Thanks everyone for watching the run. This was one of my best performances at any marathon. I got within a few seconds of my PB, and after returning home from ESA I ended up getting the world record in this category with 41:18, so I'm super proud I stuck with this game and pushed myself to get to that level. Shoutouts to laura for the commentary, Tali for reading and to the entire crowd for having my back. This was really a special time.

That’s an interesting coincidence that the first three stages are all three mavericks not affiliated with the repliforce (those with the Sigma symbol)
I like how they're different kinds of Mavericks too. Dragoon was manipulated by Sigma into crashing the Sky Lagoon to get labeled Maverick so he could fight X or Zero, whereas Peacock works directly under Sigma and was ordered to test X's potential, and on the other hand, Mushroom is just a wild Maverick who needed to be taken out because he was attacking anyone who entered the tower.
Everyone else are Repliforce soldiers, who, due to stubborn pride, would rather die than disarm themselves and resolve the situation peacefully.
Did NOT knew you could do that while fivhting Web Spider with the spinning attack.

Web spider is the boss I enjoy the most fighting using Zero. while Dragoon fight is the one that I suck at without a mech.

4:31 a japanese translation error? or an english translation error? since the game came from Japan kinda weird saying its a "japanese translation error" since they call it "irregular" to the "mavericks" we know, english did called them mavericks instead of irregular
Irregulars is the correct term since that's what the original Japanese term for corrupted reploids. The English changed it into mavericks which they stick until now. The Japanese version still uses Irregulars.

X4 is probably one of my fave megaman games because it was what i played the most but like damn the movement is still crazy. I knew about SDC but didn't realize the property of the saber was the single hit and could be used like that on the very first boss with jump/turns.
Clearly they fixed this for MMZX games? Cyber Peacock is always one of the best stages because getting S ranks just feels good lol. The like damage boosting moments are nutty for muscle memory, that mid boss kill on split mushroom is crazy and the jumps through the stage like god damn.
I wish i could be this good at the megaman series but it's so much effort and time i'll just watch instead lol.
Also: Fuck Jet Stringray Stage, You can still play 'Megaman X Dive Offline' but i wouldn't recc it. Web spider loves sonic and is probably my favorite stage to play in x4 but the boss is a pain. Yanmark is similar. Owl is Pain.
Yea Mega Man games are hard to run. You have to stick with it for at least a few weeks to get a deathless run. But once you get your first you start really going faster everywhere. Thanks for enjoying the run, im happy i could bring a bit of nostalgia to your day
I LOOOOVE when a Woman teach us,man,how to play a game,im in love haha. I love this game,Resident Evil 2 beta,The King Of Fighters 96 and Rockman x4 were my first 3 games on Playstation,too bad and im sorry to say this,in anime fighting and animations i don´t like english dub at all,i prefer japanese,still,i love enligsh language in movies that´s why i learned many words on my own back when i was a kid.Grettings from Argentina,like and new sub.

I've never seen the runner make a slightly salty comment. I'm with you though man. As someone who has run this game hundreds of times when I was growing up, I saw nothing outside my skill level. I've pulled off hitless runs and that seems way harder. Now I have a pretty full life and not much extra time, but if I ever get a chance I'm going to put up a run as well. I'll try not to stray from gdq anymore. It's pretty crazy there is nobody calling out donations at the very least. I got to listen to some of the awesome soundtrack from the best MMX game so there's that.
@@shanegreer1947 I would love to see you both try to get into the game btw - It's not overly difficult like you said, but once you get near the top level you have to have some resilience. The boss RNG can get incredibly frustrating and you are practically resetting because of it when you get to around 41:xx. The worst part of running this game is also simultaneously the coolest. SDCs are really fun to do but absolutely annihilate your arm in the long run. I kinda had to put the game down cause it was tough on my arm, its no joke.
Sorry if i sounded salty btw, I just hear this kind of phrasing all the time and 99% of people saying this stuff never actually start running the game unfortunately.
@@ThaRixer i work 50-60 hours a week with kids so I don't have any time for games. I was alive when this game was released and I'm a mega fan of the series. I did get into the game. If I had the common sense as a teenager I would've posted my no damage runs. My life is too full so the only way you will see my run is if I somehow lose some responsibility. Back then I put at least 400 hours into the game so my skill level reflected that.

In their defense here, the runner asked for time to focus and said there wouldn't be much downtime.
This has gotta be the first time I've heard someone say this. I typically hear everyone getting upset over the runner not getting enough time to talk. In any cayse, I typically just do my thing and then all the donations can be read out during one specific segment that I feel like has a lot of downtime. If you can't get to them all they'll just read them on the intermission screens. Not a big deal
