      Grace Heyne That's so amazing! Proud of you! ✊🏻🌿 IF I could recommend you a couple of books, I'd recommend: How Not To Die, The China Study, and Proteinaholic. HNTD has a LOT of information that's so helpful! Always important to make sure you get B12 & Vitamin D from either sun exposure or D2 since D3 isn't often Vegan. Have a lovely day!

    • @TheObsessedGardener
      @TheObsessedGardener 6 років тому +1

      Hi Grace-!
      Are you whole foods vegan? I've been vegan almost six years and only started whole foods for six months. Love the change.
      All the best.

    • @Whiskur
      @Whiskur 6 років тому

      you who You can get everything you need as a Vegan. All my blood results are normal, even better than normal before I was Vegan. Animals are supplemented with B12 via a shot or feed. - Are you aware that B12 is actually a bacteria that blankets the Earth? So if you eat an animal carcass that's been on ground for a long time that eventually that bacteria would spread? - Alright so now that I way B12 is a bacteria that isn't made by animals or fungi naturally what about Vitamin D? Well, Vitamin D can be sometimes found in mushrooms from sun exposure and you know how humans can get it? The sun! 10-15 minutes a day. - I've studied to make sure my lifestyle is best for my own being. Having a plant based diet has been best thing for my health as well seeing as I was allergic to dairy and eggs beforehane. Meat my body couldn't digest due to the fats because I have no gallbladder. So before you judge to say it's best to eat meat once a week? For me? It's not. And I wouldn't want to either. Go to your local animal sanctuary before recommending meat, I feel you'll change your mind. - That's all! ✌🏻

    • @Whiskur
      @Whiskur 6 років тому

      you who If you do love animals as you say you do, then please educate yourself more on their welfare and well-being. Educate yourself on how they are raised close by you or where you get your parts from. - I am so sorry if I come across as aggressive, but, that is one thing I used to say, 'I love animals, they just taste good so I couldn't go Vegan'. I saw my dog and there was a lamb in a person's yard near where I live. I noticed the similar faces. Both just want love and wag their tails when happy to see people. - There are many other things I saw that made me realize, 'If it's not good on my eyes, how could it possibly be good for my stomach?'

    • @Whiskur
      @Whiskur 6 років тому

      you who You're right, animals do eat other animals to survive. We don't need to be breeding animals into existence for our pleasure. We don't need to go out with a gun to kill a defenseless animal or hang it upside down and stab it in throat so it'll bleed out as it thrashed about. - There are so many good replacements out there without harm to animals and less damaging to our environment because at the rate we are going, it's not sustainable. - I'm done talking now. I wish you luck. You'll come to reality someday, and I hope it's soon. ✌🏻

      Umm doubt it. In the near future we will have alot more to worry about than what we are eating. People will eat whatever they can find. People need to wake up to the real problem in the world and that is government and the people who run the world like world banks. All these FEMA camps everywhere and police and military getting ready to keep citizens at bay. I get the idea of changing how we eat and do things but it is pretty unrealistic at this point in our current state

    • @zenmint
      @zenmint 6 років тому +4

      its very realistic to choose a cruelty free option in supermarkets all over the world now.
      animal agriculture is the leading cause of climate change.
      the meat, dairy and egg industries all get paid more than all the transportation industries combined.
      if youre really against the root of the problem, capitalism, you would be vegan being that its the most sustainable option that doesnt support big money.

    • @gregbernard4466
      @gregbernard4466 6 років тому +4

      carley schaffer defy the system. I agree about the government and I think for myself. They have less control. Think about the estrogen releasing implants in every cow becoming part of the cheese and milk and yogurt and ranch dressing. Avoiding facts is no protectiom from them. How would it be if everyone deprogrammed. In fact Cowspiracy was about govt lies about meat and dairy.

