Please click on YOUR link to the recommended fuse tap and read the comments of all of the people that found that the fuse tap does not fit into their fuse holder of there vehicle. Specifically see the May 9, 2022 comment which is from another F250 user also saying that they are "too thick". On an F250 the fuse block of the truck requires that the fuse tap has the same shape as the actual Micro2 fuse. The product in your link does not have the same shape as the Micro2 fuse. It is too large to ever fit. I finally found the correct fuse tap (one that has the same shape as the micro2 fuse and it fits like a glove). I do like your video and would recommend your channel.
You did a very nice job with this install and the video was excellent, your voice audio and music is at a comfortable well balanced level. Excellent at every level.
To those who are scared about the wiring just pre-run all the wiring and take it to a stereo shop. I had them power in a dash cam and this usb charger in less than 20 minutes.
Perfect tutorial! I was looking for a way to mount a RV rear view camera screen and was not happy with having the cords running down the dash. I was able to take my 2017 F250 dash apart following your instructions. I have the parts on order to install the mount and the power.
Why did you feel it necessary to include the inline fuse that came with the fuse tap? It might be very difficult to reach if it should blow. Also you might add it is easier to drop the glove box to reach a wiring route!
Thanks for this video. I did this yesterday. Love it. I put a different power outlet in though - 2 x USB-C and 1x USB-A. Not sure what phone mount just yet, but main reason for me was to mount my GoPro for when I go offroading. I have the heated steering wheel, but did not have time to check what other fuse option to choose. Will test this out over the next few days. Hopefully the 2 can co-exist (heated steering wheel and power).
Excellent video. I did everything you did except the hole saw you used is too big. I had to use 1"1/8. Also my power adapter won't fit after install. When I put back in the shelf the power supply hits part of the electronic unit mounted to the dash frame. It's like this for me what ever I try. It's never like the videos and there's always problems. Not sure how to remedy. I'll probably have to get a new panel and start over and also ditch the backing plate. 2020 F150 Lariat 5.0
Awesome video, everything worked until I got to the fuses. My power locks didn’t work after the install. I swapped the fuses to both 20amp fuses and that did the trick. Incase anyone else ran into this
Ok quick question, I have a 2019 F250 STX, my truck doesn't come with the speaker up top but it does have the wiring for it however I want to wire a CB radio into it but have no power to it, where should I start
Did you find a fuse to use? I have a platinum tremor and will be attempting a similar install today. Was wondering about wiring to an uplifter switch instead.
@@alexg0742 I have a trailer backup screen, trailer tire pressure monitor screen, and a wireless online charger. I'd like to wire them up to uplifted switches so I can power them independently when not towing. I may try and attempt this afternoon.
I’m new to doing any kind of wiring to any vehicle, please excuse my ignorance but do I necessarily need to install the power outlet with the fuse it comes with? Can I cut it off since there’s already going to be a new fuse in the fuse box?
Please excuse my ignorance, I’m new to doing any kind of worrying to a car. Do I necessarily need to leave the inline fuse on the power outlet wire? Would there be any consequence if I were to cut it off being that it would already be protected by the fuse that would be in the fuse box?
The fuse tap does not fit into a 2022 F250 - please change your product suggestion to keep others from wasting time. The shape of the fuse tap is not tapered like the F250 fuse block requires
One of the best DIY videos I have seen in a long time - no non sense fluff - no steps missed- great job!!
Thanks, happy to help
Thanks. Good video. I should say, Don't Forget To Hook Up Your Speaker When You Put Things Back Together!

Fantastic video. Thank you for all the details!! I’m doing the exact same thing this weekend!
Great explanation and showing of what’s up with this mod. Very helpful. Thanks!

Can you provide part # for that usb port
Outstanding video, I’ve been looking for a way to re-route my wires and your install is a perfect solution. Well done sir. Well done.
Great video thanks for sharing. Adding that USB socket makes it look even cleaner.
Do the RAM mounts come with screws and nuts?
great install video and easy to follow. I will install mine tomorrow.
Watched, installed, works great, thanks.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing

Great video, Why did you use the 10 amp fuse instead of the 20? Does it make a difference?

Does the digital voltmeter reflect on to the windshield at night when it’s dark???? Such a great idea!! Thanks for the tutorial.
Mine doesnt
Is there a way to make it a constant power source so even when the car is off it will be charging? Great tutorial by the way!
Yes! You just need to pick a fuse location that is already constant on
@@PatriotDIY lol… not real good at this, how would I know?
@Hugh Waddington cant think of one off the top of my head but the owners manual should give you some idea.
Does the LED on the USB charger reflect off the windshield at night? Thanks!
Not in my truck
You didn’t hookup the speaker. Great informative video though.
where is the list of items you installed ?

Why did you choose builtright (vs bulletpoint). How has your experience been with the builtright. Would you still use them if you had to do it again?
I have several builtright products and happy with all of them!
Thank you. Are you in Dallas TX by any chance?

Are you still able to use CarPlay/android auto with this set up?
My Android Auto works through Bluetooth so yes, but this port won't have the same connectivity as the one below the screen.
What case are you using on your phone?
Otterbox

Actually it does fit ,its a micro 2 size fuse tap which is the size required. It's also the exact fuse tap that I used in this video for my 2022 F250
@@PatriotDIY A 2022 F450 takes a Micro 2 fuse / tap. Found this out when RexingUSA (dash cam) sent me the wrong fuse taps (Mini), which are too big.
