I own a 1966 13 whaler and there were day that I’m so glad I’m in a whaler , being in florida waters out on Tampa bay can get sketchy as hell sometimes , but my old gal handles just fine
Sweet, I’m practically running the same setup on my ‘68 BW 13’, w/ extended tiller handle, controlling a Evinrude 40 2-stroke and an aluminum grab loop, for help on standing stability. In rough conditions it reminds me of riding my YZ-125 dirt bike, except not having the ability to 1 down, 5 up with my left toe, lol!
I always thought that was fun as a little kid..it was little bit worse than this , but my brother knew what he was doing since we made it back lol. The old 11’5 whalers kick ass , best boat around.
Thanks for the chuckle, the kill switch need, it has happened to me before and I was very glad to be able to swim back to the boat. "Don't go out there" ... the translated response from the two older (?) gents in the aluminum boat "WTH were you doing out there? Right, you are young and your bones have not told you else wise" =) Subbing to your channel, your videos are bringing back memories of my childhood. As my family grows up and finances "flow" a bit better, I plan to get back on the water but with the family. Cheers!
😂😂 im sure all the guys in the big boats were saying holy crap as well. thanks for the watch and sub! i really appreciate it 👍. hope you get out on the water soon. tight lines! 🎣
@@Whaler11fishing The big boat comment, for sure - sure the Whaler might not be the driest ride but it sure as heck will get you home! I am hoping a local shop will get the new Montauk models so I can have a look; 190 (slightly bigger than a skiff lol) and I hope a test ride can be warranted as I want to know how it handles in the ocean (BC west coast) and I think it is still compact enough to trailer anywhere for the many lakes we have here. If I was not planning for family outings, I think the classic 13s and hell what you are proving here with great skills, the 11 is good enough for a personal craft --- although calmer weather days would be preferred =)
Thanks for posting this and I'm glad I caught your video because I'm going to the boat show in 2 weeks to order one and it's hard to justify the price, but your video helped convince me Boston whalers are worth it
I'm getting muscle spasms just watching and yes I have an 11-footer 89 with a 25 horsepower Nissan on it a lot of fun I think they ride better than the 13 footers with just one person for sure
i have 14 feets, whaler with 25hp. i have fear to go open sea. to island taboga near to panama. this video show a good work, boston whaler...11 feets. i will try with mine.
I've been in 3-5's like that hauling ass in my 24' Proline and it felt like it was jarring the fillings outta my teeth!! And I was in the Sanibel Causeway so I can def relate!!!😎 Sometimes you just gotta give it hell and hope everything works out
@@Whaler11fishing obviously you know what you're doing. 👍 I'm moving to cape coral area, NEED a boat and was debating if a 17' like a key west would be sufficient. Only plan on going a couple miles out but also need a shallow draft for channels. With the obvious practice would that be an ok size for that area? I hear it can get rough between sanibel and N captiva
@@Whaler11fishing I kept it all stock with the mahogany wood console and seating...I've been caught in seas like that in the Chesapeake Bay and just had to power home at 5 MPH to keep my body from breaking...haha.
@@Whaler11fishing Yes I noticed that stern deck but didn't know what versions of all the hulls were. Awesome man, that must be a 25hp on there. I know that area but not from the water. Cool, be careful lol
Great video, but poor language, I’m sure it’s because even though you say you weren’t scared, running one old 2 stroke on a 11’ whaler in that even Cpt Ahab would be scared in that
Nothing like a nice lil whaler 💪🏽💯🤙🏽🤙🏽
Darn..you're crazy..rough waves.😁😁. Running like it is the last chance to see your g.f. That little engine could go and go✅
Her: come over
Me : cant fishing
Her: im alone
Me:...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m currently restoring an 11ft whaler. Can’t wait to recreate this video on my own!
You have any videos?? I’m restoring a panga

I'm in tension watching this. You got a new subscribers my friend . Salute from Puerto Rico
That’s that nothing in my uncle 60 ft Viking 😂😝 I’m happy you’re ok you don’t want mess around with the ocean
Holy shit! Running for the barn!
I can feel the wet wind in may face, here in my chair!!

