In this video I install and give my initial impressions of the Bulletproof Mounting Solutions Phone Mount for my Jeep Wrangler JKU and compare it to my wife's RAM Mount she has in her Jeep. Is it better?

I feel like a very important point needs to be made about Bulletproof. Bulletproof now Bulletpoint is literally a straight rip-off of the 67 Designs mount, 67 started 4 years before Bulletpoint. Not only that but Bulletpoint is NOT made in the USA while 67D is fully designed and made in the USA. Makes it a lot easier to charge less when another company's engineers already did the work and you have China make it for you. I know not everyone cares about that but its something everyone choosing should know.

Just ordered one for a RAM 1500 5th Gen. I prefer the support with magnet sinve my phone case has metal already, and it's easier to put in or out with one hand. I don't like support which squeezes the sides of the phone, that messes up with the phone buttons. I have a Samsung S21+. Good review.

One question that I don't see covered anywhere in reviews...does it get in the way of steering? Looks like I would clip my hand on it all the time.
Thanks for the review! I'm looking at the Bulletproof mounts for my Ram 2500 - my new iPhone 12 Pro Max is HEAVY and the iOttie plastic mount I was previously using just can't take the weight. I appreciate the review and am definitely going to dive more into this system - thanks!

@6:17 the double sided tape had already came loose on the base, you can see the base moving during phone install. Did you ever reattach with double sided tape? Likely ordering my kit very soon. I have this set up in the Ram 1500 and it works great just need one for the Jeep.
Very envious of this set up. Can’t use it on mg end. Have an aftermarket radio and most require you to remove the metal bracket under the dash which eliminates that top screw. Nothing to screw a phone Mount of this type into. Oh well.

Will this work if you removed the metal stereo bracket that the bolt drives down into underneath the tray?

They dob't currently make one dedicated for Toyotas but they do have a universal mount that I'm about to use for my wife's Grand Cherokee.
This is a review!? Functions well in your garage. But, how about on the trails?
It's been great on the trails!! Haven't had an issue coming lose and still holding the phone tight.
When mounted like that, does it obstruct your view of the radio/navigation screen?

I don't see why it wouldn't. I've had the phone mount for over a year now and it's still doing great!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Very good. Thanks. I found a bunch of reviews about the cell phone holder, but not about the tablet holder. The funny thing about the bulletproof site is they say the base is not included, but they don't say anywhere which base is needed. In your kit it looked like the base was included. Anyway, thanks for the video and your quick reply to my question.

The universal I think. It should say on their website.
Have you seen the track form mount it is just like the one you reviewed but you buy only the phone mount on amazon 29.95 and it fits ram mount ball mount so you don’t have to buy a bunch of new stuff. I use this in my Jeep cherokee Trailhawk it work great.
I haven’t seen those. Sounds good though.

It's always disappointing to me to see confusion in the market like this. Who was first, which is the original, who stole what from whom? They are virtually identical save the 67 on the adjustment knobs.
@@John90XJ Agreed, I wish I knew because I don't like to support the thief. Bullet Proof does have a metal version of base which 67d doesn't have, but from what I can tell it was 67d that made the rest first. Bullet Proof has a lifetime warranty, 67d has 6 months. That makes it a tough decision!
@@John90XJ 67 Designs was always way overpriced to me. With Bulletproof you get more for less money. Time will tell on the quality and how well it holds up to bouncing around on the trail.

Yes I do and it's still holding up great after a year. I would not hesitate to get another one.
