which means Syrax probably laid her eggs before Jace was even born. There would have been enough time for Caraxes to have got Syrax pregnant.
Plus we don’t know when Daemon actually left, was it a day or 3 years after Rhaenyras wedding?
Can dragons store sperm like reptiles in our own world?
How did Dreamfyre make prince Baelons egg? It was only her and Syrax in the dragonpit at the time. The only possible explanation would be Caraxes when he came to visit her from the vale.

    • @joshuaadams6565
      @joshuaadams6565 Рік тому

@@leventmerlinsavana4554 Sorry for such the long explanation. In short, I think Syrax and Caraxes mated on Rhaenyras wedding night. Then syrax gave birth to a clutch of three dragons around the time jace was born (around a year after the wedding). That clutch would have been Vermax, Arrax and Tyraxes. Dragons usually give birth to three eggs at a time, I doubt Rhaenyra would throw them away. They probably just kept them.
Although I might have to rewatch the scene where Jace and Luke pick out Joffreys egg. I’m not sure if they picked one of Syrax’s or a random egg from the dragonpit.

    My personal headcannon:
First of, I think Dreamfyre is the mother/grandmother of like 90% of the HOTD era dragons since she laid a ridiculous amount of eggs.
It doesn't really matter who laid Dreamfyre's egg though. It could be Vhagar, Meraxes, or maybe her egg was laid by an older dragon before Aegonls conquest.
I do, however, think she is the mother of (at least) Meleys, Seasmoke and Dany's trio, to name a few. (Seasmoke does look a lot like Dany's three dragons, and Dreamfyre is like a carbon copy). Caraxes could have come from her as well.
I wonder if Syrax is the offspring of Silverwing. Maybe it'll be revealed when we finally see Silverwing and what she looks like.

One issue that throws this whole video out if true. According to Barth and Maester Aemon, dragons have no fixed gender, they can apparently change it if they wish. So the named as male dragons such as Balerion can't necessarily be ruled out if that is so.
So many mistakes/pure guesswork made too:
I've seen Quicksilver referred to as male in some sources and female in different ones, but regardless, he/she was born in 7 AC. You said 10 to 20 AC.
No actual evidence for why Meleys and Caraxes had to be from Dreamfyres eggs either. Or Seasmoke etc from Silverwing's, if too late to be from Dreamfyre's, why not from Meleys? Or just delayed hatching, do we know how long they take to hatch?
'All the wild dragons were males', Cannibal could have been female for all anyone knows, not like anyone could get close enough to check!
Arrax was Lucerys' dragon, and Tyraxes was Joffrey's (HE was the youngest not Lucerys)
    - This whole video seems like a badly researched guessing game to me.

    (spoilers toward the bottom)
It is possible that some of the dragons born around the 100 AC mark were also from Dreamfyre, not necessarily Silverwing. In the show, the egg Daemon stole when he attempted to bait Viserys into coming to Dragonstone was was Dreamfyre's. And given how respectful the show has been of GRRM's work so far, I like to treat it as canon when it doesn't contradict with the books.
We do also know that the Targaryens weren't out of dragon eggs after the Dance. They possessed dragon eggs that they failed to hatch for at least another century or so. It's confirmed Aegon the Unlikely had one and that other members of his family had their own. And it's theorised the tragedy at Summerhall in 259 AC was a failed attempt to hatch one or several dragon eggs (which may have accidentally revealed dragon eggs are also grenades).
Odds are the last dragon eggs aside from Dany's were destroyed at Summerhall, given there's no mention of any eggs after that. And given the books make a big deal out of the dragon skulls being removed from the Red Keep's throne room, we definitely would have heard about eggs from Ned's internal monologue. No way he'd be able to hold out those intrusive thoughts when he was raising a Targaryen bastard. And Viserys (Dany's brother) would have mentioned having an egg if he'd ever possessed one.
But there could be some lost ones out there somewhere. I definitely think the 'great stone beast' Bran saw fly away from Winterfell was symbolic, despite being viewed from Summer's eyes and not a Greendream, but many theorise Vermax may have laid an egg at Winterfell, given Winterfell has volcanic activity, shown through the hot springs beneath the castle. Any cavern under Winterfell is actually a decent lair for a dragon.
And then there's dragons in Asshai, which Bran saw in book one. So we know dragons never actually went extinct. And the Cannibal, Sheepstealer and Silverwing all survived the Dance. Silverwing probably never laid another egg given she was grieving for Vermithor, and neither Cannibal nor Sheepstealer laid eggs in the past, but given both left Westeros they may have done so in the later centuries.

