Wow, Leaf players have certainly come along way since the 1950's, when they had to work at Conn Smythe's sand and gravel business during the summer just to make ends meet. My dad, who lived near Runnymede and St. Clair back then, would see the Leafs players working from time to time.
Seen his house when had training camp, every summer for the guys....pool, roller blade rink outside ,gym built near pool.. awesome...but will stay here least another 5 years I believe...love my fav player💙💙💙

He jiggled the door handle of a security guard he knew and had his boxers on. He showed less of his ass than 99.99 percent of middle school volleyball players.
True but any smart hockey player playing for the Leafs has to realize that if they’re part of a cup winning team for Toronto, they’ll be immortalized forever.
1. That’s not his house (not that you should be showing his house on the internet anyways) And 2. Emily was his first girlfriend. They went to prom together but they broke up before he even got drafted. He dated Jordan after Emily.
He is currently dating Emily, you can see the photos they post. That is his summer house in Arizona. His main house in Toronto’s is private which is why I didn’t show it.
@@NHLLifestyle No. That is not his Arizona house. And No. He and Emily are not together. Where did see them posting pictures together recently? And where did you get the information that that’s his house?
5 years 58 million for Auston Matthews doesn’t seem like much considering how important he is to the franchise and city of Toronto. The majority of the Toronto Blue Jays players make more than 10 million a year. Mark Chapman the 3rd baseman for the Jays is making 12 million a year Chris Bassist is making 18 million a year and those aren’t even the best players on the team. Matthews is insanely underpaid
unfortunately its the revenue share of the NHL. the other 3 majors will always make more money and thus the players will. QBs getting 50 million per year is just criminal. it is what it is
Pretty amazing one gets paid no matter the performance when its most needed. At the end of the day, all the money in the world do not mean shit if you can get your name on the cup. Unfortunately, he hasnt been able to demsontrate he can get it done in the playoffs.
has he won or the team? cause hes won back to back rockets, A hart trophy, a Calder trophy and a ted lindsey, team on the other hand hasn't won shit lol
@@johnny316b Plenty of great players go their entire career without ever winning the cup. Dumb to set the goalpost there for him but not everyone. How many cups has McDavid won? Many consider him the best player to ever play the game.

I dont understand why these players want so much money. if i was one of these top tier players id take 8m a year for ever how long the contract is. you get paid and you help the GM sign talent and you set an example for the team. its all about the cup right???
@@mking1982098 I think that was my point. He hasn't won anything of consequence. He hasn't taken his team on his shoulders and carried them to anything close to greatness. It has all been individual accomplishments. All the great players, the super stars have won a cup. Matthew's has not shown that in 7 years. He needs to elevate his game in the playoffs when it really matters. He needs to make his team better and lead the way. That is what the greats of the game did. Ask yourself this - would Yzerman be held in such high regard if he didn't win a Cup? Matthew's has had the opportunities to do the same but hasn't taken advantage of that. Now with the cap and the lineup situation in Toronto it looks like you will have to wait even longer than you thought to see success. The rest of us knew this from the onset of the the Matthew's era. If Matthew's would have really wanted to win a Cup, he would have signed for less. Think about it. He knew the market he was coming into and knew that he was going to be the Maple Leaves box office star. Gimme, gimme gimme.
And yet... all those goals and not much else to show for it. In spite of ALL the overpriced talent around him. Enjoy the spoils of your talent. Would be great if you could help repay some of it in the form of a Cup for Toronto and Canada.
Matthews salary isn’t even crazy, 58 million over 5 years is an absolute bargain. MLSE is paying Pascal Siakam 136 million over 4 years and the Raptors can’t even make the playoffs lol. And if you look what Rogers pays the BlueJays players Matthews salary would make him one of the lowest paid which is crazy considering Matthews is the most popular athlete in the city.
@@ryanc9888 its all about the revenue generated by the leagues. NHL players get paid the least by far and always will because its not as popular (still the best sport imo) but his 12 mil annual salary is still one of the highest in the NHL just comparatively speaking its peanuts

Best goal scorer ever since joining the league. He has more goals than ovechkin at the same age and ovechkin is going to pass Gretzky for all time goal leader.....