    I’m ‘almost’ vegan. This Saturday I’ll be 7 days vegan. Not sure if I’m committed yet. I know animal products are awful but I’m still figuring out what I eat. For breakfast before school I just eat cereal or have a smoothie + bagel. Lunch I pack PB+J and fruit/nuts. For dinner I feel like I need variety.. I mainly just eat quinoa, fruit and veggies. I don’t want to have any deficiencies down the road so I’m slowly easing into it. I mix it up when I eat out but I have a very narrow selection of meals at the moment. If anyone has any advice that would be great.

    I love the way you worded it as a good deed, it's very catchy in a totally positive way, makes people think too which is never a bad thing, great stuff Joey. It's very nice to see so many people switched on and aligning their actions with their beliefs.
    Recently I made a vegan black bean and brown rice burger and it was so bloody filling and gorgeous. When I was mixing the ingredients, it tasted so nice that I was debating with myself if I even wanted to make it into a burger shape, just eat it out of the mixing bowl with a spoon instead hahaaa =P
    It's a good deed for the animals, karma and your taste buds ; )

    Joey so inspiring, there is a creeping spirituality starting to work through you. Your eyes are luminous with kindness. Many vegans are, it's an amazing side effect of being vegan. I'm not talking here about Atheism or Faith. Just an impersonal underlying state of being or consciousness. I think the format of the video is spot on. Both in time and content. The whole vegan community are inspired by your titanic efforts. I'm sure the animals of this world would thank you if they could. They can't, thats why your a voice for the voiceless. so I would like to thank you for them. My respect and admiration. Joe

    The most important words in this video, in my opinion are... "I will try again". 11:10 because I feel that keeping the motivation to be vegan and push through years and years of immoral conditioning is an extremely hard thing to do. In my experience, during the first year of being vegan it was a process of phasing in and out of living a vegan lifestyle. I made excuses like "I'll be vegan when I get out of college and have more time"..."It's hard to be vegan right now because I'm living in my parents' home and any free food is nice"..."I will just eat animal food when absolutely necessary"... But eventually I learned more recipes, gained more knowledge and overcame those excuses because I "tried again" multiple times until it stuck for good. If you're experiencing these phases, please don't give up and never doubt your ability to grow and learn new things.

    • @danvroque
      @danvroque 6 років тому

      I understand the whole click bait thing but I’m putting myself in other people’s shoes, people that eat animal products obviously... if I read that, yes it might make me want to click on the video but it still doesn’t change the fact that the word “pressures” has a negative connotation to it, then it would be easy for me to misconstrue Veganism. Like I said, these are just words of constructive criticism, I mean no hate, I’m vegan myself, I want to help this movement thrive and if there’s something that I know could hinder it, I will speak up.
      Again, much love to you Joey, you have no idea how much I appreciate you. Thanks sooo much for your MASSIVE contribution 🙏💙

      Want to be able to provide some type of possible solution since I am bringing this up...
      Maybe “CONVINCING STUDENTS AND A LION TO GO VEGAN”
      Or “EDUCATING STUDENTS AND A LION ON VEGANISM”
      With a captured shot of the lion and you on the thumbnail
      It’s captivating enough and that’s just one suggestion!
      The point is to think...
      “What is something interesting that happened on the day of the outreach that I could leverage?”
      In this instance, you interviewed a lion, that is perfect, Use unique experiences as tools!
      I hope this helps!

    How is it a good deed to not stab someone unnecessarily?

  • @tammym7940

    @Joeycarstrong I think the problem is that looking the other way is such a traditional way to be. However, don't we all need to be the best we can be in all situations? i would say yes indeed. So history needs to be changed by the way traditions have people programmed. But how do we get them to really SEE? I try everyday to share tidbits of my lifestyle. I think it may work in mysterious ways. Veganism does make us become a better person because we become more with the Earth and animal life. My advocacy for many causes has risen consistently. It's a lifestyle that i love. I get those crazy curious looks but thats because of the closed mindedness that surrounds me. It's okay because i find it to be quite entertaining in that person's #ahamoment

    I would have liked it more if the title was more positive as well. Maybe something like "Lion Considers Veganism" or some other catchy thing. Just a thought.

