Ooh, firefighting robot. Would be good to see that at work. Good of you to be there to cover an interesting story. I think you can see the soot above the hangar doors?
Yeah I live locally to it, has its own fire service through Securitas I think they only have 1/2 appliances though never seen more than that. I believe they're based on Walney airfield as that's part of Bae Systems as well
Yes it has its own fire service, they only have 2 pumps on site though. As far as I’m aware the incident was 15 pumps and 4 specials with appliances being pulled in from many north Lancashire stations.
I know that is the logical reason why most units did not use their sirens but with this particular site, is there another reason such as causing panic with theneighbours?
@@davideddy5877 Well, that could definitely also be something they took into consideration. That being said, its very common practice in Europe, not to use sirens at night. Theres rarely a need for it, the only thing we get out of it is waking people up. I know my own country has a switch, for a ''night-siren'' which is a siren that isnt as loud as the regular one, but still warns vehicles and other people in the traffic.
Lol.. The most radioactive component there is a smoke detector. But, if you'd gone back 40~50 years, that title woukd have gone to the luminous hands on the night watchman's alarm clock.
Love how if the crews are from liverpool and lancashire they will still drive that 3 hour drive to get there
Not to mention some of the HART vehicles coming from manchester
Excellent video mate. Gutted I couldn’t get there.
Great video Ben!
Thanks!

Nice to see most crews using common sense with no sirens in the middle of the night

Lucky to be on scene when it happened! Great video mate. Also how did you get the HART callsigns?
Thank you, The HART callsigns are displayed on the vehicles.
@FirePhotos Thanks, I know where I am they are displayed on some vehicles but I wasn't sure about your area :)
Nice video, how did you find out it was ongoing considering it was the middle of the night.
It’s a COMAH sight on fire, I would be very suprised if people DIDNT know about it!

It's a good job to build the yard next to loads of water.
That will in the van left pulling over a bit late
Yes lad 🎉
Surprised the Russians haven't been blamed for it
I blame N. Korea
That would be admitting that they have some competence.