Best little tender ever made.
I’ve been in the Charlotte Harbor when its blown out like that.white caps every where one day.

i agree she scoots right on top with just me in it. looking at getting a 40hp for it LOL.
Just bought a carolina skiff j12, ill be happy if it handles even close to as good as your whaler
It will be bumpy, but as long as im not sinking ill be happy haha
My 1975 Boston Whaler Montauk is still going strong - now newly repowered with Yamaha SHO 90.
I've gone through a nasty squall on my 11' BW...a lot lot slower with crazy big waves and wind....
Thanks for sharing!
Outboard with how much horsepower?
its a 20hp 2 stroke.
what horse power do you use in this boat....? 30 hp....?
20hp 2 stroke Yamaha 🤘 been looking for a 30hp yamaha tho 💪
would that whaler float even if it was swamped? does it have positive flotation?
Yeah they are unsinkable. Ive had a good bit of water in it before. Jump up on plane and pull the plug it goes out.
You can cut in half and they still float - google dick fisher whaler cut in half
i have 14 feets, whaler with 25hp. i have fear to go open sea. to island taboga near to panama. this video show a good work, boston whaler...11 feets. i will try with mine.
How much does one of these go for ?
Fuck Yeah!
the little whaler that could!
🤘🤘🤘🤘

All hail the baby whale!
damn i have a 13' and been in rough stuff it sucks lol... Guessing the trick is to stand?
oh yeah standing makes all the difference. bend your knees and roll with the punches 💪💪
@@Whaler11fishing Awesome ill have to try it, subscribed!
Ha! The key is to have bigger balls than waves. Then you’re fine. 😂
The wind is HOWLING! LOL
Would've been more impressed if you had gone across Boca Grande Pass in that!!!
very far. Miles?
The little Whaler that could
She gets the job done 🤘 thanks for watching.
How big were the waves at it's worse? Dont see that in the midwest
good 3'-4's

yeah a 16-20' boat is the norm for around here. it does get a little rough in the sound with the right wind pushing against the tide.
Thanks👍 much appreciated
thank you for watching, make sure to check out some of my break down videos i show some of my spots on google maps 👍
“Fucking getting it son” 😂😂😂
so where's the rough seas~? This video belongs on Qualified Captain website
How about i invite you out for the next storm and you can ride with 🤣🤣🤣
If you think those are rough seas, don't come to Newfoundland lol. Your vid is like a regular day of fishing up here.
😂😂😂 that sounds intense!
I have seen bigger waves in my bathtub! Only thing extreme is the hyperbole.
🤣🤣🤣 next time we have a strom come ride with me then 🤟🤟🤟🤟
With balance like that, you should join the USA gymnastics team.
Hang on to your Ahole Fred
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
holy shit.
Bro we were getting slammed coming back into jugg creek
Was quite sporty out for sure!
I have to sit down in my side console, 11 foot Whaler ....my back would have been broken in those sea's ; \
yeah standing is one of the many reasons i Didnt go with a console when building.

Great! That's a 13' though.
is actually an 11 the 13' has the transom pocket in the back not a deck.

@Gbass you really tryna tell this man what size his own boat is?🤦🏽♂️smh
@@Salty_004 Ur right, he was right, I was wrong. 11ft and killing' it in Ft Myers. I own a 15'.
Should have stayed out...bite was just about to pick up!!!

thats the same day but the fishing i did right before it hit
your back? so slow down so the 1 foot seas don't damage the your back and the sinkable Whaler. p.s., get a better cushion for the seat.

Yeah some of my older videos have some cursing in them. Its cleaned up a bit since then 🤘 thanks for watching.
wtf
😂😂😂
Come on, it's not really rough seas... You're going at high speed and getting a bumpy ride but rough sea, definitely not.
thanks for your inquiry 👍. video never does much justice. was good 3-4s and still rough for an 11' boat 🤘 happy boating.
It's definitely rough water for an 11' boat. There's people with larger boats that would have slowed down. Boat handled it like a champ. Great video!
