I left the car audio installation biz in the '90's because vehicles were getting more complicated to install. Auto manufacturers made aftermarket installations much more difficult and factory units were getting better. These newer "black boxes" are awesome. A little expensive, but made wiring and integration much much easier. The industry did not even make factory radio harnesses when I started installing in the '80's. Lol.
@@chuckw6099 Me too. I installed in the '80's & early '90's. No harnesses needed and you could make your own kits. I then worked for /////ALPINE for almost 10 years and and started another career when I saw the end of 12v profitability . I still install 'on the side' and recently installed a X409-WRA-JL for a friend. Nice unit. I sometimes miss the old days and definitely don't miss needing the right firmware to get aftermarket products to work.
well, this proves it Your phone is listening to you Just bought a JT and was lamenting the quality of the radio while I was driving home. First video that shows up on my feed. And yeah, I'm buying this stereo
My girlfriend getting a Jeep soon , one thing I wanted her to get was the 8inch upgraded infotainment system, after watching this we can save about 600 dollars and get this which is much nicer and looks factory , great job to the engineering team at stinger for this one , unbelievable!!
This might be the first time I've heard someone praise built-in navigation versus mobile-based navigation. Living in Houston, there's always road construction or new neighborhoods being built so the built-in maps become outdated after about a year. Android Auto and Apple Carplay saved the day more often than not. :) Loving this video BTW!!
Mobile phone Nav will always be superior with the instant updates.... until you don't have cell phone service out in the sticks and have no idea where you are. Built in nav comes in great for that situation as noted in the video
Not sure if that's their intention, but I love how some of those plugs are recessed into the unit so you don't have to worry about bending or damaging the plugs during fitting.
Companies that have that service after the sale are the ones that grow a following. These guys have that from the start. Well thought out and comprehensive video support through out. Oh yeah, that’s good stuff. Good video Mark. Showing wire routing and tie ups. I like the routing help. Having few if none power crossings. It’s good to have power and line wire separated. Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
@@CarAudioFabrication, sometimes that happens. This company seems to have a lot going for them. Their forward thinking and the support mechanism they have in their product is both refreshing and very helpful to anyone who uses their site. Other companies could benefit from their example. We have a 19' Rubicon with the 8.4" screen and alpine factory sound system. I'd say we are content with it for now. Nice to see another option out there when it's time to upgrade. Can't wait to see what you do for speakers. I was a little disappointed when I found out they went with smaller speakers in this generation of Wrangler.
Was looking into getting one of these! So glad to see someone who knows their stuff covering it! Most of these Jeep UA-camrs don't have the first clue about the specifics of the product, this thing looks awesome.. The other options on the market are either WAY to MUCH or crappy looking. The font of the "Insane Audio" one alone makes me throw up a little. This Stinger is very nicely done and a great price point.

I’m so excited about this Jeep build, the OEM head unit and speakers in Jeep’s are terrible. Really quality videos you take ur time on each video, give detailed and useful information, and really capture the functionality of the product. Keep it up!
I just had this installed on in my 2021 Wrangler Rubicon yesterday, including the integration kit. So far, its running well and really looking forward to having this system. Its really feature rich compared to my 7" unit.
@@CarAudioFabrication atm I'm just working on my 92 crown vic build. The custom builds have definitely given me a lot of ideas. Gonna try to work in some fiberglass enclosures. Been a fan for a long time. Keep up the great work!

By far the best aftermarket replacement I have seen yet. I wonder if they will offer a wrangler 392 compatible option. As I believe it has a few other pages but I may be mistaken. Mine hasn’t arrived yet so I’ll have to look into it more.
I actually have a new heigh 10 for sale because I don't want to take out my RSX-Gs9. For some reason no one has purchased it in three months and I have it for only $900. Maybe everyone needs to see this video to understand how awesome it really is
What no one talks about. Is the fact u have to spend another 179 on the sd card to use the navigation. And another 68 bucks on the xm module to use xm radio. And don’t show how to hook it up. It’s a great radio but these things should be made more clear to the customer.
What are your thoughts on the handsfree quality on the Stinger? We just picked up a 2020 Jeep Wrangler and looking to have the local car audio install the Stinger and new Alpine Speakers. Thinking about adding an amp and sub, but not sure I want to spend the extra $$$. Thanks
I will never understand how all of these aftermarket units can retain all of the canbus settings and connectivity but every single one of them requires an additional microphone and GPS antenna. You can connect to all of the vehicle settings, no excuse for not retaining the the factory mic and GPS antenna.
Great Video as always! been wondering though, do you have any videos going in depth on ports? Such as calculating how much port area you might need or what the differences between different styles of ports are? Ive been looking for a video like that but I don't think you've made one yet. :(
Love your content love you build but can you please do a video of installing speakers into all four doors itself that you have to actually cut into the door panel would be awesome I'm planning on getting the ds18 door pods for all the doors but the speaker's I'm going to be putting in half to get cutouts done to the door panels so I would like to see it actually getting done on video so I have a better idea what am I getting myself into thanks a million keep up the good work

My only question is does the Stinger High 10 still provide the internet that the factory provides? For example I have a silverado and GM has a build in internet connection.
I have the more basic AC / Heat controls (no auto) I assume the AC controls won’t work on this head unit because of that, right? Little unsure how the AC screen will look like in my case. One of the reasons I like the idea of getting this head unit is that it has a volume control knob. In my case when I upgrade I’ll lose the only volume control knob I have and will be limited to steering wheel control. This solves that issue. Great video!