  • @wafflingmean4477
    @wafflingmean4477 20 днів тому

My theory is that Vermithor and Silverwing were hatched from Meraxes' line, since Dreamfyre's scales are more 'chromatic' than some others. Vermithor being nicknamed after a metal (the Bronze Fury) and Silverwing also being named after a metal could indicate more metallic-like scales (and Quicksilver likely was their older brother). Hence Sunfyre's unique colouring and texture would make him the hatchling of Vermithor and Silverwing. Hard to say which line Tessarion came from, but I think Syrax might have skipped a generation (we know eggs can sometimes take a very long time to hatch) and been from Vhagar's final clutch of eggs, since they have a very similar skull shape. And then Seasmoke, Meleys and possibly Caraxes could all be Dreamfyre's.
And it's also possible some of the third generation Targaryen dragons were hatched from some of the original other four (Balerion's older kin from Old Valyria), since some eggs might have taken a while to hatch but could have been laid pre-conquest.

I think there's a chance Grey Ghost may be a non-Targaryen dragon like the Cannibal, since Sheepstealer is never reported to have laid eggs (that I know of), and the Cannibal seems unlikely to mate with Targaryen dragons given how many he kills.
The reason I think Grey Ghost could still be a non-Targ dragon despite seemingly requiring at least one Targ-dragon parent is that eggs can go into a petrified state, which we see with Dany is reversible. She did it through blood magic, but what if it's also possible naturally? Say if an egg that was centuries old laid in a less incubated part of the Dragonmont was re-incubated when the volcanic activity changed, heating this egg's cavern and slowly reversing the process?
This would also explain why the Cannibal is only supposedly around Vermithor's size while having unknown origins. His egg may have been laid much earlier and then hatched on its own after a long time in stasis. And perhaps stories of Dragonstone dragons that predate Targ-dragons have just merged with Cannibal's origin story, referencing his ancestors, rather than him.
Grey Ghost also being of non-Targ lineage would explain why he remained so elusive even during the Sowing of the dragonseeds. He might be just as averse to Targaryens as the Cannibal, just far less aggressive, likely due to his age.
Definitely not a solid theory, but maybe a possibility?

Mayles and caraxys look like wolf headed dragons. Doesn't make sense that Drogon etc came from Dreamfire as well. They look like different species.

Do dragons breed? I'm not sure if grrm has said how dragons are hatched, but if they do need to breed, it would explain the difference in species depending on who their father is.

There are a couple of problems with this tree. There were three dragons in Dreamfyre's clutch that hatched in 50 ac not two, and the third should be Sheepstealer. Dreamfyre also had three clutches so you are missing one there.

There were no dragon names that corresponds to the eggs 🤷🏻‍♂️ as for sheepstealer hatched when Jaehaerys was still young, therefore he's vhagar's offspring

@@mindq4328 Jaehaerys was born in 34 AC and you wrote Sheepstealer to be born in 34 AC, that is not "still young" that is beiong newborn. If you would have wrote him being born in 50 AC like i said then it would still be when Jaehaerys was still young(14 yo).

It's kind of fitting to think that Drogon is the direct sibling of Meleys and Caraxes, both of whom are absolute beasts in their own right and Caraxes is noted to be the most vicious of the Targaryen dragons. Drogon takes after his big brother.

They are not looking like Caracas or Meleys, they are sibling of Seasmoke, Seasmoke is very similar with Drogon.