    I wish you could talk some sense into my mom, she is very against me altering my diet from vegetarian to vegan. It’s a struggle being the only non-meat/animal product consuming person amongst my family and friends. All I can do is hope that maybe my dietary decisions will rub off on someone. For the most part, no one wants to hear a vegan spreading the truth about the horrors of the animal agriculture industry. It’s a tough position to be in:/

    Hey Joey, I've been watching alot of your videos the last couple weeks, I understand your debate and the one you had with the "bodybuilder" was very interesting. I am a meat eater personally as I personally do not enjoy eating lots of vegetables and leaves but my other halfs sister is vegan and she has made some wonderful food. My only thing is were does it all stop? I mean a vegan is eating leaves and other vegetables which other creatures rely on to live, like a catapiller or aphid so by you eating this surely it's killing innocent creatures. I mean were does it all end?

      Joey Carbstrong I understand that of course, I have seen you put that forward in many of your videos, but just as cows cannot make the choice to be eaten once there milk is no more, you are technically taking a home from many insects that once you eat the leaf they fed on and the many leaves after how do they survive? This is what I was getting at when does it all stop? Just as the cows life is taken so are all the insects. So is it acceptable if I was to eat maggots? I'm not a troller by the way I am really interested in your views and what you think about this

      Strawman argument, how about this one. By Killing humans is in some way doing a good deed for the environment?

    • @ih8mcfly
      @ih8mcfly 6 років тому

      Scott2016 looking through “mother earths” perspective , humans have definitely been the biggest pest. I agree.
      I hold human wellbeing as the most important , so I wouldn’t personally kill humans looking through my human lens.
      So do you agree that by us killing a chicken, through a mouses perspective , it’s a good deed?

    • @slewin1971
      @slewin1971 6 років тому

      ih8mcfly
      There you go with assertions and strawmans again. Would you agree that from a chickens perspective killing a human would be a good deed? We can argue semantics all day. In the grand scheme of things humans have been here for a blink of the eye and sadly will not be around forever but we as a whole are a disgusting species. We are the only species that kills for pleasure not only animals but our own kind. The planet was healthy before we came and will be healthy again once we are gone.

      We have a choice about our diet. The mass extermination and provocations of Palestinians is wrong and we have to speak against that and against the suffering of all animals. Israel is not right to hurt others. I am against the exploitation of human animals (for their land) and farm animals (for their flesh). Why is killing one different than killing another?

      Who removed my comment lol cowards suppressing the truth.
      The glaring refusal of liberal interventionists to say a word about the need to protect occupied Palestinians from state-sponsored violence by the racist, terrorist and psychopathic Israeli government is a reminder of just how morally bankrupt & hypocritical the whole liberal intervention shtick is. Its the South African apartheid all over again. Nelson Mandela said the world won't be free until the Palestinians are from this satanic Rothschild cabal that founded Israel through the Balfour declaration. Funny that 1948 is when the South African apartheid started, same year Israel was established. The South African one ended, the Israeli one is still ongoing.

      Yeah land theft and genocide, as well as segregation I would intrinsically categorize as a "evil". However is it is not the lay person or common laborer that Is instigating these conditions or atrocities against basic human sovereignties it is the state and the privileged corporate elite who run the economic and political scapes neo colonialist cruelties. Support indigenous Palestinian equity and equity for animals! Overthrow the tyrannical state, it's not the state it's the speciesist and racially dehumanizing policies instigated by the wealthy to protect their economic interest over the human rights of the oppressed indigenous populace.

  • @OleMiknas
    @OleMiknas 6 років тому

    If you don't want to be a part of the suffering and death of living beings, then why are you in Israel? They have committed war crimes onto the Palestine people, forced them to vacate their homes and build illegal settlements on their land. They treat them as second class citizens and make it very difficult for the Palestinians to find a job, and put food on their table. The Israeli government are responsible for the death of innocent civilians and by being in israel you are helping and validating their cause. I know that you are a vegan so you are aware of how important humanity is in today's world.
