Man I just cracked open Civ 3 this weekend for the first time in years and I'm having so much fun with your videos. Never looked up exactly how the game mechanics work before, you outsmarting the AI with trade chains is fantastic. :-D
This scenario really highlights the game's historical inaccuracy as it pertains to the Iroquois. Not only did horses not exist in the Americas until the Spaniards brought them, but the Iroquois were not known for their mounted warriors. Any warlike plains tribe would do, maybe Cree or especially the Apaches or Comanches - who did raid the Spaniards btw.
Because you cant enter desert tiles in this scenario i honestly dont know how the mountains in middle of sahara are placed. You could make a city on the edge and explore it with culture growth but thats super slow. Also a barbarian encampment spawned in the desert and it had like 100 units because they couldn't move and no one could attack them
Had the same in mesoamerica in southeast corner...except they could move into my teritorry but i couldnt go over rainforests to get to their camp, weird stuff
I loved playing civ3 as a kid. Always would finish near the bottom though, and my civs would always have minus dollar bills 😂 Maybe it had something to do with the manual being thick as a brick, but then again I didn't understand English that well back then. Best civ game by far :)
It's funny but it makes sense, the Iroquois confederacy didn't even exist until after 1492 in all likelihood (the exact date of establishment isn't known).
Barbs in here real lucrative. You surround them with 3 aztec warriors and just make them into workers. Easy enough to win as aztecs ok n the defensive (monarch). Especially when you get a leader and make him into an army and go on to annihilate coastal cities
The French pronunciation is Iroquois. Where I'm from in Canada I've always heard pronounced like that, including from Haudenosaunee people. I imagine it might be pronounced differently in New York though.

*captures Quebec* "Y'know, as a Canadian, that's been a dream of mine for my whole life." I died.
"I wish I could go through my life with as much confidence as the Mayans just did in those peace negotiations." Ha, great video!

I started playing civ 1 in an snes emulator on Xbox 360, and played it for much time without knowing a bunch of stuff
@@Jadanbr I played Civ 1 in the 90s.
On an old PC. The game was on 4 x 3,5 inch disks ^^
Disks and Manual were black. Thats when it all began......
I love how the Iroquois’ UU isn’t even native to North America.

this is the only scenario i was able to control 70% except napolion europe, which i conquered as the Prussians
When I try to do this with the Sengoku scenario the editor cuts off the edges of the map. What's going on and how do I fix this?
Are you looking at the MP scenario or the single player one?
It's Iroquois, it's pronounced Earokoi if you live up in the area where they're from

I remember I played as mayans and got knights 😂😂😂
what i hate from civ 3 is the unability to create scripts on scenario
