A performance I never would have expected from Patricia Neal but she was perfection.
John Garfield: You're a nice girl, now be nice.
Patricia Neal: Yeah, nice, no future in it.

Ain’t that the truth! I’d seen at least six great movies starring Garfield (not even counting his supporting roles in movies like “Air Force” and “Destination Tokyo”) before I looked him up in the IMDb and discovered he’d died at only the age of 39! But he managed to leave his mark.

@@DeeEllEffhe had rheumatic fever, as a child, that damaged his heart. Like poor Bobby Darin. I heard that John Garfield died after a sexual encounter with Ida Lupino (?)

Garfield and Neal are terrific together in "Breaking Point." Great to hear Ms. Neal talk about their work together on the film.

Patricia Neal was such a classy lady. I read her autobiography and she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. ❤

Changing one's birth name is like slapping your parents in the face. It's disrespectful and unnecessary. This is especially true if it's done for the anticipation of greater recognition and or financial gain. It's like selling-out, to perhaps an Agent or Studio Mogul, while at the same time being ashamed of your Father.

You shouldn’t have to live with a name that other ppl gave you. Why shouldn’t you name yourself? It should be the most basic right you have. Smh. Native Americans changed their names as they grew up. Crazy Horse was born “Worm”.
