    Ah, finally I found someone who reveiwed the Wind RWD EV6. I think you maybe the only one. Every other reveiwer is reviewing the AWD versions. We've owned a EV6 Wind RWD since April and agree with most everything you said. The only thing I would add is that Kia could have added more cushion on the bottom of the seats for the buttock area for long trips. Let me also add that we found that it seems to get about 280 miles on the highway without the air conditioner on. In the city we are getting around 320 miles in the summer with the a/c on. We took a trip to Yosemite in May and it charged so fast that we had to eat our meal quickly in order to walk back to the Electrify America station before being charged a penalty. Oh and don't forget that Kia gives you 1000kW of charging free at Electrify America stations with the EV6, so our trip to Yosemite was completely free. It also handles steep mountain roads extremely well with no overheating of the battery like people are seeing in the Mustang Mach-E and what we saw in our old 2017 Bolt EV. Thanks for the excellent review.

      The AWD Ev6 spends 90% of its time in RWD mode so I prefer to save my money and get good all-weather tires instead!

    Interesting Range Drop with the Heat. Most people only talk about the cold effect on range.. Really appreciate you mentioning this. I always wondered how the heat would affect range on these vehicles.

      A lot, our ionic drops from 310 down to 250 when its warm + ac. (MIAMI, FL) 90+ degree weather

    Thank you for including desert temperature ranges in your tests. I’m just down the road in El Paso and want to make a good EV purchase decision and not be shocked by range loss.

      I was doing the same and realized Kia is now price gouging like every other corporation these days. You can't get out the door for less than $60K on the wind trim now.. This is why Tesla is still winning the EV game smh
      Edit: Just found the light trim and thought I hit jackpot, guy told me "mid 50s" once the car arrives.. smdh

    Thanks for the great review, Sam. Was considering an EV (Ioniq 5), none to be found here, but find there are EV6's available. Glad to know the effects of temperature on range for an EV.

    Does anyone know if you can upgrade the tech on the 2022 Kia EV6 wind rwd to get the camera options and the turn signal image on your dash?

    Thanks for the great review! Do you know if the black plastic cap around the wheel is replaceable? I wonder if somebody will make body-paint matching replacements in the future.

      You can surely remove them and have a body shop paint them.

    I’m not familiar with charging locations for this type of charger. How hard or easy is it to find those when on trips? Could you use Tesla chargers, or do they have to be specific to a certain type? Thanks!

    I'm looking forward to getting the 2023 Kia Wind RWD model. What I'd like to know, if this model can be bought with a sunroof as an option?

    I own an ev6 i have put 600 miles on it and the review is right on except im getting what is says for miles. ok about the charging i bought the grizzl e charger with 25 feet of premium hose and i dont have to back in. The miles at home were 301 and fast charge at work was 277. my at home charger charges at 9.4 at 40 amps level 2 chargers work 6 and 10. a note for saving miles is the ac controls have a driver side ac only button. all in this is a solid choice for an ev. i live in Charlotte Nc so the temp is 85 nity five.

    How much of what was said in this review of the '' Long Range'' model would not apply to the ''Light Wind'' smaller battery model?

    • @TestDrivenTV
      @TestDrivenTV  Місяць тому

      Power levels, range and some handling characteristics would be different because of the smaller and lighter battery.

      @@TestDrivenTV In a perfect world, I would love to see the cheaper albeit slightly smaller range battery of the Light Wind trim KIA EV6 in the 2022 Year (which is being discontinued I think) have a deep comparison against the 2022 Kia NIRO EV, with it's 10.25 MultiTouch Screen, but much slower charging times on Level 2 and Level 3. (Both of these models in the used marketplace can vary only like 4,000 with similar miles, and I'm trying to justify how this Light Wind Trim , is worth it. Do you think the Light Wind suspension is noticeably superior ? (you still get a multi link rear suspension in the 2022 KIA NIRO)
      any random thoughts are much appreciated, for example I really appreciate that you mentioned the exact decibel sound score of 52, not a single other UA-cam EV review, on any EV has ever taken the time to measure the highway sound noise, that precisely.

  • @OlDoinyo
    @OlDoinyo Рік тому

    According to relativity, the battery is actually a tiny bit heavier when charged (though you would struggle to measure this.)

    WTF... It is the Frunk of a AWD. The RWD is much bigger. How come?

    • @TestDrivenTV
      @TestDrivenTV  4 місяці тому

      Because there is a motor in the front of an AWD model that takes up more space, the frunk cannot be as large.
