Something that ive heard or read, that everybody that have played this game and fought this boss said is "this boss battle gave me an aneurysm". Also this fanmade game had a POWERFULL impact on the megaman and gaming community omg.
For anyone who doesn't already know (if he doesn't say or figure it out in the video), Serenade's mechanic in BN3 is that he's entirely invincible when he 1) Is not attacking, and 2) Has a panel to sidestep to. He will block and reflect all attacks if he's not either unable to sidestep or currently attacking, so just mindlessly rushing him won't do much. Same for this fight. Wait, the safe spot is typically right behind him, and only attack him when he's attacking you. That second phase, though. That's....that's entirely new lol
Serenade in Battle Network was something else. And seeing her in X8 is even more insane she's unbelievably strong. Owned the manga of NT Warrior and Serenade is referred to as she.
I wish Serenade gave you SOMETHING, like maybe their Counter Ability, or their Holy Spark? Something to really reward you for fighting them! Heck even the giant F.U laser as a one use attack would be cool. But hey, seeing them here and getting to fight them is still cool.
I honestly didn't expect them to add a secret fight against Serenade, who is a character from the Battle Network saga. It is curious that a reploid such as X faces off against an independent Navi such as Serenade that only exists on the Internet.
Wouldn't be the first time the Battle Network and X/Zero universe would collide. Since Battle Network 4, players could obtain a Battle Chip called Z Saber (not to confuse with the Zero EXE's Battle Chip from Transmission) which gives IntiCreate's Megaman Zero Saber to a Navi. And if I remember correctly, there's an event in Megaman Zero 2 or 3 where Zero will go through levels and some levels will get digitalized and replace the regular enemies and Mavricks by viruses.
@@megamegamanz That's a fair idea, but I feel like I have to add that giant lasers aren't Serenade's thing, they're Bass's thing. Unless he did something similar in one of the mangas or that laser is supposed to be a Giga freeze reference... I just feel it's a really lazy thing to give the Merciful Underking.
I could tell just by watching that you can only attack him unpunished when he is attacking or doesn't have those shields up. (each take one hit, which punishes you with a laser) In theory, you could attempt to speed rush it if you can manage to hit him while you are jumping away from him, but that would take some practice to pull off because he doesn't seem to ever jump, so you would (in theory) have to shoot on the ground and immediately jump up and away, and hope the laser goes off while you are on the way down and the laser shoots over X's head. Second phase just adds another gimmick where you have to stand within the marks of the Kanji that appears to before it flares up, whilst also avoiding all the other attacks. The rule of not attacking while his shields are up still applies.
To anybody that has never played battle network an think they can blindly take on serenade like this man is doing. Dont......just dont. At least in battle network it was more turn based but this one is waaaaay to different.

it doesn't need a play on words as Serenade stems from Serene. The "nade" part is pronounced the same as in lemonade. A Serenade is a piece of music which goes along with the whole music naming thing since the beginning of Mega Man.
Those bosses look really overtuned. This is why I don't bother with fangames anymore. I want to have a good time, not have a my blood pressure go through the roof.
@@mendronesg I also don't have to play the game, if I don't want to. And making a megaman game where you have to frame perfect zero damage several bosses does the series disservice. Not everything has to be Dark Souls, and I'm sick of *every* game trying to be.

I don't do vids cus I can't afford the setup responsibilities and all but this doesn't look too hard just looks like a few small modifications to the original boss. 1 hit death in deaths gambit seemed harder to me that's just me tho you did good minus the freakouts lol
I do find it odd red acts like this is the first time he met x. And it sounds like he is forming red alert from x7???? I dunno about the story changes this game makes, but is it pretending x7 never happened? Best i can think of is that this a rogue data copy of red.
i think cause this game is as if Zero was never revived and axl never existed then X would have never meet red (given th actual reason they werent put into the game was cause they wanted to complete the game in a faster time rather then have it take over 5 years. the fact this game was made in 2.5 years is amazing)

for one thing, actually _getting_ to Serenade requires a lot out of you... as any veteran can attest, and not everyone is willing to do that legit.
